I think you are wrong here Padraig.
My answer was very specific and exact as is Charlie's prophesy but we can ask him.
Very specifically he says that Obama will not complete this term and that Trump will not take up Office. There is no question of waiting 4 years. The critical date is inauguration day. By then we will see if Charlie's words are true.
I am not picking a fight with you Padraig.

I figure today, tomorrow and the day after I will get a lot of questions on the election. Some are newbies who honestly don’t know what I have said about it. Others are samplers of the site who have mixed in what I have said with things that others errantly say I have said. Still others are just trolls. It can be hard to tell the difference sometimes – and I can get crabby about answering the same thing over and over again. So I write this quick summary with links to old articles so I can just cite this piece.

What I was told eight and a half years ago was that Obama would be elected president, he would lead us into the Storm, would not finish his full term – and would live to repent and convert long after he had left the world in ashes. I was told that our next national leader would NOT come from the political system. Many people (including me sometimes) have considered that the most likely way that would play out would be that there would be no election. But as I wrote last January in “Through a Glass Darkly,” that is not the only scenario that would fit that prophecy. The critical day is not election day, but inauguration day – on January 20, 2017.

Those who ask if I will declare myself a false prophet if the election proceeds Tuesday either are not actually aware of the specific language of the prophecy – or are just trying to foment mischief and confusion.

If, on January 20, Obama peacefully transfers power to either Trump or Clinton, I will declare myself unreliable and retire into silence, as I wrote in August in this piece. While I will enter into silence, I most certainly will not declare myself a false prophet. I have been right on the big sweep of things. But I will consider myself unreliable at a time when we need solid reliability.

In the end, the purpose of telling you these things had nothing to do with letting you know details of the progress of the Storm. The Storm would have come whether I was here or not. Rather, it was to give you confidence that I have told you true when I speak of the Rescue that will come late in 2017 – and to encourage you to be a participant in heralding that Rescue, to give you confidence in terrible times when you will really need it.

I happen to spend a lot of time at Charlie's site and am a believer in his mission and message. Joe, I'm so glad you posted the November 7th piece. It brings clarity. In addition to what you have noted, Joe, I think it's important to remember God is doing something new in the way He works through Charlie.

I've had the blessing to study Marian apparitions and messages for the last tweny-five years with some erudite clergy and laity in my locale and have made various pilgrimages to many Marian shrines. In most private revelation, we hear words conveyed from Jesus and Mary in a direct fashion. Of course, interpretation of the mystical language and images can be challenging, especially determining what is literal and what is figurative. For this alone, I am grateful to have studied with the experts in Mariology and mystical theology.

I'm convinced that Charlie has been saved for this leg of the journey as we enter the time when humanity will be intensely immersed in an effusion of purifying grace. In Charlie language: the Storm. Charlie's mission is one which doesn't dwell on details. Rather, he has focused on encouraging people to practice on his oft repeated message: Acknowledge God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope to those around you. When we are living through the complete collapse which he's described, it will be a message that serves people very well.

So, Joe, while you are absolutely correct about Charlie ascribing the phrase, "I have told you true." to the words which come directly from Archangel Gabriel and are conveyed to the public, I think it's important to keep in mind, he has had visitations from Our Lord and Our Lady as well as input from Archangel Gabriel which comprise his internal navigation system, guiding his ongoing writing, speaking and additional work.

I also think it important to note the significance of Archbishop Aquila from the Denver Archdiocese making a decision after the initial phase of investigation to tell Charlie he may continue with his writing and speaking work. Had there been a wisp of questionable material - and the three member priest panel had full access to all the written material recorded about Charlie's mystical experiences as well as access to the three spiritual directors Charlie has submitted to - again, had there been the least bit problem, there would have been many more restrictions placed on him. Most likely, he would have been deemed inauthentic. The only restriction was that he not be allowed to speak in the Archdiocese of Denver. That was wisdom on the part of the Archbishop for it might seemed to have given tacit approval to the private revelation aspect of Charlie's mission. As most know, that kind of study is conducted most often AFTER the visitations are completed.

