I do not know what the truth is but I want to consider both sides because the economic, geopolitical, and every day life effects of this are huge. Isn't it interesting we're not getting more of a break down on who's dying? 60% of men in China are smokers -- there was nothing mentioned about this in the mainstream media. Also, I've read in multiple places especially after the SARS in the early 2000s that Asians are more likely to die of these corona viruses. I guess that would be racist. What percentage of the northern Italian population is Asian? What percentage is over 80? Now we hear millenials are getting sick in France and Italy but of these how many smoke or have another underlying condition? Or for them is it just the flu (eg corona virus) and people are just getting it like they do every year. But the media has to immediately report it and make a huge deal of it.

If you look at it as an evil strategy invented to manipulate the world it's working well. Weren't there a number of exorcists last fall saying that a great new evil was coming? Maybe it's a bad bug that kills lot of people or maybe it's a globalist attempt to tighten control and get rid of all these populist leaders especially Trump.

I think we should pray that the truth becomes very clear -- that we get 20/20 vision about this ordeal.

One of my favorite prayers is that the truth will come out and people will be helped. Thank you for suggesting it.

Nope! Cowards! They preach, but they do not practice if fear is to great!! I would rather go to Church and receive Jesus in Holy Eucharist and die from a virus than live as a coward to the faith. We are being tested as a Church and they are failing us! It starts right from the top and trickles down to the local pastor....... Where is their faith they preach to us day after day, week after week? The Mass is the most powerful weapon the world has against ALL evil and our church leaders cower fold like a broken kite.

Well it just happened. No Mass or the sacraments in my diocese anymore. This is so surreal to me. They are leaving the adoration chapel open at my parish at this time as long as no more than 4 people are in there. I happened to be in there for the past hour as the news came out. Just stunned no more Eucharist for Lord knows how long. Thankfully I went to confession next week and received the Eucharist this past Sunday with my kids thinking it may be the last time.

Dear Lord, please forgive all these Bishops and Cardinals, for they do not know what they are doing! And Please Lord be with your faithful in this awful awful time.

I have a a sad story to share with all of you.

My husband brought his car in for a checkup to the dealer this week and the man who took care of the paperwork for the car told him the following story.

He told my husband that his wife had done a lot of shopping at Costco a few days ago and waited in line for a long while to pay for the items that she was able to find there. After loading up her car she stopped in at Target to look for a few more things that she needed. When she came out of Target she found that her car had been broken into and all of her Costco purchases were stolen.

Initially, I hesitated to share this story because it just makes me sad but I thought that maybe it could help someone here.

The bottom line is, I think that we just need to be a little more careful about a lot of things right now besides taking care of our health.

We need to be on our guard a little more to help prevent this sort of thing from occurring if we can. (y)

  14. When I was at the grocery store the other day I noted how easy it would be to grab stuff and run for the door (I wasn't thinking of doing it); under normal times people wouldn't because they'd get arrested, but if they're hungry and broke and a couple people do it then a hundred will be doing it and the police can't respond to that. I'm trying to stock up on food a bit.

Had a dream last night as I don't normally dream. But I felt it would pass re COV 19.

Irish govt obessed with secrecy re today figures didnt include 1 death but HSE replied that they only take data at 12 noon even the day isn't over until 6pm.

I think, Fatima, that it's best to leave the recriminations for another day. We're all in this together and we need to encourage and help each other as much as we can. Being a Bishop must be an almost overwhelming burden right now. It's a burden I couldn't carry. We don't know what pressure was put on them or what information was shared with them which influenced their decisions. Sure, some of them are cowards as are some priests but they aren't all cowards, lukewarm or apostates. We don't have daily Mass in our parish but we do have daily Adoration and Confession. Given the age profile of so many of our priests, I think that making themselves available for Confession is very brave.

I've just watched a video about Fatima which came up in my youtube feed. I'm posting it here in the hope that it will encourage everyone to not lose hope.

Everyone on the forum is already in my daily prayer intentions. Joan's Dad is included now. Those of us who can't go to Mass, Adorations, Confessions or even visit Jesus in the tabernacle can always pray the Rosary. I've taken to praying all 20 mysteries and trying to pray them more devoutly although I need to work harder on controlling my wandering mind. I don't get nudges or inspiration at Adorations but I was encourage to hear from a lady who does. The message was "Don't worry. I have you in the palm of my hand".

Here's the video. It seems to be the last in a series of videos on Fatima made by EWTN.

Incidentally, I popped into the supermarket today. Not many people there and I saw loo roll and kitchen roll on the shelves. Tonic water has rocketed in price, probably because supplies of the cheap stuff from the far East are taking longer to get here.

Many thanks to you all for your prayers for my dad, it means the world to our family. We finally got an update from the doctor, and we received some positive news. My dad was not placed in critical care, so this is very encouraging. He was in very bad shape when we brought him in, but there has actually been some improvement since then! I am still holding out hope that he is not infected with the Coronavirus. He was tested for all sorts of things including flu, but the lab is so backed up we probably won't know for sure until sometime tomorrow.

  20. I've been concerned about this possibility.....and thinking too about when the planned checks go out to help those being laid off....that many may be stolen prior to the persons receiving them. Maybe that's being considered beforehand. While the news doesn't promote the good deeds being done it seems that this bad news so often gets overly displayed to make people lose hope for devious motivations.
