I see there is very serious rioting in my former home. It too concerns immigrants and the police have been overwhelmed and lost control. In fact they appear in some cases to be actually helping the rioters. They putting the immigrants out everywhere. This started after two Romany gypsies raped two local girls. The rioting is spreading to other towns.

I had a kind of Charles Dickens type Scrooge dream last night.

I dreamt i was in the far future, that I very old indeed and a little doting and that it was Christmas Eve. I dreamt I was at Mass in my old Parish Church before it was demolished, the one I used to go to as a child. After Mass I wandered out of Church and decided to wander round the city one again to look at it as it was just as it was when I was a child. Most of all I wanted to go down town to City Hall to see the Christmas decorations.

I remember distinclty as one point looking at my watch and being shocked to discover it was 2:30 am right into Christmas day. I also recall talking to one lady and saying I was getting a Godlen Donkey for a Christmas present. :)

Does such a dream mean anything ? I doubt it really. It's what I would call a washing machine dream. It's like looking through the window of a washing machine and watching the clothes go round and round. :)

I had a dream last night that I was in a large Church at Mass with a very Catholic congregation and all at once as I looked down at the altar I knew at once that this was a false Mass although everything seemed correct and very pious. How did I know this was a false mass? Well at the supposed Consecration the priest had left the corporal over the chalice during the consecration.

So in my dream I rose up in the air and began to shout down at the congregation warning them all. Some looked up and seemed very angry, most looked confused , but I had the sense that a few began to realise.

There is nothing quite so nice as floating through the air in a dream.:):)

I had a very strange dream last night about finding a baby, apparently abandoned in a car with the windows all down in someone's driveway. The car was full of snow and the baby was on its side mostly buried under snow in the front seat. I was with an unknown male friend. Our attention was alerted when we heard the baby cry. We were shocked as we moved the snow to find the baby, wrapped up like it was swaddled. He picked it up and oddly didn't know how to hold it, holding it away from him. I took it and, more odd & crazy was that I did not immediately remove all the snow and try to warm the baby. We were in someone's driveway and headed toward their front door.

Maybe I should stop randomly watching baby videos on FB?

Then, I dreamt of seeing 2 Eastern Bluebirds.

I had a dream last night I was in a old fashioned grocery store run by a brother and two sisters. I bought a lot of stuff which came to 20 bills, which I paid for to one of the sisters. Then I remembered some other stuff which the sister serving me said came to five bills. She had to leave before I could pay her and the brother took over. He said I owed them 8 bills.

Its hard to tell with dreams what they often mean. All we are left with is guessing. I think that it comes from me handling a lot of bills fixing my home and car at the moment leading to a certain anxiety about being taken on.

There is a lovely article on Spirit Daily today with advice from the Book of Sirach:

    https://spiritdailyblog.com/health/forget-not

Forget not what it says in the Bible.

Do you not find Old Testament books like Wisdom, Proverbs, or Sirach filled with little gems of great (even health) advice?

Take Sirach as it pertains to food, sleep, and money.

Insomnia? “Wakefulness over wealth wastes away the flesh,” says Chapter 31, “and anxiety over it drives away sleep.+

“Wakeful anxiety banishes slumber; more than a serious illness, it disturbs repose.”
    +
Too much focus on money (the real plague of our era)?
    +
“The rich labor to pile up wealth, and if they rest, it is to enjoy pleasure. The poor labor for a meager living, and if they ever rest, they become needy.”
    +
A key sentence: “The lover of gold will not be free from sin; whoever pursues money will be led astray by it.”
    +
“Many have come to ruin for the sake of gold, yet destruction lay before their very eyes; it is a stumbling block for fools; any simpleton will be ensnared by it.”
    +
That’s not to condemn those who have earned a lot of it—just those who hoard and have placed the accumulation of money as their primary motivation. Modesty is the rule (and so critical in this time when the dollar sign shouts in neon all around us).
    +
“Remember that the greedy eye is evil.
    +
“Who has been tested by gold and been found perfect?” says Sirach. “Let it be for him his glory; Who could have sinned but did not, and could have done evil but did not? So his good fortune is secure, and the assembly will recount his praises.”
    +
    Table etiquette?
    +
“Are you seated at the table of the great?” says this same chapter. “Bring to it no greedy gullet, nor say, “How much food there is here!”
    +
“Eat, like anyone else, what is set before you, but do not eat greedily, lest you be despised. Be the first to stop, as befits good manners; and do not gorge yourself, lest you give offense. If there are many with you at table, do not be the first to stretch out your hand. Does not a little suffice for a well-bred person?”
    +
It seems these days we all have trouble moderating what we eat. But if a person does: “When he lies down, he does not wheeze. Moderate eating ensures sound slumber and a clear mind on rising the next day. The distress of sleeplessness and of nausea and colic are with the glutton!”
    +
Okay, back to insomnia. One could add heartburn, shortness of breath, and, for that matter, arrhythmia.
    +
“Listen to me, my child, and do not scorn me; later you will find my advice good. In whatever you do, be moderate, and no sickness will befall you. People bless one who is generous with food, and this testimony to his goodness is lasting.”
    +
    Meanwhile:
    +
“Let not wine be the proof of your strength, for wine has been the ruin of many. As the furnace tests the work of the smith, so does wine the hearts of the insolent.
Wine is very life to anyone, if taken in moderation.”

