I sensed this before myself. The unveiling of the Medjugorje messages will come next year 2021, just prior to the Warning the following spring, March 2022.

I'm getting increasingly suspicious that this was a deliberate attack on the West by the Chicoms. Granted, many of their own people have been struck down, but the Chinese Communists have never hesitated to kill their own. Given the brazenness and style of their recent propaganda, with its resort to accusations of racism for merely mentioning the origin of this plague, I'd be wondering are they the source of the political correctness of the last few decades that has corrupted our media, our religions, our education and most of our political institutions? Trump's trade war and the uprising in Hong Kong might have made Xi and the rest of his thugs begin to feel desperate.

  3. They're already doing that. Doctors are aware of this drug, already available, for part of the treatment and that it is safe to take while more data is gathered. It can only be gotten in the U.S. (and this is nothing new just for this virus) by prescription. The President is ordering the stepped up production. It's available now....except for any expected panic run on it by those who don't have any symptoms. It's not a preventative but apparently treats symptoms, lessens time of testing positive and can lessen the severity of symptoms....and complications like pneumonia. Other accompanying treatments like Z-Pak appear to increase the efficacy of Chloroquine and doctors are becoming aware of this. Fauci is right to emphasize the necessary precautions we are ordered to take in order to prevent the spread. You can't just take Chloroquine and then expose yourself to the ways that spread the virus. It's not like a vaccine. And therefore more actual data has to be gathered beyond the anecdotal and limited testing done....it's only available because it has been shown for years, as in malaria treatments, that it is safe in general. My doctor already writes prescriptions for it but does not wish, at the present time, to over-prescribe it thus making it unavailable for those who are actually suffering from the symptoms until production is increased. They currently want it to get to those they know are more susceptible/compromised/suffering the symptoms.

Whatever country recovers first will have the world at their feet for taking...it would be like taking over some huge, helpless, hospital.

  5. I think that's almost a given. Trump is the first President who has stopped China's continued theft of high tech, health cures, and blackmail of the U.S. economy. When this "surprise" happened China's economy was in free fall due at least to a great extent to Trump's tariffs and threats of more if Xi didn't begin to play fairly. Xi is a tyrant leader close to Mao type. He had planned on ruthlessly conquering more and more of the world by any means possible. So what a better way of lessening the power of Trump and U.S. in the world than bring down the world economy, calling everything to a halt, use the U.S. Chinese propaganda media machine to blame Trump or lessen his stature than through the main fruit of his actions....the great economy....esp. as the next election approaches. Now, due to this virus, even that voting mechanism could be disrupted, allowing for the left again to cry foul as if it wouldn't be legal, etc. And so far Xi has also been able to use big tech's growing profits due to cheap production in China against the decisions of Trump to bring more and more production back home. Xi would much prefer a Dem. puppet like Biden, accompanied by all the rest of the commie/"socialist" DS, to be able to continue the U.S. take down. Biden already owes China big time....in the amount of around a billion and a half (w/ expectations) given over to the family. Pure evil vs men of good will...in the world now, being fully exposed.

  6. Coronavirus may cause 'grave necessity' for general absolution, Vatican says

Vatican City, Mar 20, 2020 / 11:05 am (CNA).- Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, head of the Apostolic Penitentiary, has said that the coronavirus pandemic may justify the use of general absolution, in extraordinary circumstances, for Catholics unable to go to individual confession.

The Apostolic Penitentiary in Rome is responsible for issues touching the sacrament of penance and the seal of confession.

“The seriousness of the current circumstances requires reflection on the urgency and centrality of the sacrament of Reconciliation, together with some necessary clarifications, both for the lay faithful and for the ministers called to celebrate the sacrament,” Cardinal Piacenza wrote in the formal note from the penitentiary, published March 20.

While acknowledging the extraordinary circumstances of the current pandemic, the cardinal emphasized that canonical norms are still in force.

“Even in the time of Covid-19, the sacrament of reconciliation is administered according to the norm of universal canon law and according to the provisions of the Ordo Paenitentiae,” he said.

The note explains that individual confession and absolution, according to the normal form, remains the ordinary way in which Catholics should receive the sacrament during this time.

As dioceses in the United States have closed churches and suspended regular times for confessions to be heard in church, to avoid crowds gathering, many bishops and priests have adapted to the changed circumstances, offering confession through windows or behind screens outdoors.

The penitentiary’s note recommends that similar measures be adopted as appropriate in other places.

“In the present pandemic emergency, it is therefore up to the diocesan bishop to indicate to priests and penitents the prudent measures to be adopted in the individual celebration of sacramental reconciliation, such as the celebration in a ventilated place outside the confessional, the adoption of a convenient distance, the use of protective masks without prejudice to the absolute attention paid to safeguarding the sacramental seal and to the necessary discretion.”

