Ah Brian you are right, I see now this is not the right group for me. With the recent comments i realise this group is anti-Papal and puts their own ideas above those of the Church and the Pope. I am a loyal orthodox Catholic and I see pure diabolical evil in some comment made here and at the best those who have mistaken zealotry for a Catholic Church of their own imagination not the actual Church founded on the Rock of Peter. I rebuke those ideas and comments in the name of Jesus and his Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I will pray for a conversion of heart and hope they do not know what they are saying and doing.
That is very kind of you Brother Gilbert. Thank you for your prayers. As they say in Japan, 'Sayanara'. From diabolical old me. Bye.
With that kind of loyalty, I wish you would stay and not leave the forum. I was happy to see that we had a Jewish Catholic on the forum and was looking forward to your contributions. So many have left for the reasons you cite, but the forum drew you in despite this so there must still be spiritual value. Think of the lurkers like you who watch but never post. I hope you'll pray on it and stay if Our Lady needs you to help here.
There is a prophecy of a Pope who wears a headress by St Brigid. It exists but hard to find. A Pope who will take away the rule for priests not to marry. Called the strawman prophecy. Wow its unbelievable and yes she describes his face as diabolical. I wont get into the gory details here of what the future holds for this person
I did not know this but apparently At Brigit had some very , very harsh things to say about Pope's of her day. I watched a film about her on utube last week. But it was in Spanish. I will try to post it anyway.
Peace be with you, Brother Gilbert Joseph! I do suggest you consider listening to Cardinal Mueller's EWTN interview. He is not vindictive, but speaks truth. In the end no one can judge another's heart but God alone, but the cardinal does have serious reservations about the synodal way.
You know I wasn't going to reply to this and thought about it all day but my soul wont let me. Its quite a simple reply..If you truly believed in what you typed then why did you not stay and fight the good fight , what has happened to the religious, have they really chosen to give up before they even begin. HEAVEN HELP US
Some priests, religious etc. have already chosen false obedience over standing up for orthodoxy in the face of obvious attacks on Catholicism. It’s just easier. They can’t handle asking the obvious questions because it might shake their Faith. They don’t know how to square the hole of an apparent pope acting to promote moral deviancy and heterodoxy with the promises of Christ regarding the papacy. So they simply convince themselves there’s nothing to see here and instead attack and calumniate the faithful remnant.
I think that I recognize Brother Gilbert from another blog that some here have posted in the past. I wish that he would stay also. Http://aronbengilad.blogspot.com/2016/05/jewish-thought-talmud-torah-musar.html
I dipped into the forum to see if anyone had posted the latest news about the Pfizer vaccine not having been tested for preventing the spread of infection before it was released. It had. Then I couldn't resist reading through other threads. I recommend Michael Lofton's videos on his Reason and Theology YouTube channel for anyone who has problems with Pope Francis and some of our "woke" Bishops. Lofton is working on his dissertation for a Doctorate on the Magisterium. His attitude towards traditionalists is OTT which seems to be rooted in his own experience of having been a rad trad who joined the Orthodox Church, discovered that the grass wasn't greener there, saw the light and returned to the Barque of Peter. Now, he's a bit like a reformed smoker but he is a good apologist and if you can tolerate what can come across as a fixation against traditionalists, his videos on the Magisterium are very informative. Some of his Popesplaining can be on the weak side but most of his arguments give food for thought and are well founded. He has caused me to do some serious examination of conscience regarding my duty of obedience to the Pope. If Lofton ever finishes his dissertation and publishes it, I may well buy it because we Catholics can be fond of dropping references to the Magisterium while lacking a good understanding of all that is entailed in our duty of obedience to it. Br. Gilbert Joseph's explanation of the Pachamama incident is almost identical to that given on one of Michael Lofton's videos. I thought it was one of his weaker efforts at popesplaining. If I remember correctly, Lofton was satisfied that the lady referring to the statue as "Our Lady of the Amazon" was enough to rule out idolatry. His guest used the excuse about the Pachamama being a goddess in Peru rather than Brazil. That excuse might have been a bit more convincing had those present only been from Brazil but there were representatives from most if not all the Amazonian countries, including Peru, and no doubt there was TV coverage of the ceremonies in all those countries. With the Church haemorrhaging members to Protestantism in Latin American, it can't have been easy viewing for many faithful Catholics trying to counter the arguments of Evangelicals/preachers of the property gospel. Sometimes, apologists would be better sticking to solid arguments where possible and when it comes to the crazy stuff reminding us of our duty of charity in all things, including attributing motives to our shepherds. Weak excuses serve only to give the impression of a whitewash. Perhaps Br. Gilbert Joseph was led here by the Holy Spirit. As someone said earlier, his being a Jewish Catholic would make his contribution all the more interesting. Different perspectives save the forum from being an echo chamber.
