What is the current consensus regarding Fr. Michele Rodrigue? Does anyone know his current canonical status as a priest? Yesterday John Henry Westin of LifeSiteNews had a new interview with him. John Henry was joined by Xavier Reyes-Ayral for the interview. Xavier is the author of a book called “Revelations” and has become very popular on the Catholic prophecy speaking circuit on YouTube etc. Does anyone know anything about Xavier, or his position on any major modern apparitions that do not yet have ecclesiastical approval?
Any apparition that has not been formally approved, will not receive formal approval, due to the changes set by the Dicastry for the Doctrine of faith. It will only ever have a nihil obstat. Xavier is open to Garabandal and Medjugorje, but tends to focus more on apparitions in France that have been approved. I have not seen anything publicized regarding any changes to the faculties of Fr. Rodrigue.
The Diocese of Amos, afaik, has not booted him out. The messages were disavowed by the Bishop of Hearst-Moosonee (where Fr. M. is still incardinated) as well as the Bishop of Amos. Shortly after the hub bub, the Bishop of Hearst-Moosonee suddenly "was retired" for unknown reasons. So, as far as I know, he is considered a retired priest, with faculties, residing in the Diocese of Amos, but incardinated in the Diocese of Hearst-Moosonee. (pls forgive any spelling errors) That's pieced together from many different sources.....
Deuteronomy 18:22 when a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously; thou shalt not be afraid of him. https://wherepeteris.com/why-smart-people-believe-crazy-things/ 'When news of the death of Pope Benedict XVI broke on December 31, the expectations of many were shattered in a corner of the Church. It was not the result of grief over the death of our pope emeritus, but because it meant future events would not occur in the way they thought they would. Back in 2019 Fr. Michel Rodrigue, a French Canadian priest who claimed to have prophetic and apocalyptic visions of the future, said that he had received a private revelation about Popes Francis and Benedict: “The Antichrist is in the hierarchy of the church right now, and he has always wanted to sit in the Chair of Peter. Pope Francis will be like Peter, the apostle. He will realize his errors and try to gather the Church back under the authority of Christ, but he will not be able to do so. He will be martyred. Pope emeritus, Benedict XVI, who still wears his papal ring, will step in to convene a council, attempting to save the Church. I saw him, weak and frail, held up on either side by two Swiss guards, fleeing Rome with devastation all around. He went into hiding, but then was found. I saw his martyrdom.” It appears that with the passing of the pope emeritus, Pope Francis will not die before his predecessor, Benedict will not convene a council, and Benedict will not die a martyr’s death. (Nor, for that matter, did Benedict wear his papal ring following his resignation.) It seems that at this point, Countdown to the Kingdom — a website that promotes unapproved end-times prophecies and a form of millenarianism regarding an “era of peace” before the end of the world — has conceded that, at least on this point, Fr. Rodrigue had made a “prophetic miss.” They have taken down materials related to his prophecies from their website.'
Someone (can't remember who) on the forum mentioned that there are so many messengers now, it's impossible to keep up or even bother with most. The lack of effort on the part of most Bishops to take these things in hand as they should have over the years, along with the Vatican's new guidelines, makes it pretty clear it's best to just ignore them.....at least for myself...
Yes, I agree, it is best to ignore most messages. The majority is false or demonic prophecy. There is no way the Bishops could keep up with it all. We can lean on apparitions/prophecy that has been deemed worthy of belief by the Holy Catholic Church, such as Fatima, Akita, La Salette, and Quito. I think it could be spiritually misleading or even dangerous to follow unapproved apparitions and messages. The devil knows how to deceive, and he has special strategies regarding the faithful. God bless all here!
Chances of approval would be pretty slim even if our Dear Lord came down. Nothing supernatural to see here, keep on moving.. I have never felt Father Rodrique was legitimate but I will keep reading the few people i do follow.
At least 25% of scripture is prophetic, that we know of. When prophets do speak, they are traditionally ignored at best. Today, most authentic apparitions happen to children. So I pay a lot more attention to current messages from children than from adults. I also pay less attention to lengthy messages than short ones. As well, I disregard messages from people who repeat media talking points. This leaves very few that I consider having the possibility of being authentic in regards to current messages.
This pretty well sums up my thoughts. I leave it all to the experts. It's up to them to fulfil their God given duty.....
Fr Rodrigue is not condemned. Kennedy is incorrect. Rodrigue has not said anything against the Church. And the Warning has been foretold even by St Faustina. So, was St Faustina not Catholic? How can he claim early Catholics did not pray for protection? They were hiding from persecution. I guess he has not read about the catacombs. Fr Rodrigue’s predictions on what is happening geopolitically has been spot on. Kennedy has no idea what happened with Sister Lucy of Fatima. The video is silly.
I find Kennedy Hall to be very often out of his lane of expertise in regards to the topics he speaks about. Which is why I blocked his YouTube channel.
And the same with the wherepeteris.com site. Be cautious with either one. One can fall off the Barque on either side.
Kennedy believes he is the sole authority on all things catholic. It's quite annoying. And he's just plain wrong about many things
Mike Lewis, the man who runs wherepeteris.com, is a “progressive” Catholic. I would not listen to him.
