Catholic churches in France vandalized, set on fire & smeared with excrement (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Catholic churches in France are being targeted with arson attacks, vandalism, desecration of holy statues, and the destruction of the Eucharist. The attacks have been happening since the start of the year.

The Church of St. Sulpice in Paris, where the Da Vinci Code movie was filmed, was set on fire just after midday mass on Sunday, Le Parisien reports. Firefighters and police said the blaze was an arson attack.

In February, a 19th century statue of the Virgin Mary was smashed at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Houilles. The statue was “completely pulverized,” Father Francois-Laurent Heart said. “It is irreparable.” The church reported three incidents in 10 days, with a cross also thrown on the floor by vandals.

At Saint-Alain Cathedral in Lavaur, statues and crosses were smashed and an altar cloth was burned in February. A statue of Christ on a cross was also interfered with, as vandals twisted one of the arms to make it appear that Jesus was dabbing, La Depeche reports. Two teenagers were later arrested over the damage.

Meanwhile, the Notre-Dame des Enfants church in Nimes was looted and vandals used human excrement to draw a cross on the wall in February. Consecrated hosts of unleavened bread, which Catholics believe is the body of Jesus Christ, were found scattered outside with rubbish.

Also in February, eucharistic hosts were stolen and scattered around Notre-Dame church in Dijon, with Father Emmanuel Pic denouncing the attack as on the “heart of the Catholic faith.”

“Nothing of value has been broken, but it’s the intent that’s very shocking,” he told Bien Public.

This is horrible. A true sign of the times. I don't believe for a second it was due to "renovation work.". Wasn't another iconic cathedral (Saint-Sulpice if I remember correctly) just recently set ablaze in an arson attack? My guess would be by either muslims or the French government itself as a message to the blue collar French catholic yellow vest protesters.

I agree, I also have a very hard time believing that it was due to renovation work.

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked..."

and of course you know the dire part from our Our Lady's message so loins girded and armor up and she gave us what to do:

"Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved."

Do me a favor? The msm will never report if this was indeed terrorism. If you see or hear any evidence of terrorism, please post it here.

Devastating -- begun in 1160 by the Normans -- it looks really bad.

Such a beautiful church - so so sad.

While it is horrible to see this scene, God is not pleased with the many Catholic baptized in France who have stopped going to church there. My niece is a sister in the order of St. John in France and she has said the Catholic faith there is all but dead. Few go to church and in the streets as she evangelizes she said the millenials there don't even know who Jesus is. Sad all over the world, but France has opened their borders to Muslims for a long while and we are seeing the fruits of this as Cardinal Sarah recently wrote about mass immigration and it not being Gods will. I don't know how the fire started but my bet is its intentional.

Heart breaking. Christendom's finest monument up in flames. And maybe intentional. Dear God.

I think for those who are enemies of Catholicism an attack on Notre Dame like this would be looked at very positively, I'm afraid.

It's disgusting that anyone would post smiley's about this, as the InfoWars article that Brian posted above states. Absolutely horrific.

This is from a DailyMail article:

    ...
Our Lady of Paris: The 850-year-old cathedral that survived being sacked in the revolution to become Europe's most-visited historical monument

The Catholic cathedral, whose title translates to 'Our Lady', is Europe's most-visited monument and sees over 13million visitors every year.

It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Paris and contains the cathedra (bishop's throne) - a symbol of the bishop's teaching authority in the Catholic Church.

The two iconic towers of the cathedral are sixty-nine meters high, and were the tallest structures in Paris until the completion of the Eiffel Tower in 1889.

The north tower, which visitors can climb up, has a stairway of 387 steps that allow tourists to look over a see a collection of paintings and sculptures created throughout the ages of the cathedral's existence.

    ...

The cathedral has 10 bells, the heaviest bell - known as the boudon and weighing 13 tonnes - is called Emmanuel and has been rung to mark many historical events throughout time.

At the end of the First and Second World Wars the bell was rung to mark the end of the conflicts.

It is also rung to signify poignant events such as French heads of state dying or following horrific events such as the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers in New York in 2001.

Yes, I suspect Islam too. There has been a huge spate of attacks on Catholic Churches in France recently. Maye this will be a wake up call to them ; as they woke up in the Netherlands recently.

When I read the news, I imagined that this might be an omen of great bad times for Paris and all of France, as set forth in the countless prophecies that mention the destruction of Paris by fire.

That was my first reaction. I just posed this question to Desmond Birch over on Facebook. He said he'd look into it; I'll report back if he replies.
