Selling off the rich heritage of The Church is a ‘one-trick pony’. We know very little of it would reach the genuine poor. But what then? Once it’s gone, it’s gone. And Jesus Himself said that Mary had the better part over Martha. But it all depends, as you say, whether it’s for the glory of God or man. A Cathedral is generally a gesture by the people of God to His Glory. What on Earth is a churchman doing going around with obscenely expensive jewellery? Who is he trying to get people to be impressed by, God or himself?

Some of the Church Fathers believed that the figure of the "Katechon",the force or power restraining the rise of the Antichrist was, already in Paul’s apostolic age, the Roman Empire. Ironically, throughout history, the papacy could be seen as a historical continuation of the Empire that Jesus converted and to which He entrusted the kingdom that had previously belonged to the Jews. The papal title "Pontifex Maximus" and the so-called “royal scarlet vestments” would be powerful symbols of this continuity. I think that, throughout history, the papacy has manifested some of the darker aspects of both the Roman Empire and the Kingdom of Israel. The figure of the pope-king, at the expense of the pope as shepherd, could be seen as an indirect consequence of the fall of the Roman Empire, which had served as an instrument of support for the first seven Ecumenical Councils. Seems to me that Russia is up to no good. What exactly is going on in this lab if they are experimenting with bio weapons. It has been reported that Doxycycline is very effective in treating this bacteria if caught early.

One of the Gospels recently made me sit up and take notice. It was on prayer. Matthew 7:9-11 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! It suddenly came to me that God really, really does hear our prayers and answer them! You may well say, of course he does, stupid, did you not know that? But it is one thing to know in the head and know in the heart. I suddenly got the grace to see it at least for a little while that it really is true; God does here and answer. If we invoke demons we know they hear and answer. As Padre Pio said there are so many demons that if we were to look upwards they would black out the sky . So when we invoke demons we pull back the curtain and permit them to enter. a terrible thing. But as praying to God brings blessings, invoking demons brings down a curse. So we may expect the most terrible events to occur in the State of Iowa.
People who invoke demons remind me of little children who reach up and pull a pot of boiling hot water down on their heads. May God forgive them they know not what they do.
I think many of those who instigated these things know very well what they are doing. It’s nearly built into our DNA, or at least the cultural conditioning is immensely strong, so that taking this option is unlikely to be accidental. It is the ordinary bystanders who are so bamboozled by ‘equality’ and ‘religious freedom’ that they have lost the will or even the sense of purpose to stand up to it that might have the excuse of ignorance. But, yes, this will have consequences for Iowa, God help them.
The thing about demons is that no one can really ever know what they are like until they meet one face to face. I think of very old Scandavian/ root words like 'Weird' , 'Errie' , 'Other' . In them their is a total absence of the Holy Spirit. A great darkness. A total evil. Malevolence. An implacable, vile violence and hate. It is as if everything we knew was turned inside out. This is why they are very,very scary. People think they can understand them in what they know. But nothing we can ever know can compare to them. That is why no one who has ever encountered them can ever be anything but ignorant as regarding them. We may think we know . We do not. The best description of them comes from St Brigit of Sweden. The devil appeared to her and when she asked him who he was he said, 'I am darkness itself'. That's it in a nutshell. These poor people have no idea. I heard a story of an event during the Second World War. A husband and wife who worked for MI5 (British Intelligence) decided to summon Satan as part of the War effort (many intelligence agencies have experimented with the occult). To this this they used an old Black Book. They were found the next morning screaming at the top of the voices totally mad. They were moved to a Mental Hospital still screaming and died there after a while; still screaming.
I suppose it would have been more accurate to say that they think they know very well what they are doing. Being evil themselves, perhaps they imagine the devil as being somewhat like them, but they ain’t seen nothing yet. If they think they will be rewarded, I read recently (think it was on ‘The Catholic Thing’) that the devil despises those who side with him more than anyone.
Most satanists don't actually believe in the devil like they don't believe in God. They are satanist becasue they believe in self and want to worship that idea as more an anti religous idea. Sad really in all ways.
Todays Gospel is very apropos. Jesus cast out demon but warned it can comr back with 7 more! Our priest homily said when we have our own "demons" - bad habits , spiritual weaknesses, sins cast out if us by Jesus, we must quickly fill in that space with things of God. He needs to be our shield because satan will come back stronger and we are weak human beings. If we leave our souls open and not filled with God, we are very open to worse things happening to us. I thought this was a good word to hear and pass on. Peace.
Sky last night over the Florida panhandle where the hurricane is hitting today. It’s been upgraded to cat 3. I feel for these communities we lived there five years ago and moved north. We went through three of them the worst we endured was Sally and it was a cat 3. We were without power for two weeks.
A Priest after Confession recently gave me a bottle of exorcised Holy Water . Have found it very helpful. Carrying it around and experiencing its protection. Also I'm hoping maybe to find a Priest to help me with deliverance prayers. Please pray for me that I can. I feel I am making progress lately thank God. One step at a time.
