Will we be able to hold our babies in Heaven?

I'm currently miscarrying my baby. This makes 4 babies I've lost without ever getting to meet and hold them. I'm having a hard time, and wondering yet again...Will I get to see them as babies in Heaven? Or will I miss that forever, as we will all be adults then?

All I've ever wanted here on earth was to take care of babies, since I was very little. I don't know how to imagine an eternity without babies/children.

I'm so heartbroken. Please pray for me. I named her Marie Therese. I felt St. Therese helped bring me this baby, but I guess this baby was for Heaven.

Last night I was praying while I mowed my land, talking to St. Zelie. She wanted to be a saint (and of course became one) but had said in one of her letters that she didn't know how to be one. I asked her last night, if she knew how my family could be closer to God, what's one thing she would change in my family right now? I began miscarrying maybe an hour later. I know she lost 4 babies/children herself. There's a reason for it all, but it is still so very hard. I've offered it all to God, but it still breaks my heart.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I have been there. I’m not sure how to console you. It’s obvious that you pray often and that everything happens for a reason. I remember one time in my past, I was despondent. I took a walk in a cemetery and saw the following inscription on a stone: one day we will understand.
I am praying for you and your family during this sad time.

My understanding is yes. But they might not be babies anymore when you meet them. At least, this my understanding from the testimonies of NDE's I have seen. Also, I am truly sorry for your loss. You have my prayers.

Mary has held Jesus as a baby in multiple Marian apparitions throughout history. So I'd say there's very good reason to hope you'll be able to hold your babies again too.

I prayed the Chaplet of St. Joseph for God to comfort you, your husband, and your entire family. I believe that babies populate heaven; in a way, it reflects the image of our Lord as He appears in Revelation 12.

I'm not a Mom, PF. But Geralyn has experienced two miscarriages: Nathan between Rachel and Patrick in 1988 and Elizabeth in 2000. We love and treasure them and count them among our "brood". To love them from afar without cradling or nursing each of them, however, is a cross. One day there will be a glorious reunion.

Prayers for you and your hubby! A very appropriate name. I just glanced over at a portrait of Therese on the wall. Join with me in prayer, Little Flower.

    A quote from

    St. Zélie Martin

"We shall find our little ones again up above"
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Zélie, when consoling her sister-in-law who had just lost a child...

"I am deeply grieved at the misfortune that has just struck you. Truly, you are sorely tried! It is one of your first troubles, my poor, dear sister. May our good Lord grant you resignation to His holy will. Your dear little child is with Him. He sees you, he loves you, and you will find him again one day. That is the great comfort I felt and still feel." 1

"When I closed the eyes of my dear children and buried them, I felt the sorrow indeed, but it has always been resigned sorrow. I did not regret the pain and cares I had borne for them. Several people said to me, 'It would have been better if you had never had them,' but I could not endure this sort of language. I did not think that the sufferings and anxieties could be weighed in the same scale with the eternal happiness of my children. Then they were not lost forever; life is short and full of miseries, and we shall find them again up yonder.

"It was especially at the death of the first that I was most vividly aware of the happiness of having a child in Heaven. For God showed me in a sensible manner that He accepted my sacrifice. Through my first little angel, I obtained a very extraordinary grace."

Here she relates the cure, . . . of little Hélène, 2 by the intercession of her brother who had recently died. The conclusion follows as a matter of course: "You see, dear sister, it is a great advantage to have little angels in Heaven, but it is not less painful to nature to lose them. These are the great sorrows of our life."

Oh no, I am so very sorry to hear this. You and your family will be in our prayers.
Everyone of the truly faithful is carrying such huge huge crosses at the moment. It seems so depressing, but we I guess we have to put our trust in our Good Lord that He will wipe away every tear.
I am sure your baby is in heaven and you will be able to hold her one day. Marie Therese, what a beautiful name!
God bless you and your family muchly!!

This is a most horrendous cross because you love the wee baby so much and it is so confusing because God is the author of life and your wee one won't make it on this earth but through your love and prayers and desire for baptism this wee child of God will be cherished in heaven. It really is a most horrendous bereavement that many do not understand because there is such a physical and spiritual bond between a mother and a child. I would love to give you such a big hug.

God Bless you and your family to give you the strength to get through this difficult and painful time - you are in my rosary.

I am so sorry, PurpleFlower. I have also lost 3 to miscarriages, and 1 to a terrible illness when he was only a month old.

I read a story once about a mother who had many children, but one of them died shortly after birth. He had bright red hair. The mother grieved for him and raised her other children, but always thought of the baby boy she had lost. When she was on her 90s, she had a vision of a young man who came to her bedside and told her he’d be coming soon to bring her home with him. He had bright red hair. She told her other now adult children about this and she was very happy. She died a few days later.

This story has always given me much comfort, thinking that perhaps my little guy will do the same for me.
