Hello All My name is Sadik and I have some years of experience with all Technical aspects of a Forum. I have been hired by padraig and Dan here to upgrade the board to a more modern, user friendly and secure software platform. I will be working most of the day today and tomorrow to finish the upgrade. I am hoping within 2 days, I will finish all technical and configuration work. The site may be unavailable or seem closed in the interim while I am working on it but please rest assured that everything will be better... Once I am done with the upgrade, you can reply to this thread for problems you may be facing and I will try my best to help everyone out. God bless

Hi... I am able to post links just fine. For example http://www.google.com If you mean, links are not working in an old post, could you please link me to that thread. And one thing I strongly urge everone, specially the admins and Moderators to do is to change your password by going to http://motheofgod.com/account/security Please choose a password which is at least 8 characters long and has at least one number and at least one special character (#,@,$,%) etc...

Good morning to Sadik and to all on the forum. I was very touched that Sadik, a Follower of Islam agreed to do work on the forum at a knock down price when he saw it as a, 'Work of faith'. So please remember Sadik and his family in your prayers in thanks giving for his kindness. He is doing a wonderful job and I notice is spending a huge amount of time and effort. I notice by doing so he fulfills a Sura from the Quran as follows: [17:26-29] You shall give the due alms to the relatives, the needy, the poor, and the travelling alien, but do not be excessive, extravagant. I am sure that Mary, the Mother of Jesus so respected and loved in Islam will be touched too,as this is her site.
Anyway Sadik was asking for proposals for changes and improvements in the site, so I will start posting some which I have come up with after prayer and thought. I don't want to burden you with too much work Sadik so when you have had enough just say so I don't want to drive you crazy. Dan said we might talk together on Skype so maybe later on today the three of us will talk Anyway; PROPOSAL 1. Perhaps there could be a link to twitter and face book on the front page . I see you have such a link on Jim's site. I understand it makes the forum as though it had its own page on facebook?
Proposal 2. Might it be possible to set up and index to pages of articles on the forum. For instance articles on prayer and prayer forms.
Proposal 3. Might it be possible to put up some kind of counter showing how some kind of statistics about how the forum is doing visitor/ hits wise?
Yes I was going to talk to you about that. What you need to do is go to Facebook and create a page for the site. Once you have created the facebook page, let me know the links of those and I can show the "Facebook Like Box" here on the site. Twitter I really won't recommend for your site as do you think a lot of people will be tweeting about the site? If yes, then create a twitter account and let me know the URL and I can add that too. Also there is something called "Sign in With Facebook". If you like I can enable that which would mean that people will be able to register in the forum directly with their facebook account. Some people don't like that as they like to keep their facebook and forum profiles different. Anyways, let me know if you would like that. And thanks for the kind words... Yeah I got the Analytics code in mail. Thanks. (Have implemented it, you should be seeing data when you login in GA) And You pasted the wrong Facebook Page link And Logging in with Facebook will be enabled shortly!
Proposal 5. Some people in the future, on several occasions will try very, very hard to destroy the forum;is there any way to protect it? i
Proposal 6 At a point in the future a huge number of people,many thousands will attempt to join and post questions all at the same time. Can the forum be stopped from crashing?
Proposal 7 Can a link be posted to a page on the site which I will fill in later called 'The Great Sign?
