The powers that be are going to try to steer us away from the understanding that monkeypox is essentially the latest STI of the LGBTQ, just like they did with AIDS, and claim that “anyone can get it.” The last thing they want is to stigmatize the LGBTQ community and have the rest of society ignore this outbreak as it just doesn’t affect them.
