Well not everyone is aware; In the Blessed Sac. Chapel and Church when its practically empty, I still get people sitting directly in front of me or directly behind me. This was an annoyance before as it would crimp your freedom to either sit or kneel as you pleased, alternating as you prayed.

But now the situation is more dire, I stand outside the chapel sometimes and mention something to someone leaving who was sitting/kneeling too close to me in a near empty room and they just cant comprehend, well they never did before. We need to practice 'social distancing': 3-6 ft away from others.

Frankly I dont think they should close the churches, but should dismiss people from their Sunday obligation prior to trying to close the churches.
I've bought a portable chair/stool to attend mass with, so I can just choose an unpopulated spread of floor and sit down away from others.

In the US we have great healthcare. If you go to an emergency room they must take you, even if you do not have personal insurance. Everyone over 65 has medicare and most everyone I know has a supplemental that pays whatever medicare does not pay. The poor people have Medicaid. Everyone in the middle has their own ins. or is provided by their employer. Some of the deductibles are very high for hospital, but the hospitals let you pay a small amount, doesn't matter how long it takes to pay it off.

we have the best Health Care system in the world....everybody is covered. If you are poor you have Medicaid, if you are over 65 you have Medicare. My private insurance with the teachers union is fantastic and I never see a bill. It's always covered.....

Where are you getting your info. I have been an RN in the US for 40 years. Our Health Care system is second to none!

I'm seeing a report of House Democrats wanting to "un-do" Pres Trump's travel ban/restrictions during this crisis.

This is after they denounced him as not doing enough to prevent the crisis.

    Contradiction much?

It’s safe for me, but only because I recently had my blood levels checked and after taking 5000iu per day for five years, it was only 49, where 31-80 is normal.

I think anyone can take 5000iu per day safely. I wouldn’t recommend increasing that to 10,000iu per day unless you know your current blood Vitamin D level and how you’ve responded to Vitamin D supplements in the past.

That said, if someone has a real risk of being infected in the near further, and has never taken any Vitamin D and has little sun exposure or lives north of Atlanta Georgia during September to May to make their own, I would definitely start on 5000iu a day, and 10,000iu per day short term (i.e., only for the duration of the pandemic) poses less threat to your health than coronavirus infection itself.

Oh that's wonderful. I'll stop worrying then. Everyone has excellent healthcare. Great.

  8. I disagree. And you haven't heard of the miracle of "socialized medicine" called Obamacare? Rather, Trump is attempting to fill in the gaps of that mess....This administration has been proactive, esp. w/ stopping entry from known contaminated countries. Trump moved as the facts warranted and the experts advised. We have far fewer infected, at this time, and only around 31 or 32 deaths, mostly again in the compromised already sector than much smaller countries. The reason Italy is so hard hit is because they did not catch the travel coming from China which they didn't figure could also come over borders from other EU countries and not just directly from China. " The Lombardy outbreak came to light when a 38-year-old Italian tested positive in Codogno, a comune in the province of Lodi. According to his wife, he had met an Italian friend who had returned from China on 21 January, who subsequently tested negative.[23]

Initially there was no suspicion of COVID-19, so no additional precautionary measures were taken, and the virus was able to infect other patients and health workers.[24]"
    ...............
"Presidents of Lombardia, Attilio Fontana, and president of Veneto, Luca Zaia, shared the opinion of Italy’s healthcare practitioners and were the first, in the late days of January, to suggest the introduction of compulsory quarantine for all people returning to Italy from China.

Both of them, along with professor Burioni, were accused by representatives of left wings parties in Italy of speaking like “fascio-leghisti,” modern day Italian fascists. (similar to the Antifa hired thugs here)

The Government’s answer to what had appeared to be, since the beginning, a health emergency of immense proportions, was that of stopping direct flights from mainland China (disregarding the fact many would fly through other countries) and “advising” but not imposing any quarantine.

The result of this lack of insight is, today, in plain view."

While the left here tried the same tactic of labeling Trump w/ "xenophobia", etc., when he banned travel from China he simply ignored them....he's used to it by now.

Trump, from the beginning, has always emphasized that his administration would exist for Americans first. And that stands even for those who have been effected abroad....they are entitled to be brought home to safety while the precautions for their re-entry are in force and they must self quarantine. Trump is always the target from those who need to look in the mirror to fix their own lack of proper preparation by their own leaders and throw their gripes in that direction. I wonder how many of those begin their meetings about this crazy virus w/ prayer as does VP Pence who is doing a great job overseeing this mess. And Trump said that UK was attempting to handle the crisis w/ good policies so he sees them as less of a danger and their borders are firmer. The mainland EU allowed movement between borders of those originally infected from the countries within. Just look at what Merkel recently announced about expectations there of 70%, at least, of the infected.....as if her own open border policies haven't been responsible.

Your statement is irresponsible in times like this. Stick to what you know. It's not right to make mass generalities about a country you know nothing about. I would not even begin to worry about Great Britain as I know nothing about your healthcare system.

What you are saying sounds like it came from some kind of trash newspaper. None of it is true. And Trump stated it came from China which it did and the Chinese were late in confining the virus and caused an outbreak. That is the truth. Stop slamming my country and president. Be Christian. These are hard times Bella.

Some folks do fall through the cracks, but the idea that “Americans” in general are lacking access to or the insurance to pay for health care is simply a minority party (and liberal European) talking point, not reality.

I’m speaking as an American doctor who was in private practice for 21 years.

Unfortunately the Democrat “ObamaCare” did negatively affect that situation though, as it drove up monthly premiums 2 to 4 times what they were, drove deductibles through the roof, and eliminated more affordable plans us self employed folks could actually afford.

Stay home. I have the same issues and whilst I plan attending daily Mass I won't be going anywhere else.
I'm praying the 54 day rosary novena and praying Psalm 91 every day for protection for my family and community that this will pass quickly

  12. My holistic doc, when one is beginning symptoms of a cold, orders Vit C (which he never gives otherwise except through foods such as grapefruits) at 2000 a day and Vit D3 at 50,000 a day for 3 days. But daily amount for D3 (K2-D3) ordered for me is 5000. I believe that older women and men need more.

Oh dear, I seem to have upset you. All I said was I'm worried (genuinely) for the good people of the US in all this but I can see that was the wrong sentiment to express from the long defensive epistle you've fired back. Wow.

This site is like treading on eggshells. No wonder I hardly ever post on here. Lots of angry people.

  15. I just like facts. And we hear enough of the opposite, the entire last 3 years and even prior to that, here from the Commie (socialists), Deep Staters/globalists/NWO, folks which seems the only "propaganda" that goes around the world these days. So I can see why people form opinions that are so misinformed. The only way they may hear otherwise might be only from those offering facts of history within such "epistles" from those who care.

Sorry to hear that, Don. I'm expecting the same to happen here but we do have Archbishop Sample, a real hero to us Catholics. Our Governor has already limited any gathering to 250 people. My church holds 1900 people.

Be Christian - in what way is what I have said unChristian please ? Where did I "slam" your country ? Or your president? I simply related facts, supported by evidence to express my concern. I have no idea why this anger is being directed at me. It's pretty nasty.

As for the virus being foreign- no, it isn't. It's a respiratory tract infection, like the flu, but worse, that is is over a hundred countries. How can it be "foreign" if your own citizens have it ? It had to start somewhere didn't it ?

In future please scroll past my comments rather than attack me. We believe in free speech in my country.

I'm sorry but I haven't a clue what you're on about. I expressed concern for a situation that I see being mishandled. I'm not a communist or a Deep State (whatever that is). Calm down please.
