Do some research. Climate change/global warming alarmism is propaganda. You have fallen for it hook, line and sinker!
Father Z says that we are bound to honour the pope, his implication being that if Pope Francis feels honoured by being attacked, well carry on honouring him...
You know, the hypocritical thing about this whole climate change agenda is that 99% of Americans do live responsibly and do not intentionally abuse the planet or knowingly support those who do and yet we are constantly preached at. We have pretty much little to no say in what takes place that is considered polluting the earth or cause for global warming. It was men like Clinton who pushed NAFTA and GATT down the throats of the American public literally ensuring that American businesses, jobs, and products that were made here meeting EPA rules and guidelines were stripped from this country and sent packing to places like Mexico and China where there are virtually no rules in place to stop such things. Unless one lives in a major metropolis there are no alternatives to things such as personal transportation. America is simply too large and too spread out to even conceivably offer such a thing and make it work financially. Unless of course we literally set some sort of litmus test and force everyone to live in cities. I'd like to see them try that one.
Global warming is not happening. Your thermometers are not actually going up. A recently released study says that global temperatures have not risen since 2005. A famous advocate of global warming, Michael Mann, has just been proven a fraudster, losing a court case in the UK. He tried to cover up the proven reality that the medieval world was warmer than the present. The assertion that there is any global warming has not been proven. That global warming, if it existed, might necessarily be a bad thing, has never been discussed. Higher temperatures and more CO2 would cause more plant growth and overall such a situation might be more beneficial to the common good. There has been no proof whatever presented that global warming is caused primarily by human activity. The star we orbit would have far greater potential to influence temperatures. The Second Vatican Council (I think it was in Gaudium et spes) made it irrefutibly clear that no person (and it made no exception for popes) may appropriate the authority of the Church for issues that are not connected with matters of Faith or Doctrine. This appropriation is exactly what this self-proclaimed Vatican II pope is engaging in.
Indeed. It is all about power. It provides an opportunity for those who desire power to invade every aspect of people's lives-their sexuality and reproduction, what they eat, how they warm themselves, how they get from place to place; it is the key to ultimate tyranny. As C.S. Lewis said, beware most those who would take over your lives 'for your own good'. As Ronald Reagan said, the nine most frightening words are 'I'm from the Government and I'm here to help'.
Yeah, it's settled science alright. Political science that is. https://principia-scientific.org/breaking-fatal-courtroom-act-ruins-michael-hockey-stick-mann/
And to boot, the UN has relied on Mann's hokey publicly paid for science to back its push for climate change and specifically that it hinges on man made global warming. I think we can count on the US telling the UN right where it can stick that hockey stick of Mann's.
Indeed. I just read a review of a book written by the Secretary of the Pontifical Academy for Latin. Even after reading the review, I don't really know what was the purpose of writing the book but the author mentioned that the Vatican is hoping that the United Nations will save the language from being "lost to humanity". I did learn something from the review which most Catholics wouldn't be aware of, and which should be of great concern to the Bishop of Rome. Quoting from the review (emphasis mine): "Under the heading of “the miserable failure of Christian initiation,” the author brings to our attention some shocking statistics of Italian ignorance of basic Catholic doctrine. Although Italians self-identifying as Catholic still make up the vast majority of the nation, we learn that a sociological study in 2014 revealed that “50% of the population cannot distinguish between Jesus and Moses and that 60% know almost none of the commandments besides the seventh, ‘Thou shalt not steal’”! (98). I suspect that even the United States would not be that bad." Here's a link to the review: https://www.catholicworldreport.com/2019/09/02/for-the-love-of-latin/
Here is a more recent article about Mann and his science that the UN is relying on. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/08/michael_manns_treering_circus.html Michael Mann's Tree-Ring Circus By Daniel John Sobieski This has been a tough week for climate hustler Michael Mann, who lost his defamation and libel lawsuit against respected climatologist and warming skeptic Dr. Tim Ball at the same time it was announced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that there has been no U.S. warming since 2005. Mann, who poses as a climatologist at Penn State, has had his court case against genuine climate scientist Dr. Tim Ball dismissed, with Mann ordered to pay court costs, for failure to produce supporting evidence to prove his claim that global temperatures took a sharp upward turn when the Industrial Revolution and fossil-fuel use began pouring CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. He didn’t because he can’t, and the fact is that the global warning he speaks of is Mann-made, a fantasy based on a career of perpetrating climate fraud, as indicated by NOAA’s report that there hasn’t been any U.S. warming for nearly a decade and a half and maybe even beyond that. As noted by James Taylor, director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center for Climate and Environmental Policy at the Heartland Institute, in a piece for Real Clear Energy: When American climate alarmists claim to have witnessed the effects of global warming, they must be referring to a time beyond 14 years