Sounds like a lot of Protestant complaints I've heard against the infinite value of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Jesus told Luisa (and us) in the writings that we will ALWAYS have the Sacraments of the Church.

Down through the centuries there has been many times where certain nations have not had the Sacraments of the Church, like in Japan and Australia and probably now in China and other places, so when we don't have access to the sacraments 'Living in the Divine Will', is naturally what we have!

This does make sense on so many levels and has been practiced by many in the past!

These poor Catholics show us great courage in trials as they remained faithful to the Catholic Faith by trusting in Gods Divine Mercy and trusting in His Divine Will. They were still living in His will in times when there was no Sacraments available. I believe this is what Lusia is refering to when she compares the 7 Sacraments of the Church to Living in the Divine Will as a sacrament.

  6. A sacrament is an outward sign of inward grace. What greater example of this can be found in the persecuted church deprived of the sacraments but still faithful to the Truth of Tradition in their spiritual communion with Christ and each other?
To get back to the greatest gift problem. The value of the Eucharist does not depend on the state of the recipient but its efficacy does. I still hold fast to the belief that There is no greater gift than the Eucharist. My gut feeling is that Luisa believed this too. The fault must be in her followers.

You know Joe it has been said by a great saint or a few great saints [I can't remember who though] that making a spiritual Holy Communion is of the greatest value next to recieving physical Holy Communion!

The saint then compared Physical Holy Communion to being like 'Gold in value' for the soul! and Spiritual Holy Communion as being like 'Silver in value' for the soul!

I just want to add that I recieved a pm from a person that I consider as a very holy member of this forum and she stated that some saints of the past had already commented on the precious gift of our free Will and also on Gods Divine Will.

One was the Cure De Ars who said..... 'It delights God when we give the gift of our will back to Him and ask for His Will to be done in Our life!'

So I think there is really nothing new for the Church in this current teaching but as I stated before I await the Church's conclusions on the writings.

I thanked this person who sent me this pm post and I would also like to thank Bartimaeus who has revealed another truth for us to contemplate, regarding the Catholics of the past that were deprived of the Holy Sacraments of the Church, but who none the less, lived in Gods Will, trustfully awaiting the return of the Sacraments.

What about sitting on the couch rather than laying:D.
Would one sitting on the couch Living in this new devotion gain more merit than a saint doing hard yards not living in the Divine Will?

and this is why I think you are going to have a big problem with St. Therese of Lisieux - coz that is almost exactly her spirituality - getting the escalator rather than trudgng up the stairs.
Even Jesus gave us the parable of the labourers in the vineyard...
we can't buy our way into heaven with penance, good works, or saying prayers. If we could then St. John the Evangelist would be amoung the least of saints, and Chuck Feeney would be well in.
The mercy of God is a mystery.

Sometimes it is God's Will that we accept martyrdom, sometimes it is His Will that we rest on a couch (Our Lord did as much, anyway; even on a cushion! Mark 4:38). I think someone is missing the point here. Besides, it is an entirely moot point at best -- I know of no mystical literature that so encourages willingly accepting great sufferings for Christ as does Luisa's.

Have you gotten to the part in the Story of a Soul yet about "picking up the pin for love of God"?

I guess that means that Sr. Luica hated the Eucharist, penance, the Mass, Confession, the Divine Mercy Chaplet/Divine Mercy Sunday/ the Divine Mercy Image (which were all given after Sr. Lucia's revelations). (In case anyone did not catch the facetiousness here, I am as pro-Fatima, pro-Sr. Lucia as they come)

[Two can play the "invent meaningless, ridiculous contradictions where there are in fact none in a futile attempt to discredit a holy woman's writings" game :) ]

  18. LITDW may represent a recent movement but the option of living in God's will for the Church has existed since Mary's fiat. LITDW cannot surpass or improve the example of Our Blessed Mother or Jesus for that matter or the saints who followed their example. The cross of Christ united with acceptance of our crosses is the only way to heaven. I am sure Luisa understood this. I don't know what went wrong but some of her writings, or alleged writings, make me cringe. There was another saint whose biographer cast doubt on her witness: Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. I still believe her.

Maybe devotion to the Sacred Heart had already been established?
    Even before Fatima??
    Hold on,
    Back it up a second.
Dont go confusing accepting Gods Will , or conforming to Gods Will, with LITDW as if they are the same thing.

  20. The difference between the two in how Jesus explained to Luisa is that when people, even saints, work to comply with the Will of God there is always a part of the individual's own will involved and thus limiting the Divine Will's own action. When living this new reality of living in the Divine Will the human will disappears....there is no concern for meriting anything since this experience is pure gift and can be gained by simply, at first, desire for it. There is no human worry about perfection or what else comes with attachments to one's own thinking or emotions or concern for appearance or of being understood etc. This desire comes more and more by being educated in just what the Divine Will means and that understanding/education comes from the writings of Luisa as Jesus presented them to her. That was her whole mission to be fulfilled as the little daughter of the Divine Will. And from her being the first to live out this mission others would enter in, fulfilling the Will of the Father from the beginning which He never stopped in intention. She really did not wish to write down such personal and intimate exchanges, and could not understand how someone like herself could even be capable of such a large request or mission but she was told that she would then be responsible for all those who would be without this knowledge so necessary for them to come into this knowledge as well if she didn't comply. Her merits then could be "used" by all those who would come after her who would live as well in the Divine Will. Jesus refers to such persons no longer influenced by all of the attachments that come from the human will as "living hosts" and speaks to the greater joy given to Him by those living in Him or being "fused" together with such persons than what He experiences in having to use an inanimate material with no will of its own to freely give to Him, bread. Faustina experienced to some extent this life of the Divine Will and is referred to as such a "living host". In fact Luisa was tethered to her bed as if to a cross seeming as one who did nothing and yet to be that living host she lived under what order was necessary for her to go in and out of that Will, leaving herself/her own will in order to complete that education in Christ and needing a particular prelate to be the one to permit her to come out of such a "frozen" state when it came to her own body. She learned about and experienced the true understanding of what the human will of Jesus suffered but then learned what no one up to her time understood of what that Divine Will of Christ suffered which the human understanding cannot comprehend on its own. Simply an amazing gift to yearn for in at least expectation.