However, the note explains, the possibility for general absolution does exist in canon law for truly extraordinary circumstances.

“This Apostolic Penitentiary believes that, especially in the places most affected by the pandemic contagion and until the phenomenon recedes, cases of grave necessity are occurring” that meet the legal criteria.

“Collective [general] absolution, without prior individual confession, cannot be imparted except where the imminent danger of death occurs, [there is not] enough time to listen to the confessions of individual penitents, or there is a serious need,” the note says.

The cardinal emphasized that while the diocesan bishop has the authority under law to evaluate local circumstances, he must do so having taken into consideration guidelines already agreed by the bishops’ conference.

In 1988, the U.S. bishops’ conference adopted a policy saying that, outside the imminent danger of death, general absolution can only be imparted to a group of the faithful if they would otherwise be unable to go to confession within a month.

Piacenza also stressed that anyone receiving general absolution would still need to go to individual confession as soon as possible, and this must be explained to them.

Piacenza said that “it is always up to the diocesan bishop to determine, in the territory of his ecclesiastical jurisdiction and in relation to the level of pandemic contagion, the cases of serious need in which it is permissible to impart collective absolution.”

The cardinal’s note reminded bishops that any use of general absolution has to conform to the norm of law.

Priests giving general absolution in particular cases must explain the conditions of general absolution and be physically present to those receiving it, at least to the point of penitents being able to hear the priest’s voice.

The cardinal offered a hypothetical example to illustrate the severe circumstances which would warrant general absolution.

“For example,” Piacenza said, priests could absolve those in medical isolation by standing “at the entrance of hospital wards, where there are hospitalized members of the faithful who are infected and in danger of death.”

Piacenza said that the priest could, if necessary, absolve the Catholics on the ward by “using the means of amplification of the voice as far as possible and with appropriate precautions, so that absolution may be heard.”

The cardinal also urged bishops to consider “where necessary, [and] in agreement with the health authorities,” setting up “groups of ‘extraordinary hospital chaplains,’” using volunteers if necessary, to guarantee the necessary spiritual assistance to sick and dying.

Cardinal Piacenza also said that, given the extraordinary circumstances in many dioceses affected by coronavirus, Catholics need to be aware that the mercy of God was always accessible to them.

“Where the individual faithful find themselves in the painful impossibility of receiving

sacramental absolution, it is recalled that perfect contrition, coming from the love of God, loved above all else, expressed by a sincere request for forgiveness... and accompanied by... the firm resolution to resort to sacramental confession as soon as possible, obtains forgiveness of sins, even mortal sins.”

Piacenza also urged Catholics to pray, and to lean on the spiritual power of the Church, “in particular in the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass, celebrated daily, even without people, by priests.”

“As a good mother, the Church implores the Lord for humanity to be freed from this scourge, invoking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and Health of the Sick, and of her Spouse St. Joseph, under whose patronage the Church has always walked the world.”

I completely agree. Hypnotized is a good word for it. I marvel at it really. And then I wonder why in the world God permitted me to escape it. The only thing I can come up with is a strong devotion to Mary when I was s child and we know she never abandons her children--and a lot of relatives and ancestors praying for me.

  8. Church grants special indulgence to coronavirus patients and caregivers

The Apostolic Penitentiary issues a Decree granting special plenary indulgences for those suffering from the coronavirus pandemic, if specific conditions are met.

On 20 March, the Apostolic Penitentiary issued a decree granting plenary indulgences to “the faithful suffering from the Covid-19 virus, commonly known as coronavirus, as well as to healthcare workers, family members and all those who in any capacity, including through prayer, care for them.”

The document comes in response to pastoral, spiritual and sacramental concerns for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which has raised “new uncertainties and above all widespread physical and moral suffering”.

The decree is signed by Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, the Major Penitentiary of the Apostolic Penitentiary, and the Regent, Father Krzysztof Nykiel.

    Conditions for the plenary indulgence
The Decree grants a plenary indulgence to coronavirus patients quarantined by health authorities in hospitals and in their homes if, “with a spirit detached from any sin, they unite themselves spiritually through the media to the celebration of the Holy Mass, the recitation of the Holy Rosary, to the pious practice of the Way of the Cross or other forms of devotion.”

The plenary indulgence can also be obtained by the faithful if they at least “recite the creed, the Lord’s Prayer and a pious invocation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, offering this trial in a spirit of faith in God and charity towards their brothers and sisters, with the will to fulfill the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer according to the Holy father’s intentions), as soon as possible.”

A plenary indulgence is also granted to healthcare workers, family members and all those who, “exposing themselves to the risk of contagion, care for the sick” under the same conditions stated above.

Also, the faithful who offer a “visit to the Blessed Sacrament, or Eucharistic adoration, or read the Holy Scriptures for half an hour, or recite the Holy Rosary, or the pious exercise of the Way of the Cross, or the recitation of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy” while praying for an end to the pandemic will be granted a plenary indulgence.

