I prayed for all of you today and left all in the hands off St Therese's
Her house that she grew up in was very emotional I cried like a baby and had the privilege again of touching the relics I once carried

Today is the Feast day of St. Faustina of Divine Mercy. However, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus is of course one of the Doctors of the Church and a great Carmelite Saint. But what is so significant about St. Therese?

Without doubt her spirituality which can be described as the elevator of Love rests on two central pillars.
    1. The concept of making an offering of ourselves to God. In fact she is famous for her Act of Oblation.
    2. The distinct way in which this Act of Oblation is done. In other words it is an act of oblation to Merciful Love of Jesus.

To understand better, the following words from her autobiography are illuminative:

"I received the grace to understand more than ever before how much Jesus desires to be loved.
I was thinking about the souls who offer themselves as victims of God's Juatice in order to turn away the punishments reserved to sinners, drawing them upon themselves. This offering seemed great and very generous to me, but I was far from feeling attracted to making it.
From the depths of my heart, I cried out: O my God! Will your Justice alone find souls willing to immolate themselves as victims? Does your Merciful Love need them too?
    "

Hence, in one single act of perfect Love she composed the Act of Oblation to Merciful Love - an offering of herself as a Victim of Holocaust to God's Merciful Love.

Indeed, this perfect Act of Love contains within it the desire that it be renewed continuously with each and every beat of her heart!

Thank you all some pics as promised. the first is me sitting at Therese's front door, next is her bed where Our Heavenly mother cured her and last is a portrait painted by her sister ceiline. it was a joy to walk round her garden and relive every thing that Therese mentioned in her writing's. as I walked round her house I had a sense of little therese running about like a child saying come John lets see here lol here is my garden my living room etc etc I could feel it so strongly.

The next set of pictures are very very emotional for me the first pic is me touching the very relics that I once carried on my shoulder I am touching a rosary bracelet of St Agatha that my daughter bought in malta she asked me to do this for her  the last two pics are of the bronze statue of therese at the basilica my dear wife wanted me to see it what happened she never expected, as I approached the statue there is a cross in her hands what my wife didnt realise was the cross is a wooden cross not part of the statue I lifted it and handed it to my wife saying " here do you accept your cross" I knew myself this is what St Therese was giving me and my wife a chance to embrace our journey our cross...the last pic had my wife and family in tears, I just felt I had to hold hands with my beloved sister...May Therese answer all off your petitions and may she be ever interceding for all of us..but for now au revoir  relics.jpg