Even before January 20th, people may wish to be alert for a possible Jericho March on Washington DC. Charlie says his hiking boots are ready. During a visitation from Our Lord in May, Charlie was asked to do this March (similar to the Jericho Walk in the scriptures) when given the sign to go forth.

All this being said, I have noticed Charlie is both prophet and servant of the Lord. I sense he knows so much more than he is conveying at this point. At the same time, he knows God has every dimension of this final confrontation in His Hands - dimensions far beyond anything He's ever shared with Charlie or anyone else for that matter. (Did the Lord ever gather the Apostles around Him to fill them in on all the details of what would happen as He went into Jerusalem for His Passion, Death and Resurrection? Of course not. They, too, had to choose trust and faith in their Master and His Promises, even though those Promises were stated in terms which surpised the Apostles as they unfolded.) Charlie knows he's not directing God. In all of our minds we can ponder: What will come to fruition in the ways we think? What will be mitigated due to the response of God's people? What surprises will our God of Infinite Imagination bring forth? His ultimate goal: to save as many souls as possible.

Authentic prophecy is always an invitation from God. It is an invitation to remember His goodness in times past, to see His mercies in times present, to come back to Him with our whole heart, and to call others to do the same. It is guidance on how to act in particular times and circumstances to accomplish this. It is assurance that He is there, that He loves us, that He wants us back, and that He will walk with us if we heed Him. It is an invitation first to the one called to prophesy, and then to all who will hear. It is an invitation to come to God and participate with Him in His gathering of His children. The most important part of prophecy is its call for what we should do.

It is a great achievement of the devil that he has seduced so many into reducing prophecy to fortune-telling, a sort of mystical mystery theatre in which most act as passive spectators, choosing the character on-stage who best appeals to their interests, beliefs and vanity – then sitting back and enjoying the show. God calls you to act, to act with Him, to act selflessly to rescue His children from despair and disorder. If the emphasis of any mystic is on what will happen rather than what you are called to, it is a diversion, not prophecy. Authentic prophecy is active, requiring you to stretch out your heart and your mind to God and to stretch out your hand in solidarity with your fellows. It is not passive.

Many seem to think interpretation of prophecy is simply getting the narrative right, then charting it two-dimensionally. The foolishness of this reminds me of the ancient fable of the six blind men and the elephant. The Book of Revelation is fascinating for many reasons, not least of which that it presents the closest thing to a raw telling of what the mystic actually is shown than anything I have ever seen. Oh, there is plenty of interpretation in it to make it somewhat comprehensible to us, but St. John gives us a good look at much of the raw material he was working with. Revelation has been seriously studied by thousands of great saints and theologians – and there are almost as many variations in interpretation as there are people who have studied it seriously. There is a general consensus on some larger themes in it (though even here some things are hotly disputed) but there are huge disputes on the meaning of many of the details.

Now, as then, a glimpse into eternity does not produce a neat, little, linear narrative. If it were so, I would not have spent a lifetime being instructed. I have told you I spent nearly two decades getting much wrong when I was instructed by my angel. I think you know that, in earthly terms, I am a pretty smart fellow. If it was as simple as studying a linear narrative, I would not have needed five decades of instruction and testing. So, with a caveat that I cannot describe it with precision unless I made up a whole new vocabulary, let me tell you a little about how it actually is.

