Have y'all heard of this?

There is a traditional Catholic institute called the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation, and they're coming to talk at my parish next weekend, so I looked them up and found they have videos about creation vs. evolution, based on Church teaching and the history of all of it.

My husband and I watched the first two free videos and were absolutely stunned. I have always believed in a literal interpretation of the Creation account in Genesis, but what I didn't really understand was the origins of the idea of evolution. I can't even describe how much the second video shook me to the core. I wish I could make the whole world watch these videos and see what the devil has been up to through the proponents of evolution. We have all been influenced by it, whether or overtly or subtly.

I am dying to know what y'all think of these. Please watch them and let me know!

I have believed in geocentrism for a long time and a young earth. I am familiar with the Kolbe centre and also Robert Sungenis who is very knowledeable on creation as well.

 

I have always believed in young earth creationism as well, but I didn't know about the Kolbe center and thought it was only a small portion of Christians being the lone voice in the wilderness. I always thought that was strange and that there should be Catholics leading the way on this!

What they talked about in those videos, especially the second one, had me literally shaking by the end. The pure evil behind evolution....and how evolution "science" has been the catalyst for so many other evils in society.... It's horrific.

 

There is no teaching on believing the "literal interpretation" of Genesis whatever people may mean by this. The question of the soundness or otherwise of evolutionary theory is another matter.

 

I often wonder what to make of prehistoric humans in the context of adam and even and wondering did they exist when there were remains of supposed earlier humans found like homoerectus, Neanderthals etc. I believe in God and Jesus hundred percent but am confused with this supposed scientific evidence and don't know what to make of it

 

I take Christ at his word when talking about Adam and Eve.

But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female'. (Mark 10v6)

Watch those videos I linked! I'm waiting on the rest of the videos I bought as dvds, but they are going to present what the Church has traditionally always taught about creation, and show from science itself the refutation of evolution.

The first two videos give an overview and history of the origins of evolution. It is eye-opening and downright shocking.

This is a great book that lays out the theological teaching and scope of Catholic opinion. That the universe could literally be 15 billion years old etc etc in no way undermines Catholic teaching. That life has organically unfolded itself in myriad ways and forms over millenia is also not undermining of Catholic teaching. Evolutionary theory even from a strictly philosophical position is self defeating to say nothing of it weak scientific credibility. Fr. Riperger has a number of talks on YouTube on this that some may find helpful. It is a fascinating area and there is nothing to fear when we remember that the point of origin and return is the Living God.

I think there is danger in believing that God set things in motion and then sat back as they unfolded themselves in countless ways and forms. It leads to a weakening in the belief that God is intimately involved in every single event, no matter how big or small. Not one sparrow falls without His consent.

 

What happened to their "The Missing Link" Theory, until now they haven't found it, it was just all propaganda for the destruction of Christianity.

Currently, on my journey of faith, I find there are two things which exist and they apply to everything.

The first would be facts and details. Things like laws, locations, morals and such. But these facts are enfolded into a greater story, which also mirrors our lives. As our lives are also a story.

I find myself often getting caught up in the weeds of details and facts, while losing the perspective of the greater story. The grand epic of the biblical narrative.

For example, there are sulphur balls on the ground around Sodom and Gomorrah. Also pillars of salt. Now, was the story of Abraham and Lot a narrative given to explain these things. Allegedly, Moses wrote Genesis by divine intervention. Could the divine inspiration be historically false but factually true? Because the message is in the story, not the details/facts. The Creator God wanted to impart a story we could understand.

So, for me it isn't so important regarding the facts/details. But the message of what God conveyed. Jesus often spoke in parables where the story was historically false but factually true. I don't see why this can't be true with the book of Genesis.

This doesn't mean evolution isn't evil, which it is. But it means it is important to integrate the mysteries of Genesis into our beings. To see the world through them.

 

There is an awful lot of information we are told by the world that are lies.

Remember 'safe & effective vaccines'.

The media pumps such propaganda that makes Goebbels look like an amateur.

I think that applies here.
