Thank you all for continuing to pray for Alyce. We visited her surgeon earlier this week. He confirmed that her recent MRI showed significant compression of her cervical spinal cord. Thankfully, her symptoms remain relatively mild, and he does not consider this an emergency. However, surgery is only way to protect her spinal cord and prevent future problems. So the decision is one of what risk she is willing to accept. Its risk of surgery vs risk her compression and stenosis gets worse. Also risk that a fall, accident or trauma to her neck and spine lead to not good outcome.

Alyce is leaning toward having the surgery but to wait while we continue seeking medical guidance and a second opinion. Please pray that God protects her during this waiting period and gives Alyce—and all of us—wisdom, peace, and clarity as we make this decision. We are very grateful for your prayers. Please be assured of out prayers for you all. God is Good! Peace

I just said the rosary for you both on a wonderful Spanish evening.. I have been praying on all my rosaries for the past week or so. I will continue to do so. I really admire your Faith.

I came across something Mother Teresa said on intercessory prayer. She said she found it wound up it ended more about God changing herself than anyone or anything else.

This is true I suppose but I very, very much believe in Miracles that things and peoples do get changed and very often too! It would be such a sad, sad World without Miracles.

You two have been through a lot of late.:( Prayers from Geralyn and myself. If you could, please hold Linda Gilbert in your prayers. She is the one who made the prayer blanket Geralyn sent you not too long ago. She is obviously still grieving the death of her hubby.

Thank you for the prayers. That blanket covers us with more than just physical warmth. We will continue to pray for Linda and her husband.

Thank you, Padraig. I believe in miracles too! And sometimes I think the miracle has already been granted. God spared Alyce and me, and through everything that has happened, He has shown us His love and mercy in ways I never understood before. Perhaps prayer changes us because that, too, is part of the miracle. Please keep praying for us both. It means more than you know.

Do you place your hands on her's and pray for healing Miker?
I did some years ago for a very close relative who had a brain tumour. The Lord gave me the scripture verse where he cursed the fig tree. When I prayed with them I took authority over the tumour in Jesus' name and commanded it to shrivel up and die. The surgeon then operated and found the tumour just sitting there, with no roots. He said it had been growing for over 20 years. The person made a full recovery. All praise and glory to God!
I'm keeping you both in my prayers.

We should be very careful with laying hands on another in prayer. We must not touch their head in prayer. Hands on their shoulders for a prayer and to not imitate in any way Priestly blessings.
Miker, I'll keep you and family in my prayers for a little while.

    What a wonderful testimony,
border collie! Taking authority is a privilege of all the faithful, though the headship entrusted to bishops and priests, especially in the realm of spiritual warfare, is Grade A (think of exorcisms today)!

The unique combo of faith in Christ and the truth that we are children of the Father, should give us confidence. Most important is the love we extend to one another. It is of preeminent importance.

1Cor 13:8 Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; 10 but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood. 13 So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

    Mother Teresa
worked miracles and I have been awed to witness miracles myself; still, it was her love that shined out in all she did.

A husband has the spiritual authority to lay hands on his wife and pray for her. So does a wife for her husband. These prayers are very powerful.
But Agnes is right about not doing this in the general way of things. The authority issue is very very important.

I just know some things can get worse if we overstep. And I would never want that to happen. I recently found this out from a very good Priest.

You are absolutely right. Nor should we let anyone lay hands on us to pray. Bad idea.

I was reading some time ago about a lady called "the Angel of Nottingham". One of my friends was a personal friend. She was just an ordinary person with a very close relationship with Jesus. He would often prompt her to go to various places to be a blessing for people. A couple of instances that I remember is that Jesus told her one night when she was praying to go to the hospital and pray with a man called George who was in the 3rd bed on the left in a specific ward. He was asking Jesus to heal him from a very serious illness. She would obey Jesus to his word and never deviated from his instruction.
She stopped her prayers, went to the hospital, went into the ward to the 3rd bed on the left. She told George that the Lord sent her, asked if she could touch his head. She put one finger on his forehead and said, "Be healed in the name of Jesus." She then left the ward and could hear the commotion behind her as he jumped out of bed. She went down the stairs to get out quickly and somehow ended up in A and E. An ambulance had brought in a young girl who had been mangled in a car accident. She overheard a doctor tell her parents that they didn't know where to start because she was so badly injured. She walked over to the stretcher and took the young girl's feet in her hands and said, "Lord put her back on her feet." She then went home. Around a year later a young girl knocked on her door and said she was the girl from the hospital. The Lord had put her back on her feet. She was called the Angel of Nottingham (by other people) because she used to appear and do the task and then disappear again.
