US journalist jailed and 'tortured' by Ukraine has died – family
Gonzalo Lira’s relatives have blamed his death on Washington and Kiev

Chilean-American blogger Gonzalo Lira has died in a Ukrainian prison, his family said on Friday.

“I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days and the US Embassy did nothing to help my son. The responsibility of this tragedy is the dictator Zelensky with the concurrence of a senile American President, Joe Biden,” his father Gonzalo Lira Sr. wrote in a note published by The Grayzone.

Lira Senior also reached out to X host Tucker Carlson, confirming the death of his son in Ukrainian custody. He had spoken to Carlson about the case in early December.

His son Lira, 55, used to live in Kharkov and blog as ‘CoachRedPill,’ but switched to YouTube commentary after the conflict with Russia escalated in February 2022. He was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) last May and accused of “discrediting” the Ukrainian leadership and the military.

Lira resurfaced in late July with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), revealing his torture in jail and attempts of the SBU to extort him for money. He said he was trying to flee to Hungary and seek asylum. Then he disappeared again.

Two days later, a source confirmed to RT that Lira had been caught and imprisoned by Ukrainian authorities. He has not been heard from since.

According to a handwritten note Lira’s sister received on January 4, he had severe health problems caused by pneumonia and a collapsed lung, which began in mid-October. The prison authorities only acknowledged the issue on December 22, and he was supposed to undergo surgery. The note was provided to The Grayzone by Lira Senior.

    Alex Rubenstein on X:

BREAKING: It is with great sadness I must announce that Gonzalo Lira @GonzaloLira1968, passed away in a hospital according to his father, who has been fighting to get his son much-needed medical attention for the past weeks. Here is a hand-written note from Gonzalo which I… Show more

Following Lira Senior’s appearance on Carlson’s show, X owner Elon Musk personally inquired about Lira’s case with both US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, apparently to no effect.

Lira was a national of both the US and Chile. According to his thread from last July, the Chilean Embassy in Kiev at least tried to help him, while the US mission gave him only “empty bromides.” Lira suggested that this was because Victoria Nuland – currently the acting deputy to Secretary of State Antony Blinken – hated him personally.

I don't know which topic to leave a message on (let the moderator switch it if necessary), and as I have watched several documentaries related to gangs and violence in Brazil/Mexico, I will try to do so here

One thing bothers me, it is connected a lot with the religious side and God's creation, and political correctness is not very attractive to me, so I will be quite open...
How do you view the fact that certain countries and I can freely say races are much more violent with far more crime and violence in their cultures?

I know that people often start saying that education plays a big role, upbringing and culture. All of this is true of course, but we can take the example of India, which is still largely in poverty, so let's say all those Asian countries from Pakistan to the finally developed Japan which was once not developed, just like China where the murder rate and crime is even below numerous European countries.
On the other hand, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, numerous African countries have over 50,000 murders annually(more/less).

Let's say many American cities with an African-American population have homicide rates close to 40 (the highest in the world) per 100,000 even though they live in one of the richest countries in the world with plenty of opportunities to get away from such a lifestyle. Europeans and Asians also came very poor to the US. Many Europeans have starved to death for centuries due to poverty, but murder and crime have always been quite low. There are more murders among blacks in the USA than the EU+China+India combined, and we are talking about a population close to 4 billion people. It is a similar thing for the prison population, for example in Canada and the UK, which are modern migrations, so the turbulent past cannot play a role.

Now I'm interested in how you, as believers, look at and explain this situation to yourself. God created us all free and each of us has the right to choose. Saints and sinners exist in all races and nations. However, I don't understand why some countries/races are more prone to evil, at least when we talk about serious crime and murder.
We can map it to corruption, I come from Slavic countries, which are often, together with numerous African and Latin American countries, at the very top in terms of corruption, even though all these countries are also at the top in terms of faith in God and visits to churches. On the other hand, Japan, the Scandinavian countries, and finally the whole of northern Europe, as well as the descendants of those Europeans who settled the USA, Canada, and Australia, show a much lower degree.
In your opinion, do some countries/races have a more moral law built into them than others that have it less pronounced, so they tend towards sin much more?? I don't even know how to explain it to myself, but I see that in some countries/races, people would rather die of hunger, and in others, they will kill someone for money, power and food without any problems, and this happens in a large part of the population.

