You have been richly blessed, Josephite. What a generous and merciful Father we have. And your concern is always for the others who have been locked out.
Our Priest changed adoration to a drive to system. Our Lord is placed in the window at the rectory from 8am till 9pm daily. It has always been 24 hour till now. Those signed for the daily hours before are expected to adore for the hours now. (And of course do). Any one else can adore during these new hours. He also started drive up window confessions 2 hours per day. Well clear of the 6 feet social distance. Our daily masses are broadcast on YouTube now along with a spiritual communion prayer during what would be communion. he was featured on CTV news morning show about the top 2 things. He is very holy and progressive considering he is pushing 70 years.
This is such a faith building story Josephite. Thankyou for sharing it with us. I too feel the need to up my Rosaries for our priests. Again thankyou. God bless.
You are, unfortunately , exactly right. One step at a time and remember to Trust God. If we quiet our hearts and minds, in the silence He will lead us
You have been richly blessed, Josephite. Yes I know! But why? I can assure you that I am not deserving. Therefore I know it is because His love is so unfathomable and so consuming for all!
Amen! this virus will quickly fade without realizing the dire predictions of millions of deaths they used to scare us into this situation and we will think we were saved. But we’d be wise to look at the reasons why they did this. Keep the lamps lit and ready, all. And Trust God
I've pondered this about my own blessings. It is simply I think the unfathomable generosity of the Father. And His willingness to answer the prayers of our family members who have gone before us. It seemed to me once I got an insight into this--scores of Irish ancestors who had fought and in some cases died to keep the faith. I really felt their love and strength as a "cloud of witnesses" interceding for me. I know for sure it was nothing I did to receive it.
He sounds very adaptable. I'd agree he sounds holy, but does that word belong in the same sentence as 'progressive'? In fact, I think he's very traditional; his premises are orthodox, it's just that he has had to be flexible in exercising them. Here in the diocese of Cashel and Emly in Ireland, we seem to have been more or less abandoned to our own devices. Maybe there are reams of information all over the internet, but if so, they've all passed me by. No Masses, no Sacraments and the churches are closed. And the silence is deafening. If one accesses the website of the diocese, one will be flabbergasted at the almost complete void of pastoral information. Apart from an announcement of the timing of RTE coverage of the Easter ceremonies and a notice that the diocesan pilgrimage to (closed) Lourdes has been cancelled, everything is considerably out of date. What do these people actually do? What are they doing now? I suppose I'm to believe they're deep in prayer.
When one takes the Darwinian option, if one finds oneself as a loser in the survival of the fittest, one can't complain. However, we're not Darwinists here, or we shouldn't be here, if we are. So may God bless him and ensure his prompt recovery.
Boris Johnson also has a child on the way. Also is father of four previous children. Praying for him, Carrie (mother of baby on the way), and his family.
