Given what I had heard of Cardinal Gregory, I am impressed by his stance. Not over-the-top, but firm and accurate. If he had been too explicitly condemnatory, it would have afforded the Democrats the opportunity of throwing out the accusation that he was only getting involved in politics, but he walked the narrow line well. Commendable that he broadened the lesson outwards, too.

In Portugal it is the same, from right to left of the nine parties with parliamentary seats in the Assembly of the Republic, the only one that supports the invasion of Ukraine is the PCP (Portuguese Communist Party). They don't say they directly support it, they use the same narrative and the same lexicon as Putinist propaganda to talk about the issue, talking about a "special military operation" instead of an invasion, etc.

Regarding the situation in Palestine, the parties in Portugal are more divided.

The more the years go on, the soi-disant fall of the Iron Curtain is beginning to look a massive gaslighting operation. Retrospectively, the whole thing was just too smooth and easy. The only blip was when Ceaucescu refused to play ball...and most of those involved in his overthrow were just other communists. Also, why did all these communists get off so lightly, even being welcomed into administration and government? The upshot is that most of the West is run by socialist bureaucrats and politicians. The world has turned upside down and we were hardly aware of it happening until we arrived where we now are.

As I read and reflect through all these recent posts on the world situation especially in the Middle East it only makes more clear to be we are not just in a material battle but really a great spiritual one. It’s a war between good and evil. And while many here might not follow or believe in the messages from Medjugorie, I would think the one from a few days ago would resonate. Our Lady said satan is strong an getting stronger. He is using and deceiving many on all sides in theses atrocities. I feel that the temptation here for me is to give into the worldly mess and “support” one side or our my trust in the “princes” of this world. No, I need to continue to trust God- and as last Sundays gospel said listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd. This is not easy for me… the voices of the world and false idols that draw me will sometimes prevent me from hearing the Good Shepherd.

And, I suppose the real issue at least for me is a fear of the cross that God is allowing in the world and within my own life. I want to reject it. The world says reject it. The world says avoid suffering. But, if I am a follower of Christ , it says very clearly… pick up your cross and follow after me. It’s only through the cross that resurrection comes. The question is … do I believe it. My answer if I’m honest is at best I try and yes do, but man when the rubber meets the road I stumble and fall. But so did Christ. And I think it’s recognizing this is The Way is perhaps all we can do at the moment. Recognizing it’s a great great spiritual war. I need to arm myself in the weapons that the Church provides. And with huge gratitude (and maybe not always in agreement) come to this forum to hear from all the other warriors and followers of Jesus Christ who are also Walking the Way. Peace.

Interesting you should say this. Malachi Martin said the same thing years ago. And my friend who died 2 years ago who was Czech said the same thing. She was very Holy Spirit aligned. She grew fatigued trying to warn Americans. No one wanted to believe her--then or now.

    Well said.
I said to my sister on Friday as we talked of these things that the only thing to do is pray and try to live the beatitudes and gird our loins for a very hard purification.

It just occurred to me--the antichrist suffers a fatal wound and then comes back to life. Communism suffered a seemingly fatal wound and has come roaring back. Hmmm.

This got me thinking of a theory about the AC I've been pondering for quite awhile. "suffers a fatal wound and then comes back to life" It's already happened in the political realm with the return of communism. Humanly speaking, there has been an even greater wound inflicted by the imposition of so called diversity, especially regarding the sex of a person being changed to nothing but a nebulous concept of gender. While the AC is expected to be a man, my theory is that it will be a transgender person; appearing as female but in reality born male. The ultimate con.

    Matthew:
24:22 And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened.

24:23 Then if any man shall say to you, Lo here is Christ, or there: do not believe him.

24:24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect.

It's amazing how the world tries to get you to hate one side or the other, thereby polluting our hearts. Then we get to milk the feeling of the perceived injustice of others towards us and further pollute our hearts. This then leads to a kind of feeling of altruism or self-righteousness further polluting the heart. Which then leads to the justification of harshness towards those we perceive being victims of, even further fouling the heart.

