    Tomorrow will be four weeks since this thread was started. No one has posted a list of Charlie's specific predictions that have come to pass (specific, unexpected, undeniable).

    Just sayin'

  2. I think his last name is "johnston" not "johnson";\

    in any event, I have reviewed some of his predictions and they never came to pass, ever

    also, he claims that he made certain predictions many years ago but there is nothing to
    show that this is true; I cannot find any predictions before 2009;
    also, none of those have come to pass;
    based on this I do not believe he is a good source;

    Well, if your moniker is accurate, you've earned the right to speak with some authority.

    There's no doubt that if the next fifteen days are uneventful with respect to his predictions, the jig is up.

    In that case, I will still regard him as a good, but mistaken man. I have found much of his writings helpful and he has been quite orthodox. I think he may have somehow conflated his undoubted political astuteness with a perception of being provided higher knowledge. Alternatively, he may have received genuine messages but misinterpreted them. I think he has had a good read on the recent accelerated decline and demoralisation of our civilisation, but didn't need the gift of prophecy for that. His 'next right step' advice is worthwhile, relevant and practicable regardless of what happens.

    Just putting up a particularly interesting comment from Charlie on Charlie's blog. He feels a need to explain himself and his mission. Less than two weeks out from the Inauguration, he's personally frustrated.

    What is interesting to me is that, if he truly expects catastrophe in 13 days, why he does not issue a call for followers to go to Confession, go to Adoration, begin a fast, have Masses said to the Lord for the souls of the 26 million who are destined to die before the end of the year? What about the Eucharistic Processions that he pushed a while back? He hasn't mentioned them lately. Nor has he written anything more on Menses, who apparently is to play Lex Luther to his Sherpa-man in the coming crisis, and must be at a peak of activity at the present moment. Charlie hasn't even pushed his Heaven-sent (difficult to hum) "Song of Thanksgiving."

    I suppose it's boorish to add that conservative Christians, political writers and others have long been predicting the same things that he claims as his unique insight into the trajectory of society. It's probably also boorish to note he compares himself to Moses, but he does.

    From "A Decisive Conundrum" response:

    Joe, I do understand. Do you understand how frustrated I am that I have spent so long trying to push the expectation of prophecy away from knowing what will happen to answering what God calls us to? Or how frustrated that, for three and a half years, I have pretty consistently told the trajectory of where our culture was headed – only to see it consistently follow the trajectory I said it would – and some people act like this is the only thing I have ever spoken about. How quickly people who taunted me that the collapse of the rule of law would never happen, that the US government would not actively target Christians, that our government would not spy on us or target us based on our beliefs, that China was not our friend and was the most chillingly and quietly aggressive nation in the world, that after much turmoil, relations with Russia would get very warm again have forgotten that I ever said such things before they happened, much less apologized for their error. My past accuracy now counts for nothing. Do you understand how much I appreciate the frustration of Moses, who was constantly criticized as a fraud among his own people despite telling them true pretty consistently – only to hear them only care about the next thing to come up and hinging all on whatever that next thing was? I have called on him frequently as patron since before my pilgrimage. It will not matter…should this come to pass…at the very next juncture some will be telling me that if that does not happen I am a fraud. I have said what I have said – and I maintain that the heart of prophecy is recalling people to God’s call. I tell you this: until the day I retire I will constantly have people setting new tests and telling me how I must meet their expectations – no matter how right I have consistently been. But the heart of prophecy is to speak in God’s name on what He calls each of us to. I have done that and weill continue to do so within the framework I have laid out, including withdrawing from the scene at least for a time if I am wrong on this fundamental prophecy.

    Three and a half years ago I was telling skeptics that it was no great matter to me whether they believed me about the Storm or not – for it would come either way. It is here. I tell you now that it is no great matter to me whether you believe in the Rescue or not. It will come either way. All that is at stake is how many of its graces you will participate in by your choices through the rest of the Storm. Whether your harvest is meager or abundant is entirely in your hands.

    Yeah it's not going to well at all for old Charlie. He has told us nothing new and yet continues to tell us that he has given us unique insight into our current malaise. He has stated that should the inauguration go ahead he will declare himself unreliable and go quietly into obscurity. We know now that this most certainly will not be the case and he has said as much.

    He might be completely wrong. All the more reason not to kick a man, when he's down. Better to pray for him.

    Ponder well: Jonah 3:10
    "When God saw by their actions and how they turned from their evil ways, He repented of the evil He had threatened to do to them; He did not carry it out."
    Just a thought - sometimes our Lord will turn the events into something we do not understand. We are finite - He is infinite and all-seeing. Therefore, sometimes what a prophet perceives as being one thing, may be another as they also can be mistaken. That does not mean they are "false" prophets. What we all must do ourselves is to pray for discernment.

    A friend sent me this post of Glenn Dellaire's. It appeared on his Mystics of the Church" website this morning. He has been a personal friend of Charlie. I would not have posted my earlier post had I been aware of this first.

