I think it would depend heavily on what type of Franciscan they are, OFM, Coventual or Capuchin. There is a joke among Franciscans that the two biggest arguments with the Franciscans surround the liturgy and food. Another point of fact regarding the Franciscans is that it was St. Francis who revealed himself to the mother of Blessed Carlos Acutis and gave her the prophecies regarding her son.

The only Cardinal who is a Franciscan to my knowledge, who has the name Peter and is a Roman is Pizzaballa.

It’s important to note that the Angelic Pontiff (whoever he may be) will be a Franciscan.

are there still franciscan friars, whom are perpetually itinerant ,can't touch money or use vehicles, always on the move with the bare basic and nothing else? that'd be awesome, if they do this in this wild modern world :coffee:

Another lightning bolt on the cupola...

At 2:49 am on the morning of Monday, May 5, 2025, I was awakened suddenly from a sound sleep by a huge thunderclap. It seemed that the entire city of Rome must have been shaken.

"What the heck was that?" I thought, wondering whether the enormous sound might have been a bomb exploding.

Then, through my window, I saw a massive lightning bolt light up the sky. It was about 2:50 a.m.

Then quickly followed by a second massive thunderclap, and a second lightning bolt at 2:52, followed by a 3rd thunderclap. (I did not see the first lightning bolt, because I was sleeping, and was only awakened by the thunder that followed that first, unseen bolt.)

    Then it began to rain.

At 6 p.m. this afternoon on via delle Fornaci, by chance, in bright sunshine now (because the rain stopped early this morning) a young, smiling woman came up to me and said, "Hi! Do you remember me? I once visited your offices in Front Royal, Virginia!"

"I do remember you!" I said. "But... I forget your name..."

"I am Marilis, Marilis Pineiro," she said. "Remember? I was the nun who used to work at the Washington nunciature when Archbishop Viganò was there... you and I met when you visited him... Then I came to visit you..."

"Ah!" I said, "yes... of course..."

I asked Marilis to sit down with me for a moment to have a coffee and talk of old times...

"Did you hear that thunderclap last night?" I asked. "It was so loud! It woke me up from a sound sleep..."

"I did!" she said. "It was a tremendous blow, and woke me too. I went to the balcony of my apartment, just near here (she pointed up) and I could see the dome of St. Peter's from my balcony. I snapped a picture just as another lightning bolt fell on the cupola..."

"You took a picture of it!?!" I asked, incredulously. "Is it like that picture from the night Pope Benedict resigned in 2013, on February 11, at about 6 p.m.? May I possibly see it?"

"Sure, I have it right here on my cellphone."

She showed the picture to me.

The lightning bolt came down upon the dome of St. Peter's, but did not strike it, as in 2013. Rather, it divided into three almost equal parts, a bolt descending, then splitting into two bolts continuing to descend.

"Could you email that photo to me?"

"Sure," she said. And she did.

"Could I publish it in one of my letters?"

    "Yes, sure," she said.

And then we began to speak about other things, about Archbishop Viganò, and about the late Pope Francis, and about the upcoming Conclave, and about our lives in general...

The photo Marilis took is above...

Something very interesting happened in the Vatican. It seems those who walk on the Dark Side have settled on Cardinal Parolin to carry on Papa Frankies mission of destroying the Church and going ahead with the construction of the False Church of Prophecy (the Synodal Way). But yesterday it seems Parolin took some kind of Panic Attack in public and had to have medical attention rushed to him (he is in very bad health anyway).

I strongly suspect this was because God directly intervened and he was smitten and warned to back off. I take this as very, very good news.

I believe Parolin had some kind of vision/warning to cease and desist, I suspect it was from the Arcangel Michael.

Heaven is sticking its spoke into some very, very wicked wheels.

This, 'Panic attack', does not seem to be on the news but is mentioned here in passing:

Did Cardinal Parolin have a health scare on Wednesday? Vatican Press Office: ‘No’

VATICAN NEWS // During the press briefing held at 1 p.m. May 2 at the Holy See Press Office, Vatican spokesman flatly denied that Cardinal Pietro Parolin had a health scare episode, which was originally reported by the Italian media.

As reported by CatholicVote, Italian media such as Virgilio Notizie, Il Giornale, and AGI News Agency claimed that Cardinal Pietro Parolin, former secretary of state of the Holy See, had a health incident related to high blood pressure that required the involvement of health workers.

The issue of Cardinal Parolin’s health was not raised by Matteo Bruni during the briefing. But during the Q&A part, Loup Besmond de Senneville, correspondent for the French Catholic daily La Croix asked if the story was true. “No, it’s not true,” the director of the Vatican press office responded laconically. After a follow-up question regarding the involvement of medical personnel, Bruni said, “I have already responded to the question.”

Later, at about 4 p.m., the Holy See Press Office issued an official statement:

“During the meeting with journalists, the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, refuted the hypothesis of Cardinal Pietro Parolin falling ill, specifying that no such incident had occurred. He also denied the involvement of medical or nursing staff.”

Cardinal Parolin has been persistently voiced by the Italian media as the strongest papabile — a candidate likely to become pope.

We ought to remember, the long-awaited Warning will come when things are at the worst.
Rather than dread or worry about who will be chosen as our next Pope, we should also pray for the graces we will need if we have a 2.0. While he had some very admirable traits,......
We don't know where the harbinger will show up, or if he has.

My point is, ever is related.

Third Psalm from tomorrows Evening Prayer as Conclave opens. My bold gives me hope on who is the head of our Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. Vivo Christo Rey! Come Holy Spirit, Come!

Let us give thanks to the Father
    for having made you worthy
to share the lot of the saints
    in light.

    He rescued us
    from the power of darkness
    and brought us
into the kingdom of his beloved Son.
    Through him we have redemption,
    the forgiveness of our sins.

He is the image of the invisible God,
    the first-born of all creatures.
In him everything in heaven and on earth was created,
    things visible and invisible.

    All were created through him;
    all were created for him.
He is before all else that is.
In him everything continues in being.

It is he who is head of the body, the church!
    he who is the beginning,
    the first-born of the dead,
so that primacy may be his in everything.

It pleased God to make absolute fullness reside in him
and, by means of him, to reconcile everything in his person,
both on earth and in the heavens,
making peace through the blood of his cross.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
    — as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. From him, through him, and in him all things exist; glory to him for ever, alleluia.