I think that the head mortally wounded by the sword could represent Nimrod, the mystical precursor of the Freemasons, who had his mystical body divided by the power of God when the Holy Trinity descended to confuse languages, resulting in the dispersion of the " masons," builders of the tower of Babel, throughout the world, carrying his knowledge of the ancient mysteries of the religion of Babel, but it could also represent the cult of Baal that was destroyed by Elijah's sword on Mount Carmel. In fact, the plain of Megiddo, where the final battle will take place, is located at the foot of Mount Carmel.

It was the least the Cardinal could get away on Easter Sunday, the holiest (not just one of the holiest) day of the year when Biden couldn't even leave that day unsullied And, according to the Cardinal, Biden is sincere about his faith. Really? The Bishop, in that interview, has assured the rest of the cafeteria that they, too, are sincere about their faith and automatic excommunication is no big deal. With Bishops like him, there's no wonder the "nones" are outstripping believers. Also, his failure to even mention what Biden is doing in Gaza gives more ammunition to those who accuse the Catholic Church of only caring about the babies before they are born.

I also have no doubt that when the evil old hypocrite pops his clogs he'll get a big fancy, Cathedral funeral with the Cardinal and a succession of luminaries of little or no faith singing his praises and all but canonising him at Holy Mass. St. Paul and all the martyred Saints in Heaven must be asking "How much longer Lord?".

The errors of Russia were State atheism and its authoritarian enforcement via communism, including denial of religious freedom and indoctrinating future generations through the education system. Our Lady of Fatima didn't say that communism would be eradicated. She said that the consecration would result in the conversion of Russia and a period of peace would be granted to the world but if the Pope didn't do as she asked, Russia would spread her errors. Russia's errors had already spread throughout the world before Pope John Paul did the consecration but the Soviet Union fell. Atheism is no longer the official position of the Russian State. They don't have full freedom of religion yet but I believe Our Lady's promise that Russia will be converted.

We in formerly Christian countries don't have that promise and our freedoms are being incrementally removed by our governments. They don't officially declare atheism to be the official position but that's where we're headed bit by bit and the younger generations are being indoctrinated to welcome it when atheism is declared the official belief with all other beliefs being tolerated but actively discouraged. That's probably one of the reasons formerly Christian Europe was flooded with Muslims fleeing from war torn countries and with just enough radicals to commit the occasional acts of terror. Just enough terrorism to cause a backlash, incite hatred and division on all sides and justify more "security" measures, blaming all trouble on religious differences. It also helps people shrug their shoulders or support unjust wars on Muslim countries (millions killed in Iraq alone based on Colin Powell waving a vial of liquid calling it a weapon of mass destruction) and now genocide of "sub-humans" in Palestine. You couldn't make it up bit it happened and continues to happen. And we're being manipulated to follow the plan, When war comes, we'll be all-in to save our "way of life".

I think the West is in even more dire trouble than the original communists. At least atheism is a principle, wrong as it is. What's growing in the West is utter indifference. People are living like animals with thought of their deaths completely suppressed. Didn't Christ reserve His greatest disdain for the 'lukewarm'. And a West consisting of people who believe in nothing will fight for nothing.

There is a clear promise from our lady that Russia will convert, just as there are many prophecies that talk about the conversion of France. This does not mean that we should ignore any restrictions on the freedom of Catholics that occur in these two countries with a prophetic perspective in mind and be optimistic for them. However, in the West, we still have little freedom enough to denounce the evils of these countries (as, for example, in this forum) and any prophetic relationship between them and the antichrist, while in Russia, if we denounce Mother Russia as the engine of misfortune for the world in the 20th century, we run a serious risk to our freedom and even integrity. I think it is fair to show solidarity with Catholics in Russia who do not have the freedom to carry out a Catholic apostolate and with Catholics in Ukraine who suffer persecution and destruction of their churches. I frankly think that we Catholics in the West, with the freedom to criticize the government in the comfort of our own homes, are not worthy of tying the shoes of Christians who suffer persecution, whether in the Middle East or in China and Ukraine.