ago. That is because there has been no warming in the United States since at least 2005, according to updated data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In January 2005, NOAA began recording temperatures at its newly built U.S. Climate Reference Network (USCRN). USCRN includes 114 pristinely maintained temperature stations spaced relatively uniformly across the lower 48 states. NOAA selected locations that were far away from urban and land-development impacts that might artificially taint temperature readings… There is also good reason to believe U.S. temperatures have not warmed at all since the 1930s. Raw temperature readings at the preexisting stations indicate temperatures are the same now as 80 years ago. All of the asserted U.S. warming since 1930 is the product of the controversial adjustments made to the raw data. The use of properly positioned temperature recording stations coupled with satellite date, a relatively recent innovation that covers the whole earth, has given us a more realistic picture than computer models that can’t even predict the past and fraudulently manipulate raw data from dubious sources. Meteorologist Anthony Watts documented the inaccuracy of old weather station data used by NASA on his SurfaceStations.org website. Watts said that “90 percent of them don’t meet (the government’s) old, simple rule called the ‘100-foot rule” for keeping thermometers 100 feet or more from biasing influence.” Many of the U.S. stations were in locations such as paved driveways, near rooftop exhaust vents, even near idling jet engines. In 2016, Mann testified before the Democratic Platform Drafting Committee that actual data didn’t really matter because we could actually see climate change happening. The Washington Times noted both his appearance and at least one contradiction to his claims based, not on computer models, but on actual empirical observation: Leading climate doomsayer Michael Mann recently downplayed the importance of climate change science, telling Democrats that data and models “increasingly are unnecessary” because the impact is obvious… Mr. Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State University, spoke before the committee June 17 in Phoenix… Mr. Mann told the panel that “the signal of climate change is no longer subtle, it is obvious,” citing hurricanes, flooding in Texas and South Carolina, the California drought and “record heat” in Arizona. Skeptics have hotly challenged the link between rising carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere and “extreme weather” events, noting, for example, that hurricane activity is on the decline. A nine-year “hurricane drought” of Category 3 storms starting in 2006 beat the previous mark of eight years from 1861-1868, the longest such streak since such recording began in 1851, according to a May 2015 study by the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Mann has proven adept over his career at making controversial, no, fraudulent adjustments made to the raw data. Mann might be remembered as one of the participants in what Investor’s Business Daily dubbed a “tree-ring circus” -- the Climategate scandal. As IBD noted at the time: Mann was at the heart of the Climate-gate scandal in 2009, when emails were unearthed from Britain's Climate Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia. In one email sent to Mann and others, CRU director Philip Jones speaks of the "trick" of filling in gaps of data in order to hide evidence of temperature decline: "I've just completed Mike's nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e. from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline (in global temperatures)," the email read. It was that attempt to "hide the decline" through the manipulation of data that helped bring down the global warming house of cards. The graph created by professor Mann and his colleagues carefully selected and manipulated tree-ring data to supposedly prove that air temperatures had been stable for 900 years, then soared off the charts -- in a pattern resembling a hockey stick -- in the 20th century due to man-made greenhouse gases. Mann et al. performed the neat trick of making the Medieval Warm Period (about A.D. 800 to 1400) and the Little Ice Age (A.D. 1600 to 1850) statistically disappear. As Investor’s Business Daily also noted: The graph relied on data from trees on the Yamal Peninsula in Siberia. Here, too, the results were carefully selected. Just 12 trees from the 252 cores in the CRU's Yamal data set were used. A larger data set of 34 tree cores from the vicinity showed no dramatic recent warming, and warmer temperatures in the middle ages. They were not included. “Hiding the decline” and any actual evidence that global warming hype was nothing more an attempt by climate change scammers to impose what has become a religion. MIT Professor Richard Lindzen is quoted in the Daily Caller questioning the tenets of this new religion: Throughout history, governments have twisted science to suit a political agenda. Global warming is no different, according to Dr. Richard Lindzen of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. “Global climate alarmism has been costly to society, and it has the potential to be vastly more costly. It has also been damaging to science, as scientists adjust both data and even theory to accommodate politically correct positions,” writes Lindzen in the fall 2013 issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons… Lindzen compares global warming to past politicized scientific movements: the eugenics movement in the early 20th Century and Lysenkoism in the Soviet Union under Stalin. However, the MIT professor argues that global warming goes even beyond what these past movements in terms of twisting science. “Global Warming has become a religion,” writes Lindzen. “A surprisingly large number of people seem to have concluded that all that gives meaning to their lives is the belief that they are saving the planet by paying attention to their carbon footprint.” The goal is to use climate change as a means to increase government power over