Thankyou sister I know your heart and I know you meant no distress, I wouldnt dream yourself or anyone else on this forum would intentionally say anything to cause me hurt. Im just trying to highlight what the priest done back in 2009 should not have happened.

    God bless all

Well yes it was not good that he did that. Imprudent at least and poor judgement.
Yes it is a stick to beat him with. Saying that he still is correct to say what he did and it takes courage not to bend under the pressure.

Given the handshake was public, it is sad that the priest has not repented or clarified, for an image speaks volumes and inhabits the collective memory. Still, his homily was straightforward and truthful. His Bishop has gone off the deep end! Prayers for the both of them.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian share cute snaps from daughter’s christening

Celebrity pals joined the couple for a celebratory dinner following the ceremony

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian have shared adorable snaps from their daughter Blake’s christening.

Taking to Instagram, they posted an adorable snap of the family in St. Brigid's Church, in Straffan, Co. Kildare.

The picture shows the happy couple with their three-month-old daughter.

“Today our beautiful daughter Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian was Christened 10.12.22. Doing it on my mums birthday just makes it so SPECIAL. December 10th ALWAYS,” the post was captioned.

Following the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a celebratory dinner with family and friends including Nadia Forde, Donal Skehan and Pippa O’Connor Ormand.

Brian’s sister Aoife, who was the couple’s surrogate, was also in attendance.

Dowling recently revealed that they have been the target of “a lot of shaming”.

“There’s been a lot of shaming. The amount of homophobia that Arthur and I... it’s been so odd. Aoife also put herself out there,” he told Kate Ferdinand’s podcast Blended.

"Our journey to parenthood is very unique and with

the lack of legislation in Ireland, who dictates who can have families and who doesn’t?

    Boke.

At Least the, 'Christening ', did not involve a Latin Mass.

    So that's alright then.

Even in the Novus Ordo Rite of Baptism, which unfortunately waters down the 2 exorcisms which are included, the following questions are asked of parents just before baptizing the child. Of course, how seriously they will take these solemn promises, only the Lord absolutely knows, but to be flippant about it is a serious offense to God. And to ask these questions of a gay couple is an oxymoron in belief:

RENUNCIATION of SIN and PROFESSION of FAITH

    93. The celebrant speaks to the parents and godparents in these words:

Dear parents and godparents: You have come here to present this child for baptism. By water and the Holy Spirit he (she) is to receive the gift of new life from God, who is love.

On your part, you must make it your constant care to bring him (her) up in the practice of the faith. See that the divine life which God gives him (her) is kept safe from the poison of sin, to grow always stronger in his (her) heart.

If your faith makes you ready to accept this responsibility, renew now the vows of your own baptism. Reject sin; profess your faith in Christ Jesus. This is the faith of the Church. This is the faith in which this child is about to be baptized.

    94. The celebrant questions the parents and godparents:

    A

    Celebrant: Do you reject Satan?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

    Celebrant: And all his works?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

Celebrant: And all his empty promises?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

    B

Celebrant: Do you reject sin, so as to live in the freedom of God’s children?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

Celebrant: Do you reject the glamor of evil, and refuse to be mastered by sin?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

Celebrant: Do you reject Satan, father of sin and prince of darkness?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

According to circumstances, this second form may be expressed with greater precision by the conferences of bishops, especially in places where it is necessary for the parents and godparents to reject superstitious and magical practices used with children.

    95. Next the celebrant asks for the threefold profession of faith from the parents and godparents:

Celebrant: Do you believe in God, the Father almighty,
    creator of heaven and earth?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in Jesus Christ,
    his only Son, our Lord,
who was born of the Virgin Mary,
was crucified, died, and was buried,
    rose from the dead,
and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

Celebrant: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit,
    the holy catholic Church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and the life everlasting?

    Parents and Godparents: I do.

The celebrant and the congregation give their assent to this profession of faith:

    Celebrant: This is our faith.
This is the faith of the Church.
We are proud to profess it, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    All: Amen.

What a disgrace. The church has completely lost the plot. There is a responsibility to defend church teachings and protect the sacraments.

There is an Elephant in the Room about all this, which everyone who took part in this Total Abomination or who kept quiet about it will be aware of. The Priest himself, His Bishop, the Papal Nuncio and RTE.

The Elephant in the Room is this. That Pope Francis is not only comfortable with all this kind of thing but backs it to the hilt. They will also all know that anyone who complains or who stands in the way of it will be bringing his Career in the Church to a complete screeching halt.

This is the Elephant in the Room.

    Pope Francis.

Yes, the elephant in the room, who am I to judge?.
The priest in Kerry basically called people to repentance. He was asked by Joe Duffy on RTÉ if Leo Varadkar would go to Hell. He said, if he does not repent he will. Leo came out and said he would not be going to Hell. Last week he was filmed in a gay night club picking up a 20 year old. He is to be installed as Taoiseach next week. The church says nothing and the priest has been sacked.
It's all very difficult to take.

Don’t ask what’s next because since March a diocese in Germany has approved of women performing the sacrament of baptism.

I wouldn't mind, but the silence of the Bishops and Cardinals is deafening.

I sense these Present Abominations are only folks getting warmed up for the near future. Then we'll see Abominations which will make even the Devils drop their jaws in astonishment.

It sure is. The insult to God and His holy precepts is an abomination but the potential loss of a soul with such a flippant attitude is really wounding to God I think.
