The sad thing is that what they are saying is simply the basic Catholic Teaching we were taught as Children. But now Cardinals, Bishops and even Rome itself is teaching something different. Awful.
There can be no difference between the Church Militant and the Church Triumphant, not one bit more than that between Christ on Earth and Christ at the right hand of The Father. If there is any attempt to change the Militant doctrine, one must stick to the Triumphant doctrine, because it is the doctrine of the saints who were once militant here on Earth. It is very difficult to know what to do. Perhaps keep it at love God with all one’s got, your neighbour as yourself and, as you say, keep the Commandments.

I have written before about the Franciscan friar, Father Ante Antić (1893–1965), a wonderworker to whom Padre Pio often directed people for confession, even though the two had never met or known each other. Father Antić possesed similar gifts of spiritual insight and prophecy. On this occasion, I am sharing a friar testimony from 1971 that relates to this subject. "A friar once told me this story. He had come into conflict with his superior and was convinced that he was right and that his superior was wrong. Having heard that Father Antić could read souls and had the gift of spiritual insight, he decided to visit him in the midst of his distress. They had never met before, neither had ever seen the other. At the monastery, the guardian told him, "Wait here in the hallway. After lunch Father Antić will be on his way to the church. When he passes by, simply join him." Father Antić walked past him, then approached him as though they had known each other for years. Without the friar saying a single word or explaining his situation, Father Antić looked him straight in the face and said: "You are right. Your superior is not. But obey him—obey him." I think we have to remind ourselves there is a lot of good people in the Church, lay & priest who are faithful to God and a light to the world. The parable of the wheat & tare speaks powerfully to our present situation.
I agree wholeheartedly. I especially agree with your statement that they didn’t need to do these consecrations to preserve Tradition. They only needed to do it to continue the SSPX.
If we look at St Paul in Acts we can see that he was very closely led by the Holy Spirit in all that he did. In one place he was told that no one would even try to hurt him, he was warned of going to certain places and called to others. Why was this? Because the Devil was stronger in some places than in others. In the Parable of the Wheat and Tares: Matthew 13:24-30 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ “ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ “ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ ” We can see a type of the True Catholic Church and the False Catholic Church growing up side by side. Both Churches look exactly the same from the outside. The reason why the Devil took over Rome and the Vatican is because of his pride. He thinks in terms of the top down whereas God thinks of the little ones from the bottom up . A good way of looking at it is that the true Church are doing the house cleaning whereas the False Church owns the house. That is why Rome must be destroyed and the Vatican ended Satan is running things there at the moment top to bottom. The Vatican is not the Church. It is only an institutional entity. Soon there will be no more Vatican. But the Church will operate perfectly fine without it.. in fact it will be far,far,far better of without it.
Yes, moving from ambiguity to outright endorsement, to me, signifies we are very much at the end of the age... Come Lord Jesus! Unfortunately, especially clergy whom adhere to the Truth in their preaching, will face outright persecution. The temptation will be to say, "Well, that is the documented position, but..." Lord have Mercy!
Personally, I see a lack of willingness, both on the part of the Vatican and the FSSPX, to avoid a schism. I believe that, because of this crisis, a certain perception of illegitimacy will eventually affect the Tridentine Mass throughout the world, and, as a result, the Eastern liturgies will become increasingly important as a means of reuniting the Church. I believe we are witnessing the beginning of a possible schism and also approaching a synodal collision course that could lead us to an even greater schism. I can envision the end of this crisis when the root of all schisms is overcome through a Eighth Ecumenical Council, in union with our Orthodox brothers. After all, whether we like it or not, a certain sense of unity and spiritual strength within the Church was lost when the Churches with apostolic succession became separated in 1054.

Therefore, these condemnations compel us to love Holy Church even more, and to provide for her needs with all our strength, now more than ever. It would seem without saying, that the Fraternity seems to envision themselves living out the Faith in an analogous manner similar to that of a sister Church (ex. the Maronite Church), while holding onto the Ancient Liturgy (TLM). Unfortunately, the Hammer has already fallen. The Vatican has made her choice and the limb has been amputated. The chances for rehabilitation are nil apart from unconditional surrender.
Hopefully a good, holy, wise Pope will come along and clean this mess up. I think really it's a storm in a tea cup. It could very easily have been avoided with good will on both sides. The sad thing is that ordinary obedient Catholics who have concerns about many bad things going on in the Church will now be portrayed as disobedient and schismatic.
It is said that the impetus for the 'communion for the civilly divorced and remarried' in Amoris Laetitia came from dialogue with the Orthodox Church.
Oh ok. I had seen that before but thought it was people combining the FSSP and SSPX and speaking of them as a whole. I see that the full title of SSPX is actually FSSPX.