    Glenn Dallaire said...

    Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for sharing their thoughts and reflections here. Jack, Lisa and many others have brought out some very important considerations, I think.

    Now, to reply to Anonymous from 12:21AM concerning the statement from Charlie:

    charliej373 says:

    My “prophecies” have not proven false. They have almost all been proven true...."
    ---------

    While I don't claim to be an expert on all things concerning Charlie, I have closely monitored his blog over the past couple of years, and have corresponded quite frequently with both Charlie and one of his priest spiritual directors over this same period. I have often questioned Charlie on a variety of matters, and to his credit he has always responded frankly to my queries.

    Now, as to that particular comment from Charlie above, I have yet to discover any specific angelic or heavenly prophesies that have come to fruition. Charlie has often talked about purported predictions throughout his childhood and lifetime that have come to pass, but he has not been at all specific about any of these, and I know of none that are documented or verifiable. Such "after the fact" statements rest solely on Charlie's own authority.

    Additionally, he talks about his accuracy on "being right on the sweep of things", but he also has often publicly conceded that one does not need to be a prophet to predict much of what has come to pass in the world as a whole. In other words, its obvious that much of what has occurred in the world in recent times is simply a logical consequence of humanities decisions up to this point. Simply put, they are logical conclusions to our overall moral decline.

    So, even if up to this point perhaps Charlie may have "been right on the sweep of things" this is of course quite far from being any type of heavenly confirmation of his purported prophetic mission and message. A verifiable and documented fulfillment of a specific heavenly prophesy is required for that.

    Sure didn't Charlie say he would disappear from the scene if things did not turn out the way he predicted?

    He has 13 days left!

    Well, we still have a few days to see if Charlie's prophecies are fulfilled, I believe these three are his main contentions: That Obama will not finish his term in office; that we will not have a transition on January 20th to the 45th elected president; and that the next president won't come from the political class.

    I have leaned a life lesson from all of these prophecies and hypothesis. To trust God and do his Will. Love God and my neighbors. Stay in a state of sanctifying grace. Be prepared and ready to be judged by God, because today may be my last day on earth.

    And, most important of all, I must always remember that only God knows the day and the time of His final justice.

    From CJ's latest:

    " I am willing to be whatever is useful – to suffer, to triumph, to be humiliated, to be honored…whatever advances the Master’s plan, trusting always that His plan is altogether true, merciful and just. A big part of my training was being shown over and over again how little and fallible I am and how great and omnipotent He is. Whenever I have had a setback in anything, He has proved true and just. "

    I keep thinking, "who is like God?"

    or:

    "God's ways are not man's ways"

    and I believe what CJ says here is true:

    "Frankly, I get more than a little annoyed at people who constantly tout some simple, linear narrative as the only possible way God can act – and will viciously attack anyone who disagrees with that childish interpretation. God almost always acts by indirection. If He were a pool player, I think He would not be pleased with any shot that was not at least a triple bank shot. The first direction an event takes is almost always just the first bank – and can look wildly different than what the final result He intends will be, after several more unpredictable caroms. Given that, intellectual prowess and analytical acuity are not sufficient. It is entirely beyond our ken."

    Isn't he dead right? Noah? David? Jesus? The triumph of the Immaculate Heart?
    I am waiting for God's triple bank shot.

    Charlie Johnston update: Yesterday Michael Brown at Spirit Daily headlined the countdown to Charlie's prophecy of Obama won't end his term/no leader from the electoral process. As of noon today, that will be 9+ days until the Inauguration.

    Spirit Daily linked to Glenn Dellaire's new post on Charlie's Presidential Prophecy, here: http://www.mysticsofthechurch.com/2017/01/the-presidential-prophecy-update-on.html

    There's a very lively set of comments about the whole mess, which I've just started to explore. Curiously, the majority of posters seem to be skeptics!

    It's interesting to watch, in real time, the unraveling of an internet cult. I don't recall anyone using social media to promote himself and a set of messages to this extent before. (Charlie's LinkedIn page continues to advertise his skills in social media, public speaking and events.) As for those who have been mislead by these messages, I hope the Archdiocese of Denver offers some guidance.

    ETA: In fact, I wonder if the increasing use of social media won't eventually force the Church to rethink the way it deals with mystical claims. Given that the vast majority of messengers and messages are false, Catholics need to be guided and protected. It's disingenuous to believe predictions of imminent catastrophic events unfolding will not harm vulnerable people. It's positively deceitful to say even if his predictions are wrong, Charlie's got a good message, since the very reason anyone pays any attention to him are the predictions; they are not separable.

    I have a sneaking suspicion that Harper and disciples are somehow related to Patti Armstrong at the National Catholic Register. Their campaign against Charlie started here shortly after the fallout from her article (link here: http://www.ncregister.com/daily-new...y-despite-denver-archdi#article-view-comments). Could Harper be L Spinelli from the comments section there?