I gave you a hint of it in my piece, “Into the Whirlwind.” I described the cosmos, in part, in these words:

“Imagine that God showed Job our world, sparkling blue and green like some impossibly rare and precious gem, glittering with life and light. Then God shows Job the entire universe. Think of Job’s wonder at the billions of stars, comets, quarks and planets all pulsing and whirring, a symphony of light and rhythm…”

When you are shown, when you get a glimpse into eternity, it is like that. Trillions of parts all pulsing and whirling, traveling at different speeds and directions, often changing speeds and directions. It is like a three-year-old trying to make sense of the working of a nuclear reactor. At the most elementary level, you try to discern the convergence point of several different elements. It is a game that appeals to your vanity – kind of like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube writ large. Except it is impossible. Things change speeds and direction regularly. After a while, if you are wise, you largely drop that effort and focus on patterns that emerge. While you can’t discern all – or even many – of the details, you can see the larger trends they form.

There are several complications even in this. First, some things are symbolic and some are literal – and it can be difficult to recognize the difference. Some things can’t be changed; others are changed dramatically by our response. It is similar to a cruise liner sinking in the open ocean. Once it reaches a certain point in its distress it is certain to sink. It is almost certain that some people will die. How many will die, though, depends on the behavior of those caught in the catastrophe. If everyone is in panic and acting in an “every man for himself” way, many will die. If many are steady and resolute, they can help others do the same and many lives will be saved.

Meantime, there is a huge disconnect between how things appear here and how they appear there. We come up with clever schemes we think will solve problems – and most don’t even make a dent in the heavens. The sincere and humble prayer of a single person can change multitudes. When you get a cohort of people praying – and living the prayer of doing, of denying their own appetites and caring for those around them tenderly, it can change the trajectories of entire realms of those moving parts. If you knew the power of sincere, humble prayer and doing the little right in front of you, you would eagerly live it well. The machinations of those in power are mere sparklers in comparison to the majestic, tidal power of a single sincere and humble prayer.

Obviously, I explain this allegorically to you. I do it to give you some sense of what it is like, not what it is. Applied to current times, the Storm is something that is set, it must be fulfilled. But the intensity and duration of it can change based on our response. Some things about it have already changed. The intensity was increased by our determination to persist in rebellion; the duration of its fullness has been decreased because of the rise, often quietly, of renewed faith and fidelity among many who have already despaired of hope in human devices. There are far more troops out there ready to answer the call. Even in the midst of the Storm, we have entered into a great Christian revival. What God intends is that you live it and bring the hope that is in Him to those around you. If you do that well, it will spread like wildfire. It is not sufficient that you be right, but that you be effective, which means you must bury your ego. If you simply browbeat those around you, so they run away from the faith, you have utterly failed. If you never defend the faith when it is assaulted, you have utterly failed.

I am very careful in dealing with my critics. If they seem animated by a restless malice – or a vanity to prove themselves right – I largely ignore them. If they are serious, perhaps pointed, but showing no signs of malice or vanity, I try to answer them well – sometimes provocatively, sometimes gently. Many of my honorable critics have helped refine my thinking. But the key reason is that I am not sent primarily to say, but to do: to give heart to people, assurance that God is right at hand to them, in the midst of a great crisis in world and salvation history that they may endure until rescue. I am responsible for doing that for my critics, as well, insofar as it can be done, as for everyone else. So I largely refrain that their malice or vanity does not fossilize around them – and when they see God act, they may take firm hold of Him, whatever they think of me.

When I hear purported private revelations, there are certain things I watch for. Does it sound primarily like a running commentary on current events? While authentic prophecy does touch on some current events, its focus is always on the eternal and what our response to it should be. So if it sounds like a radio talk show, it may have value, but it is not prophecy. Does it have heavenly beings profusely condemning various people or peoples? In my entire life, I have never heard Our Lord or Our Lady speak in bitter condemnatory tones about anyone. I have only heard the angels speak with contempt for one person, one time. Often, they condemn sin, but there is a yearning sorrow, almost a lament at times, for their poor lost children The focus is always calling the children of the Kingdom back, not casting them into outer darkness.

