If anyone cannot find a master to teach him how
to pray, let him take this glorious saint [Joseph] as his master, and he will not go astray.

Glorious St Joseph the worker, pray with us and for us, on this your feast day; lead us all in our rosaries today and especially throughout this month dedicated to your Beloved spouse, the Blessed Virgin Mother of God and His Church, Mary Most Holy, our Mother and Queen . Amen

Here is a brilliant Talk of Fr Calloway, at a man's conference on the 5th December 2020, 3 days before, Pope Frances declares the Year of St Joseph on the 8 December 2020. It's one of his finer talks, very touching.

It is consoling for Catholics to be in the arms of Jesus, Mary and St Joseph, especially today in the year of St Joseph!
How beautiful does this feel! , we are being especially protected against heresy and pride. Thank you Jesus, Mary and St Joseph for this protection!

I have been dismayed when reading posts, even today, where we are still subjected to a prideful cult, with blasphemous demotion of St Joseph!

This is happening even in the year dedicated to St Josephs whose singular place in redemption can not be usurped! but we have a cult amongst us that continues to replace St Joseph, with an alternative and this alternative is a female! who in her self stated sinfulness somehow surpasses St Joseph in his unique holiness ?

Are we expected to believe that the Holy family is somehow deficient because St Joseph is below this "new women of the 20 century!" should the Holy Family consist of two women and Jesus? No longer JMJ but JML

Does this sound like correct Catholic teaching or is it abhorrent on many levels?

I can't but grieve the enormous outrage this transgression has on the Holy Family! let alone to the Blessed Trinity Himself!

This prideful sin against the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Chaste Heart of St Joseph will however be answered by God.!

In the apparitions of Our Lady of Good success in Ecuador in the 1600, God states that in the 21 century His Heart is offended mostly by 3 sins being 1) the sins of Heresy! 2) sins of impurity, 3) sins of blasphemy.

Let us be clear, a cult leader placing herself above St Joseph, is an inversion of Gods Truth.

St Joseph pray for us! We need you and your humility now, more than ever in this prideful world today. Pray for us and the Catholic church . Amen

Oh Volition of the Sacred Will of Jesus, govern my Human will! Amen

Does anyone know the devotion of the rosary to Saint Joseph and its origin, I know about it from reading some Catholic pages in Portuguese, but I have never found the origin if it is from some approved apparition or private revelation.

  5. “We have a cult amongst us”. —Josephite

Please forgive me, but this back-door approach to shaming those interested in legitimately learning about the Servant of God, Luisa Piccarreta, is in very poor taste, Josephite. And it’s embellished. In addition, using words such as “prideful” and “cult” when referring to fellow members is very presumptive and helps no one. Please do not do this again. It is possible that your past negative experiences have colored your view and now you feel you need to warn the world, but I’m not seeing the fruits of your approach one iota. One can love St. Joseph AND Luisa. And I would most certainly think that, by now, the good bishops of Trani and all those theologians authoritatively given charge of assessing her writings would have found that supposed heresy you claimed by now. But that is not the case. No heresy. Only ambiguities some anomalies/irregularities and certain translation issues. The heresy claims came from without. My trust is in the Lord , His Church and those given the legitimate authority IN that Church and not simply random internet theologians and personalities. Please do proper diligence before making such statements publicly.

This “prideful sinner” who I am to assume I must be in reading your post, is offering prayers for you through the intercession of BOTH of them!~AN

Father Don Callaway has researched all things St Joseph!
I believe he will have your answer. He has many you tube podcasts regarding St Joseph, you can also email him.
I have one of Fr Callaway's books, 'the consecration to St Joseph' , I don't think he delves in depth into your question but he does in some of his videos that I have watched

This year, is dedicated to the head of the Holy Family of Jesus (being St Joseph) and many plenary and partial indulgences have been been granted to the faithful who recite different prayers to St Joseph while also going to confession and receiving Jesus in the blessed sacrament and praying for the intentions of the pope.

There are 16 indulgences we can gain each day! I have tried to gain most of the 16 indulgences each day in this year dedicated to St Joseph, however lately (over the last 2 and a half weeks ) I have been struggling to gain just 2 of the indulgencies each day! I don't know why this is happening. I suspect it is due to the evil ones influence, because satan does not want us gaining any indulgence, as it injuries his hold on humanity.