    A few clarifications
In a note accompanying the Decree, the Apostolic Penitentiary provided for some eventualities linked with providing the Sacrament of Reconciliation for those affected by the Covid-19 virus.

The note explained that the diocesan bishop has complete discretion over the administration of collective absolution except where there is an “imminent danger of death” or a “grave necessity.” Individual confession remains the ordinary way of celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Also, if there is need to impart absolution to several faithful, the priest is obliged to inform the diocesan bishop as soon as possible.

Bishops are also tasked with evaluating the level of the pandemic in their respective jurisdictions to be able to set up prudent protocols for the individual celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation that safeguards the sacramental seal.

The note also encouraged setting up groups of voluntary “extraordinary hospital chaplains” who, obeying health norms and in agreement with health authorities, can provide spiritual assistance to the sick and dying.

    Indulgences
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, an indulgence is “a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven.” Indulgences are either partial or plenary depending on if they remove part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin.

  10. Priests seek to exorcise pandemic through prayer

MANILA, Philippines — Catholic exorcists are storming the heavens with prayers to end the global scourge of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Fr. Jose Francisco Syquia, chief exorcist of the Archdiocese of Manila, on Thursday called on members of the Philippine Association of Catholic Exorcists (PACE) and priests to recite the “Prayers to Stem the Scourge of the Pandemic,” which was adapted from the Libera Nox Prayers of the Church.

The prayer to fight COVID-19 was prepared by Fr. Winston Cabading, an exorcist of the Archdiocese of Manila.

Cabading said the prayer, which has nine sections, is to be prayed at 8 p.m. every day “until the scourge of the pandemic is lifted by the Lord.”

“Let us pray for our protection and of the whole world from this evil and from the father of this evil. The devil will surely use this present suffering and vulnerability in the world to launch a spiritual attack,” Syquia, PACE secretary-general, said.

“Spiritual warfare is our ministry. This is the side of the battlefield that the Lord has called us to bolster, defend and fight in. May we fight the good fight,” Syquia said.

He recommended the ringing of the “sanctus bells” from the Act of Contrition until the end of the Pope Leo XIII prayer during the 8 p.m. prayer and exorcism.

Meanwhile, Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo, in his blog “Panaghoy,” urged the faithful to stay strong and calm amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have to see that no reality is totally bad. No matter how dark, some brightness is also brought out. Looking at the silver lining can give us hope and it can help us live through the darkness until the light comes out. And light will come out,” Pabillo said.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it,” he said, quoting a Bible verse. ?Instead of worrying, Pabillo said the faithful should pray and repent during the quarantine, which incidentally coincides with the 40-day retreat for the Lenten season.

He said COVID-19 is telling the people to look back to when people connected with family, neighbors and Jesus Christ.

  11. Some Good News: Washington State Is Seeing Coronavirus Curve Starting to Flatten and Level Out (Video)

    This is some good news.

Washington state which was the first state to be hit by the coronavirus is seeing their trendline starting to flatten.
The number of new cases and deaths is starting to see the curve flatten.

Washington state still leads the nation with 1,524 cases and 83 deaths including at least 30 from the Life Center senior home in Kirkland.

Trace Gallagher: You’ll recall the first case was in Washington State. It also is where the death toll is highest. But the University of Washington virology department which is closely tracking Washington state numbers is now seeing the curve there flatten. So overall, US numbers are rising but the first state affected might be seeing a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

  12. Dr. Oz Cheers Chloroquine Treatment on Coronavirus: “Biggest Game Changer of All – Completely Changes Behavior of the Virus – Will Know in Six Days if Successful” (VIDEO)

Dr. Mehmet Oz joined David Asman on Lou Dobbs Tonight to discuss the ongoing coronravirus pandemic.

Dr. Oz harped on the wonderful news on the chloroquine treatment for coronavirus.

Dr. Oz: There was actually pretty big news today. There was a paper that came out yesterday that was being discussed but didn’t get the attention that I thought it would that a paper from France that the use of an old drug, the malaria drug together with the Z-Pac seemed to dramatically impact on this virus. And that could be the biggest game changer of all that can alter if we can ever become Italy… But I’ll give you the biggest fact of all. In this study they shortened the amount of time the patients excreted the virus down to six days. The norm is approaching 20 days. That completely changes the behavior of the virus. Which means it may be actually more like a flu virus in its impact on us. It’s still dangerous but now as contagious… If drug that has already been on the market for 65 years could be effective in treating a new virus, yes there are potential side effects, there are eye problems that potentially arise, we know that we use these drugs commonly. But I think it’s worth the chance. And we should be doing the study starting today! And we’ll know in six days. In the meantime the task force is going to liberalize use of these medications.

