Dolours....FORGET THE BISHOP, God did not ask Cletus to contact the Bishop. The messages, as Verne stated is for those who were seeking truth for our times and into and through the purification of His Church, which includes the defeat of the False Prophet and Antichrist and into the Era of Peace.

For those with faith in his book, no approval is necessary. For those who reject Verne's messages, no explanation will suffice. Let's leave it at that as arguing and further clarification will not convince you of it and you know it. One last point. It is to late for an Imprimatur, as all 20,000 books that Cletus bought and paid for and for which neither of them made a penny from, have been given out to where heaven directed Cletus and in those places of refuge God's messages will wait to be read. To answer a last question of yours, Verne for the most part has not been promoting his messages for the past 10 years. He only recently seen they were being talked on via the MOG forum the past few years and has since renewed his promises to our Lord through his messages. Peace.

  2. About that predicted "visitation" by Mary in Bavaria....like before:

Virgin Mary ‘apparition’ attracts hundreds to German town (VIDEO)

Hundreds of devout Christians have gathered at a small chapel in the German town of Unterflossing where they are hoping to catch a glimpse of the Virgin Mary.
Salvatore Caputa, a self-proclaimed Sicilian prophet, said that the mother of Christ would appear at the St. Laurentius Chapel at 4.30pm local time Saturday. Caputa said it would be her third appearance. The last one supposedly came back in September.

A crowd of some 300 people waited patiently for hours in the cold, singing and praying to pass the time. At the declared time, Caputa reportedly dropped to his knees, clutched his rosary beads and stared into the distance.

The Italian mystic claims the apparition asked for prayers of peace and called for people to “open your hearts.” The owner of the church told Deutsche Welle that one other woman witnessed the supposed phenomenon. A number of other people reported smelling the scent of roses, a flower associated with the holy mother.

    From 9/20/17:

Is the Virgin Mary appearing in a small Bavarian village? A thousand onlookers say yes

Something is happening in the town of Unterflossing, Bavaria, but the Church is unsure what. However, hundreds of pilgrims say they know, they say the Virgin Mary is appearing there.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- Last Sunday, about a thousand pilgrims gathered in the village of Unterflossing, Bavaria. The village has just 112 residents, but that did not stop the crowd from forming. Their hope was to see for themselves if the claims of Salvatorea Caputa are true. Caputa claims to have been visited by the Virgin Mary repeatedly since 1986.

An observer from the Archdiocese of Munich was present.

Caputa held a rosary in his outstreteched hand as 4:30 PM approached. On the dot, he fell to his knees and all those present reported the strong scent of roses. Roses are associated with the Virgin Mary.

Others filmed on their phones as Caputa entered a private chapel. Bystanders said they felt a vibration.

After a half hour, Caputa emerged from the chapel and produced a handwritten document. "Mary wants you to pray to her, she is greatly troubled," he reported. Caputa then asked people to "bring peace" into their hearts and said that Our Lady said she loved Austria and Germany.

The Virgin Mary will return on March 19, at 4:30 next year.

The owner of the chapel, Otto Masszi took relief at the words, explaining to reporters that the promise of Mary to reappear on March 19 means the world will not end before then.

Pilgrims took water from a local well, which has been blessed by the Virgin Mary according to Caputa.

The Church has not recognized Caputa as a seer, but his claims have not been thoroughly investigated.

    According to the TimeandDate.com website ( https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/determining-easter-date.html ):

In 325CE the Council of Nicaea established that Easter would be held on the first Sunday after the first full moon occurring on or after the vernal equinox. ... From that point forward, the Easter date depended on the ecclesiastical approximation of March 21 for the vernal equinox.

According to the web site Greek Reporter.com, the Council of Nicaea also specified that Easter was always to come after the Jewish Passover, to maintain the Scriptural sequence of events. However, there was a controversy over whether or not that was actually specified by the Council. The Orthodox churches maintain it was, the Western Churches considered it optional. When Pope Gregory established the Gregorian calendar, 15 days were dropped off the calendar to bring the calendar in line with astronomical measurements. The Orthodox have rejected this change when calculating the date of Easter, and still use the Julian calendar for that. So the Orthodox Easter (Pascha) and the associated holidays are up to 15 days after the Western Church's dates. (I believe, but cannot find proof, that this change with the Gregorian calendar fixed -- in the Western church -- any debate about Easter being after Passover.)

