Archbishop Lefebvre: A Documentary - Full Movie - YouTube

    YouTubhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf9oy7wDkmse

Fast forward to the last two minutes of the video (1:41:20) to hear Archbishop Lefebvre’s exhortation and perhaps prophetic words. This is just an excerpt of the whole message but captures its essential point:

“For the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ... for the salvation of souls... Keep the Mass of all time. Then you will see Christian civilization flourish again, a civilization that is not for this world but leads to the Catholic city, and this Catholic city on earth is a preparation for the City of God in Heaven.”

Too bad he didn’t stick around the Barque a little longer.

He never left the barque. He saw a state of emergency in the Church and acted accordingly. It’s hard to credibly argue, looking around the Church today, that a state of emergency doesn’t currently exist - or hasn’t existed for the last five decades.

My local SSPX chapel is only 15 miles away. Thank heavens. If this pope pushes any further with his war on the TLM I’ll probably be joining. With no scruples whatsoever.

But he chose to illicitly consecrate new bishops and be excommunicated.

He didn’t choose to be excommunicated, excommunications which were subsequently and justly lifted by Pope BXVI.

St. Athanasius was excommunicated too. He’s a canonized saint.

Wasn't it just the excommunications of the 4 bishops he consecrated that were lifted?

My point is that sometimes we act before God answers.

You know I disagree so we will just have to disagree, Brian. The SSPX is not attached to anything or anyone canonically in the Church.
There is no way to spin that. Your scruples or not.
