Sadly Brian, the Catholic Church pushed good people into it who otherwise would probably not have taken it. They were to be the voice of moral authority, but they have demonstrated that they’ve lost their morale authority.
Is it any wonder why so many faithful are confused. But, it is true that members of the Church hierarchy are still promoting these vaccines to the faithful.
I faced pressure to get the vax yesterday from my Uncle. The same for whom MOG members kindly prayed for, and who recovered from Covid. I wanted to be calm and charitable but clear. I said a firm but polite "no". There are too many issues with this vaccine like genetic manipulation. That's beside the aborted fetuses used in testing or production. It's a personal decision, to be sure, but for me, all that is too close to comfort.

Whichever one, and I am thinking it might be two of them, that use (used) fetal cells, I will seek to stay away from. At first, I thought that exempted Johnson and Johnson but now, I am not so sure on that one either. That said, speaking just for myself, we are just common people trying to get by, I would not be too quick to throw stones.
TinTM, my Archbishop gave an interview and was asked about getting the vaccine; he advised that we should avoid the J & J vaccine.
...the thing is, I respect your right to receive the vaccine. My right however to decline it, is not - and will not be respected. It seems the 'my body, my choice' applies only to some people - not all, unfortunately.
Thanks for the welcome all. To the best of my knowledge, Pfizer confirmed that their Covid vaccine does not contain any foetal cell lines. It is a synthetic pharmaceutical product. As for having the right to decline the vaccine - absolutely, it’s a personal choice. When I said having the vaccine is a ‘no brainer’ I simply meant that vaccinated, one has better protection from catching Covid, and if one is unfortunate enough to catch it, one is better protected from getting severely ill. It makes sense, my opinion, that’s all.
No, the COVID-19 vaccines do not contain any aborted fetal cells. However, Pfizer and Moderna did perform confirmation tests (to ensure the vaccines work) using fetal cell lines. And Johnson & Johnson uses fetal cell lines in vaccine development, confirmation and production. But it's important to have the full context: Fetal cell lines are not the same as fetal tissue. Fetal cell lines are cells that grow in a laboratory. They descend from cells taken from elective abortions in the 1970s and 1980s. Those individual cells from the 1970s and 1980s have since multiplied into many new cells over the past four or five decades, creating fetal cell lines. Current fetal cell lines are thousands of generations removed from the original fetal tissue. They do not contain any tissue from a fetus.