Coronavirus: Massachusetts Exempts Abortion from ‘Nonessential, Elective’ Surgery Ban

States across the country put a halt to elective surgery to save medical resources for fighting the Chinese coronavirus outbreak, but Massachusetts is making sure women can end the lives of their unborn children without impediment.

The Massachusetts Department of Health issued a statement:

DPH defines nonessential, elective invasive procedures as procedures that are scheduled in advance because the procedure does not involve a medical emergency; provided, however, that terminating a pregnancy is not considered a nonessential, elective invasive procedure for the purpose of this guidance.

The New Boston Post reported on the development:

The statement does not explain why abortions are exempted from the ban. A spokesman for the state’s public health agency acknowledged a request for comment from New Boston Post early Wednesday afternoon, but did not immediately provide one.

Among the surgical procedures deemed “nonessential” by the state’s public health agency are:

    • Knee replacement
    • Hip replacement
    • Excision of cancerous skin lesions
    • Colonoscopy
    • Tooth Extraction
    • Removal of Ingrown Toenail
    • Kidney stone lithotripsy (a procedure that breaks down kidney stones)
The Post noted that the abortion industry, which has ended the lives of more than 60 million unborn babies since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision made abortion on demand the law of the land, are pleased with the decision, including Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts.

NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts said in a statement:

We thank the Baker Administration for working to preserve continued access to the full spectrum of reproductive health care, including abortion care during this unprecedented public health crisis. Reproductive health care decisions are time-sensitive and patients need speedy access to care. We recognize the intense strain COVID-19 has put and will continue to put on the healthcare system and we are grateful to the administration for listening to our concerns and recognizing the unique impact of COVID-19 on maintaining access to reproductive health care.

But Andrew Beckwith, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute, is outraged by the decision, the Post reported.

“Planned Parenthood’s priority is to keep killing babies even when the whole world is focused on saving as many lives as possible right now, and they’ve even managed to convince the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to prioritize elective abortions during the current health crisis,” Beckwith said in a telephone interview.

Massachusetts Citizens for Life provided a written statement to the Post:

We were disheartened to learn that, upon Governor Baker’s approval, elective abortion will still be permitted in the coming weeks, even while other elective surgeries have been prohibited due to the coronavirus pandemic. Women’s health and safety should be our top priority now, as always. Risking exposure to the highly contagious disease during visits to abortion clinics not only puts our women at risk but their families and those of clinic workers as well. This is yet another indication that the once-popular abortion-rights mantra ‘safe, legal, and rare’ is a complete farce. In the face of a global pandemic, the abortion industry once again demonstrates that protecting women’s health has never been its priority. Instead, the abortion lobby’s singular goal is to increase the bottom line, even at the expense of risking the health and wellbeing of those who enter their clinics and those who work at them during these unprecedented times.

  14. Israeli Pharmaceutical Company Donates 6 Million Doses of Chloroquine to US to treat Coronavirus

President Trump called the news of chloroquine’s effectiveness in treating the COVID-19 virus a “game changer” this week.

This came after three international studies found chloroquine along with Azithromycin was successful in treating the coronavirus.

    The Washington Examiner reported:

Israel’s leading drug producer announced Thursday it will donate 6 million doses of anti-malaria drugs to the United States in hopes that it could be helpful treating coronavirus symptoms.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries says the drug could potentially treat people with the coronavirus and will ship the hydroxychloroquine tablets through wholesalers nationwide by the end of the month and will provide 10 million doses in total, according to Breitbart News.

“We are committed to helping to supply as many tablets as possible as demand for this treatment accelerates at no cost,” Teva Executive Vice President Brendan O’Grady said about the move.

President Trump has expressed support and optimism for potential treatments, including malaria drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine.

You can buy Chloroquine in Latin America. It’s very common there. They take it for malaria. Would have been nice to have known this in January. Gilead Sciences knew this from day one.

OK, Padraig. Time for me to play devil's advocate!:LOL:

I agree with you about former times. The choice was: Go to Holy Mass with your family and risk death for yourselves. Were you guaranteed to die? Only if caught.

The present: Let Holy Mass continue as is and those Catholics that attend will most probably acquire the virus and 5% of them will die. If they don't die they will contribute to the infecting of others who will die. We who love Jesus hopefully do not fear death. But remember how few who attend Holy Mass believe in the Real Presence or are in a State of Grace?

During the plague in the 14th century, over a quarter of Europe perished. But I dare say percentage wise, that more of them were in a state of grace than would be today.:(

The purpose of limiting contact (called social distancing) is to mitigate the spread of the disease. Fewer people acquire the disease, fewer die.

The reality is that we who love the Lord must get off our duffs and use this crisis to better share the Gospel. If a vast majority going to Holy Mass were in a State of Grace, who would worry about death. But it is not the case.

Lord, make me a more effective evangelizer.
