Maybe it's the NO and not the ecumenical mass. The daily sacrifice is taken away and replaced by the abomination of desolation, per Book of Daniel. Didn't happen yet imo.
Stop misrepresenting ACE to support your vacuous position. If Jesus himself is saying the mass, it’s a TLM, not a NO. From the comments below the video: … Gospel of St. John is ommitted because Christ and his Mother are there in person, and so testimony of St. John is not needed…” “The last gospel is omitted at the requiem mass. Christ is praying the sacrifice of the mass for the souls in purgatory here.” “The last gospel is also omitted at the Christmas Day Mass.” A simple low TLM is also short. The fact it’s short in ACEs vision does NOT imply it’s a NO.
It’s been 20 years since I read ACE so I didn’t realize at first the references here to a “short mass” was the one in which Jesus Himself offered the mass. So my initial reaction to the assertion the Great Monarch was seen in a vision of ACE to be attending a NO mass was incorrect.
Personally, I regard the NO as a valid Mass. I have not assisted at a Latin Mass since before the time that I retain memory, but I cannot for the life of me understand that there can possibly be anything that needs to be suppressed in the Mass that has been used by The Church since almost the very beginning. That is what seemed so right, true and logical about the Moto Proprio of Benedict. Also, I have never understood how we ended up with such a radical and rupturous change back in the sixties, when there is absolutely nothing of the sort advised by the Vatican Council, apart from an extremely modest, and even hesitant, use of the vernacular. Indeed, the first Pope of the Council, who is just as valid now as the second, since both are dead, issued an Apostolic Constitution which commanded the revival of the teaching and learning of Latin in seminaries and by all priests who had become lazy in the matter. A Constitution of this nature carries much more weight, I believe, than a mere MP, yet it was utterly ignored, so what could be inappropriate if the same happens to this Bergoglian act of desperation? The sacriligious Mass that ACE is referring to might be a further development of the present one, weaker on account of its lack of anchorage in Tradition or one of the sacriligious variations we have already seen, but thankfully I personally have been spared-pachamamas, liturgical dancing, clowns (?!). I'd like to know what precisely is the matter with the Latin Mass. All we get is the argument merely from authority, always the weakest of arguments. I have never read any reasons for its suppression, either from the sixties or more recently. It's always a case of 'must' and 'have to', often accompanied, as in this Barbossian case, by vague, unsubstantiated threats.
Yes, this may well be true. The current Novus Ordo is clearly valid, our good God has confirmed it Himself with eucharistic miracles. Of course the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) has eucharistic miracles also, such as Lanciano and Bolsena. The Sacred Host in Lanciano is over 1,000 years old and was scientifically examined by Professor Linoli in 1970. As I recall, it was found to be heart tissue of a man in his 30ies in the agony of death. The blood type AB matches the Shroud of Turin. So Lanciano is an amazing miracle, I went there in 2014. It seems that there is really something about the TLM that draws the attention of some. It is an hour of heaven on earth, it rejuvenates parishes and makes them grow, it attracts young couples and makes them holy, it produces many beautiful children of God, it provides people who are strong in their faith and not easily fooled or pushed around. As such, the TLM becomes a sign, a beacon of light. The TLM is uniting. It unites the faithful all over the world who are praying the same Holy Mass in the same language. It also unites the faithful of today with all the saints who had prayed that same Holy Mass ages ago. To suppress the TLM, argument from authority or force is all they have. There are no substantial arguments against the TLM, it is truly heaven on earth.
Can anyone recommend to me a very good, well-researched book on Vatican II, Fr Bugnini, and the change to the Novus Ordo?
I regret to post this link. I was afraid this would happen. Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Archdiocese of Washington, DC, has canceled a Pontifical High Mass at the National Shrine on the Eve of the Assumption. Link: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...ission-for-tridentine-mass-at-national-shrine
I nfiltration by Taylor Marshall or Church in Crisis by Ralph Martin perhaps. Malachi Martin's interviews with Bernard Janzen on you tube go into it.
The famous account of Vatican II by someone who was there is The Rhine Flows into the Tiber by Ralph Witgen. It is all the more powerful because it takes a neutral tone but shows how the countries situated on the Rhine - Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium managed to influence the Council in a more liberal, progressive way. The book has been reissued as The Inside Story of Vatican II and I think you can get it from Tan Books. I don't personally know any books about Bugnini and the NO. A search brought up 'Annibale Bugnini Reformer of the Liturgy' which came out fairly recently. It was favourably reviewed by the SSPX and it does have a foreword by Fr Alcuin Reid so one assumes it is pretty sound.
YW! Another book I just found online is Michael Davies' 'Liturgical Time Bombs in Vatican II: Destruction of the Faith through Changes in the Liturgy.' Davies was a traditional-minded Catholic writer who drew praise for the depth of his faith from Cardinal Ratzinger.
Behold the wheat, never fully choked by the cockle: THIS is what Catholicism looks like in the 21st Century. This is the One True Church and the One True Faith. Over the transom from down in Flahrda. This young handicapped lad extracted himself from his wheelchair to kneel and receive for the first time the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Eucharistic Lord on the tongue from his pastor, who is wearing a 30″ lace-hemmed alb, who looks like he could be St. Maurice himself. The looks on both of their faces…. THIS is the Catholic Church. THIS is the Body and Bride of Christ for which we should all be ready, without hesitation, to defend and lay down our very lives. Remember, until the very end, Our Lord tells us that amongst the tares and cockle, there will be wheat. Behold the wheat. https://www.barnhardt.biz/2021/07/2...s-the-one-true-church-and-the-one-true-faith/
Wednesday, July 21, 2021 Dr. Kwasniewski on Traditionis Custodes: Worst Papal Document in History Written by Gerhard Eger Gerhard Eger: I am very grateful, Dr. Kwasniewski, that you are willing to take the time to answer my questions. What is your overall assessment of the motu proprio Traditionis Custodes? Dr. Kwasniewski: It is the worst document promulgated by a pope in the history of the Roman Church. Full stop. Why do I say this? Because although popes have changed this or that aspect of the legislation of their predecessors, none has ever tried to stamp out one of the greatest liturgical rites in Christendom by putting its adherents under siege and starving them until they die or capitulate. It’s a mentality of warfare applied to members of the Mystical Body. Totally unworthy of a successor of the Apostle Peter, who, like the Apostle Paul with whom he is always depicted in iconography, would have counseled us to “hold fast to the traditions” (2 Thess 2:15). This is a real soul shaker….what a image… Giving the due glory to God…out of his wheelchair and onto his knees….where we all should be! In today’s church, you are scorned for wanting the Eucharist on your knees and the sheeple just accept it. Sad
