I have a hard time agreeing with this but this isn’t necessarily a new stance by the church. The MMR and chicken pox vaccines were made using aborted babies and have been used for years.

    From the linked article:

“Fortunately, the document Moral Reflections has clarified the situation:

The lawfulness of the use of these vaccines should not be misinterpreted as a declaration of the lawfulness of their production, marketing, and use, but is to be understood as being a passive material cooperation and, in its mildest and remotest sense … [is] morally justified as an extrema ratio [extreme reason] due to the necessity to provide for the good of one’s children and of the people who come in contact with the children [pregnant women].

Dr. Edward J. Furton, a leading Catholic bioethicist, writes:

It seems impossible for an individual to cooperate with an action that is now completed and exists in the past. Clearly, use of a vaccine in the present does not cause the one who is immunized to share in the immoral intention or action of those who carried out the abortion in the past. Neither does such use provide some circumstance essential to the commission of that past act. Thus, use of these vaccines would seem permissible.[4]

The Pope and church should be pushing for a vaccine that does not use aborted babies. With all of the advances in science and tech there really should be another way. The church should have been standing up against these other vaccines at the time. The judgement that it’s morally permissible for people to use these kind of vaccines doesn’t give the companies any reason to change.

Just another trojan horse aimed at destroying catholic teaching. Kumbaya. No need to repent or convert. The teachings of this so called pope. Everything about him is abhorent.

Do we honestly believe God sees it the way they do? I know the scripture "he who hears you hears Me" but can that apply to this situation. What a mess.

Another way the church, at least in the US, condones vaccines is that you have to have them in order to attend Catholic schools. No religious exemptions, only medical.

The Catholic martyrs must be turning in their graves. Mind you the MMR is also tainted but we did not know that when we took it.
    Very sad.

Demand ethical alternatives and refuse to use those that are not. It is the only way and the Vatican has asked us to do it. Finally, this issue is getting the attention it deserves.

No doubt they are. This vatican would come up with an exception to all of them.

Let's be honest. This group of corrupt Jesuits probably have an exception for why Christ didn't have to be crucified to save us.

The passage of time is irrelevant when considering the consequences and of an evil act like abortion.

There is still a cooperation with the initial evil in taking a vaccine derived from the abortion of an innocent.

Oxford-AstraZeneca: Denmark suspends vaccine 'as a precaution'

Denmark has temporarily halted use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as a precaution, after reports of a small number of blood clots and one death.

The Danish health authority said it was too early to say whether there was a link to the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Austria earlier stopped using a batch of the drug, prompting the EU medicines agency to say there was no indication the vaccine caused blood clots.

The company says its safety has been studied extensively in clinical trials.

"Patient Safety is the highest priority for AstraZeneca," a spokesperson said.

"Regulators have clear and stringent efficacy and safety standards for the approval of any new medicine, and that includes Covid-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca."

Peer-reviewed data confirmed it had been "generally well tolerated", the statement added.

The Danish decision came days after Austria suspended use of a particular batch of the drug because a woman died 10 days after taking it. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Luxemburg have also stopped using the batch.

They got backed into a corner after pushing this vaccine without years of trial. I think God has had enough, years ago.

The thing is, it is like an ice berg. We can see certain grave problems surfacing about the sea already with this experimental vaccine at this very early stage.

What about the serious problems beneath the surface that we cannot see?

I guess the one thing that can be said is that this is a test on who we will obey. The current administration or God's word. The Church has stood against abortion for many years. And suddenly it's ok to use a product that has been derived from an abortion? The only thing I can say is, the pope is not speaking ex cathedra, or however it's put. He's giving his opinion only. It isn't the same as speaking about morals and that. Anyway, I'm going to stand by my decision to not get the vaccine at the moment. If they can come up with an acceptable alternative, fine. But otherwise, no.