This year dedicated to Joseph is a marvellous grace for Catholics, because each day we can obtain so much for the Holy souls and ourselves, but on the 8 December 2021 these indulgences will end.

Let us obtain all we can for ourselves and for the Holy souls. My prayers are with you and all who honour St Joseph, the virginal father of Jesus and the saviour of the saviour. By doing as we can we are gaining indulgencies for so many and God is very pleased.

Do not be concerned about comments that others are holier than St Joseph; because this is not true! True children of St Joseph (the Spouse of most Blessed Mother) offer all our sufferings and prayers for these poor souls who need conversion.

Jesus, Mary and St Joseph I love you, save souls. Amen

  7. You still continue your not-so-subtle comments through your messages to others, Josephite. Since you said it publicly, I may respond to it even though it was, on the surface, directed to another member. Basically, your entire last full paragraph stands as proof. Very sad.

My husband (who has a good and healthy devotion to St. Joseph, as an aside), asked me why I’d spend time addressing these concerns I have with your words and that I should be careful not to open up a can of worms. He is a wise man but I informed him that the can had already been opened and that I was not about to allow distorted information to take a resting place on this forum without a proper defense of what is true. It is also a given that I am not privy to being painted as a “poor soul in need of conversion”. It’s taking me a LOT of restraint not to really tell you how I feel about what you are doing in this odd campaign which borders on being unhealthy, as you wrap your jabs inside holy sounding platitudes. Please, once again, cease and desist this written passive harrasment or I will be forced to contact the moderators.

My prayers for you continue, Josephite. I am before His Majesty reposed in the Most Blessed Sacrament, Who gave me the strength to say what I needed to. You are my neighbor, and today’s Gospel in the TLM has Our Lord teaching us to love our neighbor as ourselves. I wish to lovingly comply with His command. I also ask your prayers for me.

Cultus is defined as a “system of religious belief and worship”
I respectfully suggest that Josephite’s usage might apply here.

The fact is that the hierarchy involved has not authorized the translation yet because aspects of it are troubling.
I think the persistence of the followers in the face of this fact might be what Josephite is calling prideful. Quite possibly. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I personally agree with Josephite.

    Edit
We must always follow the hierarchy in these matters. Not our emotions.

  10. Reason over emotions is a constant battle since the Fall of Man. I believe my use of restraint has shown that I strive for this, HH.

But...while I appreciate your offering the variant meaning of cult as cultus, it is simply not showing itself here. Someone should have to pay me good money to buy that possibility as the original intention due to context. We will have to agree to disagree with the idea that persistence in communicating the spirituality of Living in the Divine Will elsewhere on this forum is being motivated primarily by pride and, therefore, had need to be addressed as a means of curtailing possibly.

Finally, I know you personally find aspects of Luisa and her writings troubling as you have shared that fact before and I respect your opinion; however, what you see in that light, I see as growing pains of something holy that is living—indeed, surviving!—in the crucible of trial not uncommon to other saints’ experiences. Also, as a general observation, I have seen criticisms out there based , imho, on what people believe they know about that he meaning of Luisa’s messages instead of how those who have a real history through decades of studying them both knew (and know) to be true and good. Therefore, as you said “follow the hierarchy”— from an aerial view of time, I am, indeed, optimistic. (Not long ago on the forum, Padraig had suggested how those things really momentous in the Church are NEVER without attack and misunderstandings, and I wholeheartedly agree with him.)

Padraig has also said that the Divine Will
is problematic. I wasn’t going to post it, but you brought him into it.
I might also add that St Vincent Ferrer believed that the Second Coming of Jesus was imminent to his time period.

  12. Yes, that is true now that you mention it. I would hope my feeble attempt at giving an explanation for a reasonable motivation for seeking to learn more about it in my previous comment may have “passed his desk” for his consideration, as it may have done for anyone else reading these public exchanges.

Plus I am unable to find documentation for what I posted about St Vincent Ferrer. I did read it once, but cannot find it again, so I take it back.

