For years, it has been home to the world’s largest LGBT movement; Tel Aviv is often called the number one global city for the LGBT population. And not only that, but they have also been the main sponsors from the beginning of abortion, the LGBT movement, gender ideology, communism, multiculturalism, and other movements that undermine Christian civilization. However, in my opinion, this is for two reasons If we assume that they were initially chosen by God to receive the laws and commandments, and for Christ to be born there, and therefore were under greater spiritual attacks… The same can be said for countries that for many years were the foundation for the spread of Christianity throughout the world. For example, today Spain, France, and Ireland are under heavy pressure from left-liberal ideology, with attacks on history, tradition, and Christian culture—yet for centuries they were leaders in spreading Christianity and promoting Christian civilization. This is a major attack because of their historical role; evil always repays with interest in its revenge. The second reason might be is that God shows: if I am with this Jewish immoral and stubborn people who killed the prophets, who killed my own Son, and who persecute me from my promise to Abraham and abandon the paths I gave them—then how great must my love for humanity be, and how merciful, good, and just I am as God. We often look from our own perspective, but God justifies His actions primarily to the spiritual world to the angels and to those who rebelled, who out of pride could not serve a lower being like man. And yet God, who is above them, shows patience, love, and tolerance... Many people forget that just because Christ reconciled humanity with God and paid the price of redemption, it does not mean that sin has become any less deadly. The gates of heaven have been opened, but the punishment for sin is still death. With all of this from wars to such provocations wrath is only being accumulated until God draws the line. If it was said in Fatima that God’s anger is great because of sin, and that the two World Wars and the spread of communism were a punishment, I fear what may follow because of what has been happening in the West over just the last 20 or so years: LGBT movements and gender ideology are present everywhere, from schools to television to government initiatives… pornography is everywhere, along with rising divorce rates, abortions, euthanasia, the abandonment of faith, and empty churches.
In my daily Bible reading this morning, Paul wrote to the Romans about the Jewish people--God's great love for them and the promises He will keep to them, even in their sinfulness and rejection of Christ. Paul said that God allowed the Jews to fall and reject His Son so that the Gentiles could be shown a great mercy and be brought into the fold. The Gentiles had rejected God for so long that God had to show a huge reason why His mercy should be extended to them...and that was that so few Jews would be saved initially that SOMEONE had to be saved, and it might as well be the Gentiles. Remember we (our Gentile ancestors) were the ones who were pagan and ignoring the true God while the Jews, as imperfect as they were, were trying to stay faithful to the true God for all those millennia leading up to Christ. We did not deserve to be saved by Christ. Paul told the Gentiles (us) that we should be so humbly grateful for our salvation, and be afraid lest we fall as the Jews did. For at any moment we could fall and lose our salvation. It is only by the grace of God that we can do anything good at all. And he said that we owe so much to the Jews, for their covenant with God that led to the Messiah coming to save us. He said that covenant is not broken--that God will still uphold His end, because He is faithful. When the Gentiles have reached the appointed number of saved souls, then the Jews will come to Christ and convert in great numbers, which will bring tremendous glory to God, who still loves them with a special love. His mercy will be glorified, in that just as we Gentiles were extended salvation though we didn't deserve it, the unfaithful Jews will be grafted back onto the vine. They were the roots and the original tree, and God allowed their branches to be broken off only to allow the Gentiles to be grafted on. When the Jews are grafted back onto their own tree, it will be all the more glorious. God's great mercy and love will be shown to all. Reading that this morning brought tears to my eyes, because the Jews ARE still beloved by God, and we should not be so quick to condemn them and shame them for their apparent wickedness. We should be more careful, because any one of us, should God withdraw His grace, could be far more wicked than the worst Jew. So it's amazing to me to see your post. I believe the Holy Spirit spoke to both of us today. The devil hates the Jews, because He knows the glory they will bring to God, and he hates us Christians as well. It is only the devil who would want us hating each other and blaming the other for all the evils in the world. We shouldn't fall for it. We should pray for God's mercy to soon be revealed to all.
So interesting. I have been so comforted in reading about Ruth in the Old Testament. She was a gentile and married Boaz a Jew. Their offspring was King David who is of the ancestry of Jesus. Jesus was all of us, Jew and Gentile. Jesus’ blood type is universal. I have an Aunt Ruth, Irish, who married a Russian Jew. In doing my ancestry DNA even though I am 85% Irish I have a mix of other genes including Jewish. I find it comforting to know Jesus came for everyone to save everyone. To be Chosen is to be Called and answer the call. To be a child of God. Not all Jews have answered the call, not all gentiles have answered the call. It works both ways, God chooses us, we choose him. Really kind of simple but people try to complicate it.
This has very much been in my mind even in my little corner of the world. This past winter was a perfect example. What a weekly yo-yo!! We'll see what summer brings.
Similarly, any one of us can choose to walk away. We know way too many family that have or are cafeteria catholics.
Yes, unbelievable flooding in the northern Midwest states, contrasted by droughts and fire warnings in the south (US)
Agreed, rivers & creeks in my area have been flooded for a couple weeks. That includes the Grand River here in Grand rapids.
Nothing new. We just went through Exodus before Easter. When God was giving Moses the Ten Commandments they were worshipping the golden calf. Duh!
They had two good kings after David. They killed virtually every prophet and eventually the God-man. I mean, not every Jew fails but collectively it's something of a pattern.
I'm pretty sure it's humanity's pattern. Don't forget that the Gentiles were descended from the rest of the world besides Abraham, who was basically the only decent, God-fearing man in existence at the time. There's a reason the Jews were God's chosen people...because they descended from a man who was willing to offer the life of his beloved son out of love for God.