How do you view it in the context of God's creation and the fall of man?

The highlight above can actually be readily explained; it is the dark side of prejudice and politics. Of course the devil is in the mix. And the following isn't exhaustive in its analysis. In the midst of the great depression the South (and especially Blacks) were hard hit. Since the USA was the industrial giant of its day and most manufacturing was in the North, many Blacks migrated north in search of work, settling in the cities. I grew up in Syracuse, New York on the South side, so I'll use that as an example. For the most part Blacks settled near the downtown area which had a higher percentage of manufacturing and also rental property.

Prejudice is a reality also and played a part in what followed. With some latent prejudice in their bones, Whites would tend to move further south toward the city-line. Houses would open up therefore for purchase, but even if a Black family had the necessary income to buy a home, a practice called red-lining by the banks would place burdensome conditions on purchasing. These homes would then readily become rental properties. So pride-of-home was out of reach for most Blacks. They would rent. Then in the 1950s, migration to the suburbs began. At that time Syracuse had a population of about 200,000; it is now under 150,0000. Manufacturing migrated also. This caused a spiral of loss of work and increasing poverty in the inner city. Since most blacks rented they were not in a position to sell a home and move. They remained in the inner city amid a decreasing job market. Obviously this would put stress on family life.

Then came the crushing blow of President Johnson's "Great Society" project beginning in the 1960s "to help the impoverished". It focused on providing relief (ADC program for single mothers with children). This along with increasing unemployment, created an environment which did nothing to encourage a father in the home supporting wife and children. Marginal survival for inner city families without the father in the home increasingly became the norm. Without a proper paternal presence, young teenagers looked to gangs for identity and things have deteriorated from there. Depression, homicide, and family disintegration followed. Thus the devil's playground. This doesn't mean all Blacks are poor and impoverished, or that all Black families are broken, but the dye was set.

    Lord have Mercy!

I agree with everything you wrote, prejudice as well as political manipulation and the destruction of marriages and families are certainly a big factor.
However, when you look at these graphs, you can see that for whites, with about 50 years of propaganda, attacks on families, manipulation and other methods, the numbers are the same as for blacks in the 60s, when there were no attacks on the family yet.

Look at East Asians, for example, divorces are minimal, 99% of children are born within marriage, elders are respected, house rules, rules and laws are respected. The Japanese, for example, were assigned to camps even during the ww2 war in the USA for the sake of the war, many peoples came poor from Indians, Vietnamese, Chinese, so crime is still low among them today, and the family is valued even though they are not familiar with Christianity .

It is as if God gave certain peoples and races a more innate law in the heart, but this does not mean that He does not love all people equally and that everyone will respond according to their talents. In the end, God once chose the Israelites over other nations. Only with a greater gift comes a greater responsibility. We can say the same about the Italians, who gave the most saints of all nations, and by far, the Pope lives in Italy, we know that Rome will play an important role until the last day...
Surely Italy has a special place in God's heart.
In the end, I think that Thomas Sowell is one of the greatest intellectuals of our time, a real treasure. He has a lot to say on this topic...I'm just saying, it's a bit confusing and we don't know everything.

Apparently, God wanted a World where we are not all equal according to our talents, but where every life has equal value and where the strong should take care of the weak.

  18. Editorial from Russian media on Fiducia Supplicans:

Those who pinch us, brand us, reproach us, teach us life and to whom we interfere with the very fact of our existence, the news that this year the most important values are intended not only to promote, but also to protect, met with the irritation inherent in the eternal loser.

In a world where the post-truth and its self-appointed priss rule, it is crucial to indicate what is impossible to buy, it is unthinkable to exchange and what is impossible to destroy.