every aspect of our lives, what we make, how we make it, what energy we use, what cars we drive, even what food we eat. And now the high priests of the global warming religion are demanding what other false religions have demanded -- human sacrifices upon their altar. As Michael Mann has found out, facts are stubborn things and tree rings don’t always ring true. Looks like beef farmers' days are numbered and every day will be a day of abstinence in the Vatican. There's money in climate change alarmism. Al Gore went vegan about six years ago: Now, we all have to be vegan to reverse climate change: https://www.livekindly.co/al-gore-vegan-burgers-help-reverse-climate-damage/ Here's where money comes into it: https://www.climatedepot.com/2019/0...firm-invests-200-million-in-meat-substitutes/ And it's not just Al Gore. The likes of Leo DiCaprio and Bill Gates have also invested in meat substitutes. How does paying someone to offset your carbon footprint eliminate your contribution to greenhouse gas emissions? https://www.investors.com/politics/...risy-is-as-big-as-his-energy-sucking-mansion/
From Sweden (translation via Google translate): https://twnews.se/se-news/forslaget-i-tv4-ata-manniskor-for-att-radda-klimatet The Proposal in TV4: Eating People to Save the Climate Anyone who watched TV4 After five on Tuesday may have been, to say the least, surprised. There, the idea was presented to start eating people. The feature is about the fair "Gastro Summit - about the future of food" in Stockholm, where the behavioral scientist Magnus Söderlund holds seminars on the possibility of eating human flesh - to "save the climate". - What makes most of us react instinctively with disgust when talking about eating human flesh to save the climate ?, wonders host Tilde de Paula. Magnus Söderlund answers: - First of all, it is that this person who is to be eaten must be dead. One problem could be that dead bodies overall are taboo. In addition, criticism arises against defiling a dead body. Another explanation, says Söderlund, is that many are "slightly conservative" when it comes to eating something they are not used to, ie other people. The conclusion is that it can be difficult to get the Swedes to become cannibals for the sake of the climate. However, according to the researcher, it is important from a sustainability perspective to discuss different options for the future. I suppose it's a relief that the person to be eaten must be dead. The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mr. Soderlund appointed to some Vatican Dicastry. Dialogue y'know .
Just tossing in a comment regarding Americans listening to the news. Many Americans, myself included, have given up cable tv. We are very much aware that the top news channels are not really news but political commentary. I get my news from local stations without commentary. And someday we will find an alternative energy source, I think we are very close. Don't put your faith in man, put your faith in God.
I'm not really worried too much about the Holy Father's approach to Climate Change as such. I would be more concerned on back attempts to change the teachings of the Church and certain Signs of a very, very Dark Agenda such as people who are clearly homosexuals , or homosexualist being made Cardinals (Among other things). But there is one thing about the climate change debate that is of huge concern and that is that it is taking a very Dark Turn on many levels. For instance in suggesting that people should no longer have children. That we return to a lifestyle that would put us back in the caves and so on. In other words a narrative that is frankly anti human, that sees man as the enemy. This, it seems to me, is demonic.
Well spotted. It's weird. And sick. I came across that TV report by accident. I thought at first that it was a spoof but then I did a web search and came across an article on some Christian website where they had a link to the Swedish website. The person who wrote the article on the Christian website didn't seem to take it too seriously. He speculated that the Swedish behavioural scientist could have been engaged in some method he attributed to Hegel whereby two conflicting positions are discussed, thesis and antithesis, and the discussion results in a synthesis. Oddly enough, later on I read this article in Catholic World Report, where the same Hegelian method was referred to in the context of Socialism and the Amazonian Synod: https://www.catholicworldreport.com...st-myth-igor-shafarevich-and-modern-nihilism/ It's all way over my head.
I really like Catholic Word Report. It's a great source for learning about what's happening in the Church. Talking about dark agendas, that new Synodal process the Germans are implementing has dark agenda written all over it. The essence of it seems to be that the Church in Germany will be run by a Synodal Assembly of 200 people drawn from various lay groups, priests and bishops. The draft Statutes for the Assembly have been translated into numerous languages so presumably they are hoping that their model will be adopted in other countries. All 69 Bishops will have a vote but the largest voting block will be drawn from the Central Committee of the lay Catholic group ZdK. I get the impression that the ZdK are the real power behind the throne in the German Church. Not your average lector, EMHC, or Parish Council, these people know how to get their way. Reading this, I thought "Catholic Spring on steroids": https://www.catholicworldreport.com...re-the-central-committee-of-german-catholics/ And back to the question of funding, did you know that Argentina has been going through a period of austerity, with inflation at 50%? The Argentinian Bishops are appealing to the Government to "declare a food emergency". And Caritas, the Catholic charity, is in overdrive helping the poor: https://www.catholicworldreport.com...ops-ask-government-to-declare-food-emergency/ Money talks, even in Christ's Church, and the Germans have plenty of money. Does Caritas work like SVP where all money collected is spent locally, or is it an international Church charity?
