Federally, we've still been with paper ballots. The last municipal elections were conducted on-line, at least in Nova Scotia. "Codes/pin #'s" were mailed out to people to use to vote. Sounds reasonable on its face, but if you had moved, you probably were sent more than one. I also read some deceased were sent codes. They never bothered to update the voting lists There was a different game for the federal election though. Calls were made sending people to different polling stations than the one they were originally assigned. A tough article to read… these stats are heartbreaking. But, what’s even worse, is there is no solution - in fact I would say, the world , even the Church (Synodality) is doubling down. The traditional family is under attack. There is no way I would allow my kids in public schools today. I am grateful that my kids are all close by… there are struggles, but intact through the grace of God. There kids are still small….just entering K… they are all thinking very seriously of a home school approach. I think it’s the only option. Day two of no power after the big ice storm. We have a generator going to the sump pump to keep the basement from flooding. And a My Buddy propane heater in the living room and candles. It's a mess around here in north east Indiana lots of downed lines and trees. It's not easy trying to live off the grid.
The longest we have gone off the grid was 4 days. We had a woodstove and a generator, but I was still happy to see the power on again. Though, I believe it wouldn't take too long to get creative with survival.