The decree on the Year of the Family in Russia was issued in November last year. And three weeks later, as if in response, but in fact, of course, it is unlikely that the Vatican is taking the following initiative: Catholic priests are invited - so far only offered - to give church blessings to same-sex (a common name for any composition of such a human duet) couples. Yes, the Holy See clarifies, this is not a wedding, or rather, not quite a wedding, but, on the other hand, "we are for the inclusion of everyone in the bosom of the church."
What happened with a difference of four weeks is the most complete illustration of the phrase "clash of civilizations."

We see the defeat of some, silently watching how the world of relations and social construct they are used to fall into the abyss, and we understand that if it were not for the legal ban on the LGBT movement* and shameless propaganda on media platforms, for money or for interest, everything that leads to the destruction of respect for the fundamental values of our society, we could quickly find ourselves in a similar system of moral coordinates.

The triumphant Western liberalism, which is not obstructed, has led to the fact that not only the body has become a subject of consumption, but also feelings, not only a quite natural desire to love and be with the one you love and who loves you, now only a commodity in a large, large supermarket, where emotions are traded. And the physiology of both sexes itself has turned into a store article.

When, obeying fools, or propaganda, or a minute whim, you can change your gender. And moreover, with the help of justice (euphemism for the phrase "repressive apparatus"), this choice can be forced, let's say, to "toler" under pain of punishment. That is, to be tolerant, but against the will.

Caprice, or nonsense, or propaganda - but as a result, everything that used to be such a proud Western civilization has become waste today.

Ten years ago, when French President Hollande, working out the sponsorship of the rich man and the homosexual Pierre Berger suspected of pedophilia, was shoving through the parliament the law on the legalization of same-sex marriage, hundreds of thousands of those took to the streets of the country who understood how all these games of "tolerance" and falsely understood "inclusion" would end.

Today, the news from the Vatican, breaking the foundations of civilization, went almost unnoticed.

Those noisy dissenters understood everything correctly. The games of an aggressive, offended by life, surrounded by the happiness of the minority, led (where to the question "do I fail light or should I not drink tea? - they answer: "the light will fail, and so that I always drink tea") to the removal of all restrictions and restrictions.

There, in a military manner, women, men and, of course, children were abolished. Because children (once the fruit of the joy of mom and dad, their joint happiness and in a sense - the key to immortality, because the family will continue) have also become a subject of consumption. And if children have turned into a product that can be bought in the supermarket of globalists, therefore, parenthood from opportunity, life circumstances, love has become a right invented by the promoters of the agenda.

If the promoters managed to frown even the highest prelates of the Catholic Church, who - in the literal sense of the word - exchanged primogeniture (biblical dogmas) for "lentil broth" (positive PR), then we absolutely understand with what and with whom we are engaged in an ideological confrontation.

Of course, we see that Western liberal-globalist paradigm. Today - yes, it is recommended to bless "rainbow" couples, not to crown, and not in the main parish of the church, but in the side. But just give me a deadline - and you will see that the blessing will become mandatory, turning into a full-fledged wedding, that it is this vector for "gender diversity" that will become central, that such relationships are not just familiar, but also, by and large, the only socially approved. Only this kind of connection is supported by the state financially, and the power - politically. Who doesn't know how it works may ask about the latest appointments to the Cabinet of Ministers of the same France.
If in our traditional view everything begins with the love of a man and a woman, then there, in the West, it all begins with "inclusion", which cannot be applauded - under penalty of prosecution. And this is by no means a sequel to Orwell's utopia "1984", but quite a real liberal-globalist 2024.

Protecting the traditional family, relatives, loved ones, women, men, we actually protect not only our country and ourselves, we protect our children. And not from invented "rights" and the same chimerical "freedoms", but from chaos, fear, horror and hell, when "everything is allowed" and everything is allowed. We defend the right to the norm, to live in the criteria of the norm and the right to be real. Men and women.

The year of the family is given to us to understand: even the norm today needs our protection.

I see everyone attacks the west but no mention of communist socialist countries where there is no God. We still have freedoms and many problems but can discuss them. Communism does not offer that choice. Is there a utopia? Not on this earth. History does repeat itself.