Seeing as how it took an Ecumenical Council to set the calculated date for Easter, it's unlikely that Pope Francis could simply declare a fixed date for Easter. Pope St. Gregory did not change the calculation for the date of Easter, he simply issued a correction to the calendar in use at the time so that March 21 would be on or around the actual Vernal Equinox (as confirmed by astronomical observation.) If another Ecumenical Council were to be called on the question, it appears more likely to me that the only compromised reached would be having the Western Church accept the provision of Easter falling after Passover, while the Orthodox (most of them, anyway) agreeing to use the Gregorian calendar for calculating dates, That way, both branches of the Church would be celebrating Easter on the same date.

  4. Yes, this is the main mission of Vassula Ryden. She spoke about this with Pope Francis during a meeting with him in Argentina. Then another time when I believe one of those who follow her called out to him from the crowd at some later time to not forget this purpose of uniting on the date of Easter....which to the Lord is a scandal for His Church, a sign of division.....the Pope gestured by pointing to his head to say it's in his memory to do so!

If the Jews convert... Which Jews? The real ones or the ones running the nation of Israel hiding behind the facade of the past but at heart are Zionists with no love of God or neighbor?
This is somewhat off topic but this article is worth a read I think if nothing else because it shows the great efforts underway by Pope Francis to bring all Christians together in common purpose. To wake us up. I have a great many misgivings about false ecumenicism but yet I can not escape the thought that being of one mind and one body as Apostle Saint Paul taught is or ought to be the goal of all God's true faithful. Even amidst the seeming crumbling of morality within the confines of the Church.
In many battles of the past the Christian world has been divided and even pitted against itself. Sometimes along Protestant and Catholic lines like at the Battle of Lapanto in 1571 (The Ottoman Turks!) where Protestants sided with Ottomans to defeat the Catholic forces. Or, with the defeat of the Spanish Armada by Francis Drake and Queen Elizabeth in 1588. This defeat of Spanish Catholic forces pretty much sealed the future of history taught in American schools to this day and sadly fueled so very many great misconceptions about the Church. It has played a very significant part in the views of Protestant Americans toward Israel and the US role in protecting Israel at any cost. Because the view of Protestant Americans is that a physical third temple will be built and the Jews will sacrifice there yet again.
You just never know, the Russian forces today with bases in and around the Mediterranean could one day play a very vital role in the return of Christ. Putin has made so many statements emphasizing the crumbling of the Christian west. He warns us again and again the threat we face and yet nobody seems to understand what it is he is saying. I am not saying that he is to be trusted. I am saying though that he obviously has great foresight and can see the bigger picture of the real threats we face and what the future holds with the crumbling of Christianity in the West and the Wests very very great deception. If not, then why is it that Catholics are being persecuted and forced from their ancestral lands more so now than any time before?
I would not be surprised in the least to see Pope Francis making a trip to Russia. Maybe sooner than we think.

etoa, I know about most of what you have stated.

Personally, I need to see Vassula convert to the one true Faith because encouraging a false ecumenism does not come from God, if Vassula converted and then encouraged others to convert that would be from God, imho.

Satan is tricky, we know this to be true. He is not wearing red tights and carrying a pitchfork, I am pretty certain that Archbishop Fulton Sheen has stated as much.
A lot of this thread has been about this sort of thing. Satan is not going to make things easy for us. He will dress things up as close as he can to the real truth and
then he will throw in a few zingers for us which will either confuse us or put us at odds with each other or both. We know that his ultimate goal is not what God wants,
if we don't do our homework he will run us down like an out of control high-speed train, only this train can grab hold of us and take us straight to hell.

    Don,

I am referring to the conversion that we know should occur before the Second Coming and you are wise to be weary of a false ecumenism.

PS- That article was originally posted on the forum in a thread entitled, "Vassula Ryden" in all caps.

I am pretty sure that Catholic forces won the Battle of Lepanto
The Pope at the time ordered folks to pray the rosary for a successful outcome
Then he instituted the Feast of Our Lady of Victory on Oct 7 which was changed to OL of the Rosary
I remember hearing this on ewtn

The messages need no credence other than what has been given by God. Anyone who knows scripture and church teachings will know nothing in them are apart from them.

Yes, they did and in a dramatic and glorious fashion thanks be to God. I should have been more clear about the point I was trying to make and that was that Protestant forces were aligned against them. I think that in this day we have a commonality with those days, and that is that a great number of Protestants (at least here in the US) will willingly align themselves against the Church because they believe that they are doing God's will. IE what we see in Israel and Syria now which is furthering their goals of supporting Israel yet decimating Catholics who reside there now.