Look on the bright side, Brian. With Europe heading into decline, the money will dry up and the influence will wane when the coffers are empty - not just in the Church but in society generally. Growth is coming to the regions where the alphabet crowd haven't yet managed to get a strong foothold. Every cloud has a silver lining. Hard times ahead for us but maybe we've worn out the Lord's patience and that's what it will take to get us back on the narrow path.
I think that the mere fact that the image of Pachamama worshiped in the Vatican represents a naked woman already rules out absolutely any association with Our Lady; they could have used the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to represent Our Lady's great appreciation for the indigenous people and all of Latin America.
He left under his own speed. No one made him leave. He choose to go. He is welcome back at any time if he chooses . The idea of , 'Free Speech', is not a Catholic concept, but I as they say I like to think every dog should have it's day. If only to confront them. I regard Pope Francis as purely evil and anyone who 'defends' him as defending someone and something that is totally evil. But if chance happens to set them up I would like a chance to knock them down. I see Pope Francis's latest totally evil remarks here: The latest in a whole series of evil and devisive remarks : https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...tm_source=featured-news&utm_campaign=catholic Pope Francis says ‘traditionalism’ is ‘infidelity’ to the Catholic Church and Vatican II ‘Traditionalism’ is a form ‘of a Pelagian selfishness that puts our own tastes and plans above the love that pleases God, the simple, humble and faithful love that Jesus asked of Peter,’ said Pope Francis. VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) – Marking the 60th anniversary of the start of the Second Vatican Council, Pope Francis attacked “traditionalism” as being “evidence … of infidelity” to the Catholic Church. The Argentinian Pontiff made his remarks in his homily during a Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica on October 10, marking the 60th anniversary of the opening of the ecumenical Second Vatican Council. Using a passage from St. John’s Gospel – “Do you love me? Feed my sheep” – Francis launched his attack on the traditionalist movement. Stating that “we are always tempted to start from ourselves rather than from God, to put our own agendas before the Gospel,” he decried those who wished to “retrace our steps.” “Yet let us be careful,” he said, “both the ‘progressivism’ that lines up behind the world and the ‘traditionalism’ – or ‘looking backwards’ – that longs for a bygone world are not evidence of love, but of infidelity.” Francis styled both “traditionalism” and “progressivism” as “forms of a Pelagian selfishness that puts our own tastes and plans above the love that pleases God, the simple, humble and faithful love that Jesus asked of Peter.” Praising the Council for its actions, Francis stated that it “rediscovered the living river of Tradition without remaining mired in traditions.” He told the assembled congregation not to be concerned with being “on the climb” towards heaven, or with attempts to “shepherd yourselves.” Rather, Francis urged a rejection of everything in the service of fraternity. How often, in the wake of the Council, did Christians prefer to choose sides in the Church, not realizing that they were breaking their Mother’s heart! How many times did they prefer to cheer on their own party rather than being servants of all? To be progressive or conservative rather than being brothers and sisters? To be on the “right” or “left,” rather than with Jesus? Francis opposes Latin Mass but warns of ‘polarization’ In promoting Vatican II, Francis’ homily was flush with ironic phraseology. While his 2021 restrictions on the traditional Mass were entitled Traditionis custodes (guardians of Tradition), Francis yesterday attacked those who “present themselves as ‘guardians of the truth’ or ‘pioneers of innovation’ rather than seeing themselves as humble and grateful children of Holy Mother Church.” READ: Abp Viganò on the ‘roots of deviation’ of Vatican II and how Francis was chosen to revolutionize the Church His restrictions on the ancient liturgy, pronounced in the name of Vatican II, have since decimated parishes and communities, yet Francis said that the Church should “leave aside the ‘isms,’ for God’s people do not like polarization.”
Popes were never meant to be safe space Idols. St Peter from the very beginning made grave, very grave errors. >and from the very beginning of the Church people rebuked them As St Paul did St Peter. In the case of Peter as St Paul tells us he gave in to human respect. In the case of Pope Francis it is a simple case of being purely evil and hating the Catholic Church. He was like this even when he was the Jesuit Superior in Argentina when his fellow Jesuits rose up in revolt against him because he was so intolerable. He was like that when he was Archbishop of Buenos Aries when he was the most disliked Bishop in their history and by his own people.. How did this guy end up getting elected? Galatians 2:11–13 says: When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong. Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles.
This thing of storming off the forum in a huff when you don't like what people are saying because they are, 'diabolical' and not engaging in dialogue reminds me of , 'Woke'. St Francis De Sales for instance went right into Geneva and talked to the Calvinists. St Dominic went right into the territory of the Albigensians and preached to them. Pope Francis claims he believes in 'accompanying people'. There is not much, 'accompanying' going on when you pick up your toys, accuse people of being , 'Diabolic' and leave at hyper speed; is there? Like I say he is welcome back at any time to state his case. He was not booted . He left . His choice. Come back anytime. I relish the prospect.