  14. My endeavoring to share my optimism on the truths and beauty proven inherent in this devotion meets with persistent resistance from some, but that doesn’t stop me from making good efforts. In the end, the Holy Spirit will have His definitive say on all these matters. As a matter of conscience, I can only be true to my own convictions and to the Church.

5 REASONS EVERY MAN SHOULD LOVE ST. JOSEPH
    February 16, 2015
    [IMG]
[IMG]St. Joseph often slips under the radar because of his quiet demeanor and hidden life. However, he has much to teach us about growing in holiness. Here are 5 reasons to discover St. Joseph.

    1. He is the Patron Saint of Workers.

As men work takes up a great portion of our lives. Often we struggle to work in a way that honors God. St. Joseph can teach us how to work well if we ask him. One way to do this is to start your work day with a prayer to St. Joseph.

St. Joseph is also good to invoke if you are having difficulty finding a job. He was commissioned to provide for the Son of God, so he fully understands the pressure men face to provide for their families. In my own life, I have seen the power of St. Joseph’s intercession in finding my friends jobs.

    2. His Intercession is Powerful.

A seminarian once told me of the powerful intercession of St. Joseph. He explained that whenever he needed something, he asked for St. Joseph’s help, and his needs were met. Over the past few years, I have witnessed this in my own life. St. Joseph has answered many of my prayers ,whether it be finding a job or starting a family. In her autobiography, St. Teresa of Avila gives us some insight into why St. Joseph’s intercession is so powerful.

To other saints the Lord seems to have given grace to succor us in some of our necessities, but of this glorious saint my experience is that he succors us in them all, and that the Lord wishes to teach us that, as He was Himself subject to him on earth, (for, being His guardian and being called His father, he could command Him) just so in Heaven He still does all that he asks.

    3. He Models Fatherhood for Us.

God the Father chose St. Joseph from all men to be the foster-father of Jesus. That truly says something about his character, for he was entrusted with leading, providing for and protecting the Son of God and God’s greatest creature, Our Lady. Joseph faithfully served the Holy Family and protected them from danger so that they could fulfill God’s mission.

St. Joseph taught Jesus in his humanity how to be a man. No doubt he taught him how to be a faithful Jew, as well as the trade of carpentry. He models well for us fathers how to be the spiritual leaders of our families. Like St. Joseph, we are called to show the love of God the Father to our wives and children.

    4. He was an obedient man

Every time God asked him to do something, Joseph was eager to say yes. Whether that was taking Mary as his wife, going to Bethlehem for the census, or fleeing with his family to Egypt, Joseph always followed God’s will immediately. In an age where we are told to do things our own way, Joseph is a great reminder that true greatness is found in following God’s will, not our own.

    5. He was a man of silence

We never hear a word from St. Joseph in the Bible for he was a man of great silence. Because of this silence, he was able to hear God’s voice and discern his will for the Holy Family. In an age of noise and many words, Joseph reminds us that if we wish to hear God’s voice, we must quiet our hearts and enter into the silence.

    Go to Joseph!

These are just a few of the many reasons why every Catholic man should develop devotion to St. Joseph. With his feast day coming up in March, it is the perfect time to learn about this great saint and ask for his intercession to live a holy life.

Some Saints are privileged to extend to us their patronage with particular efficacy in certain needs, but not in others; but our holy patron St. Joseph has the power to assist us in all cases, in every necessity, in every undertaking. – St. Thomas Aquinas

It is in the book about St. Vincent by Fr. Andrew Pradel, O.P. St.Vincent was quoted in a letter in 1411, "The end of the world cannot be far distant, and the kingdom of God is at hand." The Lord sent him on a mission to convert the world, and preach against sin. The Lord is quoted by him, " Exhort sinners to repentance, for My judgment is at hand. " This is probably a case of judgment being delayed because so many were converted by his words and example.

  20. Josephite,

You are a sister-in-Christ and, in hindsight of rereading my words to you, I could have been less cutting/direct/harsh in my remarks. I did it out of believing I was being unjustly and indirectly attacked by you for my views. I know this much: we won’t see eye to eye on this unless God changes that. But, in the meantime, Iet us love each other just as we know God loves us.
