Very terrifying. I experienced that once some years ago traveling north for a school conference. The white out was extreme. Disorienting. There was no stopping. We could only go forward. What a relief to finally see the lights of the town ahead of us.

This is off subject but this thought occurred to me just now. Your faithful joyful commitment to your adoration hour makes me think of all the Eucharistic adorers across this whole country and I thought of the Ten Good Men of Abraham's prayer to save Sodom. I've been praying lately for our country begging God for the sake of the Ten Good Men to spare our country. Saying: Father surely we must have the equivalent of Ten good men. And just now I realized that we do. Like an answer to my prayer. There are so many good Catholic prayer warriors in our land. Like you. And others steadfastly keeping their vigil with Our Lord. And I thank God you made it safely home!!:)

Glad you had the protection of Our Lotd and His Angel with you on your ride home!

It's snowing this morning, but Geralyn and I are traveling south to Binghamton today to purchase a new car and it's sunny there.:ROFLMAO: Lake effect is different from a storm front. There's so much moisture that can be drawn from nearby Lake Ontario that it creates it's own winter pattern regardless of what major fronts are moving across the USA at any one time. We're used to dealing with it. The banks of snow on either side of our driveway got to 7 ft. last winter. Not nearly so bad right now; they are at 4 ft.

In the bookcase in the living room while I was young growing up, my father, John, had stuck a book of humor filled with 1-page drawings of priests in various funny situations.

One was a WWII scene with a priest dismissing soldiers at Holy Mass with the words, "Ite, Missa est!" with enemy bullets flying overhead and the soldiers fleeing at the last second. Another had a priest opening his rectory door and the pastor "gratefully" accepting the gift of a Bible from a couple. In the background is the Christmas tree with a pile of Bibles already received. Another was a priest zipping down a highway in his open convertible with his guardian angel cringing in fear sitting in the back seat.

My Dad had a funny way of inserting the Faith into virtually every situation. I think that is why Msgr. Watley would show up for dinner periodically at home because he enjoyed my holy Mom and my father's humor!

Eternal rest grant unto Msgr. Watley, O Lord; let perpetual light shine upon him.

Don't give me too much credit. Msgr. Francis has consigned me to that hour!

Here we go again. Latest forecast has the storm coming in late Saturday through Sunday. Heavy wet snow with high winds, power outages likely this time around.

:( All up the east coast of the USA right? Was watching Ryan Hall talking about it earlier.

Yes, down the east coast. Looks like parts of Virginia and the Carolinas could see significant snowfall.

I saw that and thought of you. We may or may not get it. It's a wait and see right now. I will keep you in prayer.

Praying today:) I was just reading Padre Pio saying that all suffering should be accepted with resignation as coming from the Hand of God.

But it is wonderful to know that with prayer God enters into these situations for our great good. So praying. :)

Prayers for everyone still enduring this bitter cold. Looks like the worst is still ahead of us- actual temps in single digits (last night minus zero). High maybe 15. More snow Saturday

It is a great mortification. Just going out into it requires fortitude----at least for me. Prayers for all of us facing nature's chastisement.

Prayers for all. Dealing with bitter cold temps -7°with wind chills upwards to -25°. We have been keeping livestock in their shelters. It's a trial for sure.

Thanks, prayers for you as well. It's so freezing I think 32 degrees will feel like spring compared to what we have going on right now.