I would have been happy to leave it a number of posts ago when I wished Verne well but told him that I can't accept that his messages come from God unless they have the approval of the Church. I did try to get some clarity without introducing rancour to the discussion. Verne says that I don't know the number of times his friend was told not to proceed and he listened to the Church. I don't know what that means. If it means that he held off publicising the messages on the advice of someone in the Church, then I would like to know the status of that person and the reasons given for not publishing.

Thus far, we have only heard of priests and theologians approving of the messages. It seems strange to me that priests and theologians who believed that God was giving Verne messages for the whole world didn't see fit to pursue the matter in the Church. Rather than cause any offence, I will refrain from giving my opinion about the picture of God the Father.

It's surely too late for an imprimatur if all copies of the book have been distributed and there's no intention to do a reprint. It's never too late to request the Church to have the entire matter of the locutions/messages examined to ensure that there is nothing contrary to the faith. Talk of refuges and the defeat of the AC preceding an era of peace sound questionable to me.

You quote Scripture when you tell me that people will prophecy and that we should test the spirits. Who better to test the spirits than the successors of those to whom Jesus said "He who hears you hears Me"? So far, I have seen nothing but personal opinion and the often misused quote of Thomas Aquinas about faith and proof in an effort to divert attention from the fact that there is flimsy evidence that the messages are from God the Father. While I don't doubt Verne's sincerity, I continue to doubt the origin of the messages.

I wish Verne well and will try to refrain from posting further about GSWYL on this thread. I can't guarantee that I won't point out the fact that the messages are unapproved should I see them quoted elsewhere on the forum.

I think you have raised legitimate concerns but it is clearly a tender point with those who follow the messages. I think all you can do is just what you are doing. You raised the concern and now you are moving on.

  17. When one is familiar with messages and the fruits of Vassula (backed by Fr. Laurentin, Fr. Iannuzi, Fr. Jozo and Fr. Petar (priest chosen by Mirjana to receive secrets given to her in order to release them to the public and a well recognized other type of theologian of eschatology, I believe Evangelical but name escapes me at the moment, but I've heard him...a real impressive individual as well....) Frane Franic, Archbishop Emeritus; spiritual advisor, Fr. Michael O'Carroll, and many others of similar caliber, (and that's only within the larger Roman Catholic group of approvers) one sees a perfect person for such a mission of reuniting "churches". She's Greek Orthodox but has probably caused more exposure of the posers rather than workers within these various orthodox separated brethren which she explains as stubborn and scandalous splinterings of Christ's Body. She also knows enough about the history to realize that it will have to be the Roman Catholics who will have to bend more for the cause. When she met with "Bergoglio", at the time she saw one rather rare opening for such and when she heard that he became Pope she then also felt the possibility of a real opening to this start towards unity. Now if only the Church had as much of a track record for this long history of scandal thrown in the face of God to finally get as serious. As far as heaven's choice for using such an individual in such historical position:

Approaching the Orthodox priests, monks and bishops to acknowledge the Pope and to reconcile with sincerity with the Roman Church is not an easy task as our Lord says in one of the messages; it is like trying to swim in the opposite direction of a strong current, but after having seen how our Lord suffers in our division I could not refuse our Lord's request when asked to carry this cross; therefore, I have accepted this mission, yet not without having gone through (and still going through) many fires.

You have asked: "Why do you take up this mission?" My answer is, because I was called by God, I believed and I answered Him; therefore, I want to do God's will. One of Christ's first words were: "Which house is more important, your house or My House?" I answered, "Your House Lord." He said: "Revive My House, embellish My House and unite it."

If only there could be witnessed such effort and zeal due to love of Christ from His own perhaps heaven wouldn't have to go out on the highways and byways today to circumvent those who were invited but keep making excuses! The Spirit is busy "recreating" us in ways unexpected...esp. when still thinking only in "institutional" processes....since that facade only died a long time ago according to Fr. Malachi Martin.

    etoa,

What sort of bending do you think Vassula believes that Roman Catholics need to do?

I think most people on the forum are not in favor of the Church doing anymore bending.

If the aim is to bend the Church towards Protestantism, the Church will cease to be the Church.

    I disagree.
Fr Hardon makes clear the messages should never have been published.
And I don't think he would ever have bothered to read them if he knew they had been published, given that the messages come from one who admits to consecrating themself to the devil [and now hears from God the Father]and taking spiritual guidance from another self-proclaimed mystic.