Lately, I've been dreaming a lot about cemeteries. In one of the most recent dreams, I noticed that the two main entrances had been closed, making it impossible for me to get out.

Last night I had a dream that I was at my town’s community complex which I usually hang-out at before work, I was with one or two fellow-Catholics (who don’t exist in real life) and we were arguing with two or three atheists.

For my argument, I was arguing with an atheist about a sign showing in the sky that day, that showed that the Chastisement was imminent, I was trying really hard to make him see the obvious, that the sign was really there, as it really was there and anyone could clearly see it, I wasn’t even arguing whether the sign showed a Chastisement was coming or not, just that it was there. But the atheist obstinately refused to acknowledge that the sign was there, like he couldn’t believe his own lying eyes; a few moments later the Chastisement struck and I just barely managed to avoid the ceiling landing on top of me. (In reality, if the Chastisement struck, the building along with the vast majority of my town would be underwater.)

I then spent the last part of the dream trying to convince the atheist, who was dying after having the ceiling fall on him, to repent and die in a State of Grace, as he had fallen into despair and wanted to simply accept the consequences of his actions rather than repent.

The dream has encouraged me to put more effort into offering up prayers in reparation for the sins of the world, and also for the conversion of sinners.

I think more and more Catholics will get dreams like this as the times draw closer.

St Therese of Liseaux was asked one time what she dreamed about? She replied that she always dreamed about beautiful flowery meadows with bunny rabbits. Such a lovely innocent soul. Bunny rabbits and meadows..sign.

I have a dream that keeps recurring over and over again in different forms and that is of fighting the devil in my sleep. I had this dream last night and the night before only in there two dreams were witches or Satanists. I use prayer to combat the devil but sometimes I cannot recall the words. All I could do last night was to use the words, 'Jesus'. Jesus , Jesus and it did the trick.

I think night time can be a great play time for the demons as they can influence out imagination as we sleep/

How, 'real', or 'true' are such phenomena. Well as with life during the day I think some dreams and nightmares are true and some are just the imagination wandering about wildly. Like a washing machine just churning around. But its fun and good I think to pay attention to them. For myself I love dreams. They are an adventure.

Another dream I often have is going to pray in a very ancient and venerable looking Eastern Basilica of Cathedral dedicated to Our Lady. It is very like the Hagia Sofia in Constantinople.

I had a dream a couple weeks ago that was very unsettling. I have prayed about it for some time now for its meaning and if it was real or my imagination had gone wild. But its still very vivid now as the day it occurred.
I dreamt that I was in the house that I grew up in and was at the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement. To the left was a smokey grey like misty area maybe 2 x 2 foot. I saw a small childs legs coming out of it as though they went into this area head first and all I saw was the legs . I quickly reached out to grab the child by its legs and pulled as hard as I could and I can remember in the dream that it pulled on my shoulder so hard I felt that had popped my shoulder out of place. The dream abruptly ended and I am not sure if I had saved the child or not but I think I did as I did not feel any anguish over it. I immediately awoke from the dream and my shoulder was in extreme pain and I had to pop it back into place. It was very sore the rest of the night and into the following day. I am not sure if this was a spiritual battle I faced or if it was some sort of warning.
