Keeping abreast of scandal within the Church can be a real downer! At what point does such news prove helpful? I suppose someone in the dark may be motivated to seek out the excellent and encouraging news about the Church which faithful broadcasters provide? Still, more and more I desire to just ignore the discouraging news . I did notice the few times I've watched a Taylor Marshall clip of late it seems he's expanded his repertoire beyond simply "the Latin community" focus. P.S. I am with you Terry. We all know things are bad but I guess i am now trying to guard my heart. I try to ignore the next new terrible very bad thing that seems to pop up like weeds every other day. And I try to pray. Just pray.
I totally agree. And I’m greatly thankful that I have great priests and holy Masses. They are truly a Godsend. So much to be thankful for, my heart is full.
The difficulty these days of attending the TLM is that Bishops in various dioceses have come down hard on the Mass of the Ages. This tends to cultivate an understandable reaction of "circling the wagons". And then it repeats itself in another diocese, makes the news on the internet reality... opposing sides are formed and the devil has a hay day. I believe the more proper initial response is a type of grieving which can lead to prayer and fasting. But then the devil sneaks in and fosters more finger-pointing instead. O Lord, how difficult it is to focus more on prayer and fasting, than on slipping into accusation, without taking up spiritual weapons to stand against JoeJerk. Teach us how to better wield the tools of the Spirit amidst today's confusion so that the joy of the Holy Spirit may triumph! Ephesians 6: 12 For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. 15 As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace. 16 With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. I think pretty well everyone knows what is going on in the Church and where we are all heading with this. Not only that but we all pretty well knew a long, long time before the vast majority of Catholics no matter how learned and well read knew. I think this was because of Devotion to Mother of God. Our Blessed Mother has a way of keeping our eyes wide open and saves us from inner blindness and we should be so very,very grateful for this. Even now many , many Catholic observers are playing catch up on things we here fully understood all those years ago. I am not saying this from arrogance it was a given Marian grace. But I also understood long ago that there was no good beating a dead dog in these things. Since we all knew it was no good going on an and on about. It would be a but like people who keep reading those , 'True Crimes' , magazines. Why focus on evil people doing evil things when we know all about them and understand their Satanic agenda. But I do understand that there are maybe some people who are still called to send up some kind of warning out there. But at the same time I hope they are aware that there may come a time when they may come to understand that focusing on such things may no longer be helpful . That they've done all they can. I do distantly pay attention to the goings on in Satan's Vatican but it really is distant. Their days are numbered and soon the back of Satan will be broken by Mary. Thank God for it.
One thing make me so very,very sad and breaks my heart. The silence of our Bishops. They are the shepherds of our flocks. They should have been the very first to sound the alarm. They never have. I suppose now they never will. How terrible,. How truly terrible.
As in the time of St Athanasius. Or Henry XIII. Like the quote I saw recently --out of the first 12 bishops, one betrayed Christ, 10 were cowards and one went the Cross with Him.

It seems to be the same old story. Good things are said but also the evils are allowed and ignored. I pray for the pope and the bishops and God will judge everything. I'm getting to the stage with Pope Leo where I ignore him. That's where I was with Pope Francis also.
Although one has to have grave reservations about Pope Leo, he seems to have said a lot that is true to the French, but he seems to have intellectual weaknesses. That French slogan can sound laudable on the surface, but if one thinks about it, it is wholly contradictory. ‘Liberty’ and ‘Equality’ cannot coexist. The attempt to reconcile them led to ‘Fraternity’ taking on the meaning of slaughtering one’s brothers. Pope Leo does not seem to understand such vital distinctions and therefore fails to understand history. Similar happened in his praiseworthy standing up against Donald Trump at the beginning of the latter’s attack on Iran, when he went too far into pacifism, nullifying Iran’s right to defend itself in the process. I still have a little hope that Leo might still begin to learn from his mistakes.
I cannot bring myself to read the articles or watch the videos, but I send my prayers to Rome and for our Church daily.
We just watched the papal mass on live-stream from the US. Many of my wife's family (from France) were in attendance in Paris. I think the mass and the venue (along the Champs-Élysées) was very edifying and the estimated numbers were 700,000. Pope Leo gave a good homily and celebrated the mass with very good French. At first, 6 months ago, some of the organizers were unsure if there would be enough people coming but a lot of things fell into place over the last couple of months. This visit is a big deal in France and keep in mind that Pope Francis did not formally visit France in such a manner during his pontificate. I'm praying that this visit continues to go well including the mass in Lourdes.
Around five per cent of people in France attend Church. Of this tiny minority who are still actually practising their Faith many, especially the young, cling to the old mass. The old mass which Pope Leo is trying to annihilate. His visit to France reminds me of someone visiting a sick and dying grandmother to whom he is administering a head kick for not behaving as he thinks she should. This rather than asking why his grandmother is dying in the first place. Pretty well most young people who return to the Church are going to the Old Mass. Yet he is forcing the old mass to shut down.