The Rescue, late in 2017, is one of those things that is certain. I get nervous about it sometimes because I have frequently been wrong about times – but this is one of the incredibly rare occasion where I was told that, specifically, rather than the enigmatic “soon” or “now.” But I am constantly examining and re-examining those matters which are interpretation, for it pleases God to show me, too, how little I understand. Until my spinal event in 2003, I always assumed I would be in excellent, robust health throughout the Storm. It seemed a good interpretation because I could not see how anyone could do the things I was called to without such health. But it pleased God to show me that He writes straight with crooked lines – and that my robust health was not necessary to accomplish His purposes. I assumed too much. It is why I am grateful for my little disability, often calling it “God’s leash.” It reminded me that God is not at all dependent on me, but I on Him.

I constantly go back to what I call “first things,” what I was told specifically or the larger, immutable principles that have been embedded in me, to re-examine my interpretations. I have often said there will be no presidential election this year. Actually, there are some narrow circumstances in which there could be, but the results would be irrelevant. What I was told was that President Obama would not finish his term and that our next stable national leader will not come from the election process. You could have an explosion of events after an election and before an inauguration. You could have Obama declare a national emergency, cancel elections, extend his term and then depart before the extension was up. The most likely scenario is that everything will be up in the air before election, but there are narrow circumstances where that may not be.

I knew that the fullness of the Storm could have begun as early as the summer of 2012. I was grateful that it did not. But I thought, along with many of my critics, that with all that had to happen, we really did need to enter into the fullness by mid-2014. I somewhat nervously was telling the Lord that I knew He knew best, but didn’t we need to get a move on? After enough of this, He appeared to me and simply said, “When I act, it is done.” It was a reminder to me that, even with all the instruction, I was thinking of these things and time in the way men do, that He is not subject to such limitations. I have since come to see what a grace the delay is. If anti-Christian governments had wanted to assume emergency powers, the fall of 2014 was about the last time they had a reasonable chance of imposing it and making it stick for more than a few weeks. Since then, their real power has been ebbing away even as they act more arbitrarily and oppressively. Their very oppressive and harassing actions have sapped the fundamental consent of their citizens.

The key to everything in these times, after five decades of instruction, is not in the grandiose, but the simple. Acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you. That is wisdom that will last and will not fail. Live this well and you are already part of the Rescue.

I want to finish with a meditation which originally appeared as a comment here. It was written by YongDuk, the pseudonym an American Catholic Bishop uses to comment with. I often hear people explain to me the meaning of various Biblical prophecy and private revelations. They give me their complex explanations for the two-dimensional linear narrative they have come up with. I usually listen politely but know that, like early Job, they have not entered into the whirlwind and have no clue that the things they speak of are too big for us – and not subject to linear narratives. Whatever YongDuk’s intention was with this piece, I recognized it as one of the best meditations on prophecy I have read.

 

Actually, Joe, I get the impression Archangel Gabriel continues to be with Charlie constantly. As Charlie describes it, Gabriel has been like his big brother his whole life long.

Once again thank you Wee One. I was not aware of this constant companionship. A very moving revelation.

 

Correct my reasoning here if I'm not including something:

So wouldn't that mean that Obama wouldn't finish that specific first term from 2008? There would have to be another election and then another prediction about Obama being re-elected and another prophecy about this second term to have what is going on now with Obama included in what Charlie was allegedly told at that time, eight and a half years ago. If I remember as well, if the storm includes our economy and any escalating military involvement, or natural forces with their own major destruction, well, Bush certainly could have been the candidate listed as to leading us into, at least the beginning of said "Storm". There has to be an awful lot of equivocating in these more "vague" prophecies to the degree that I've not seen even with those, as yet unapproved, but still who are more specific. Being a "hail fellow well met" is a draw for anyone but having appearances all organized by loyal and trusting followers, along with meals, lodging, transportation all the while certain places designated by dioceses being off limits can commit people to a degree that can be hard to detach from, if necessary, in the future.

Such a "Storm" which has to be settled by a "Rescue" is a bit more vague than, say, what came from seers at Garabandal or even St. Faustina, where a real experience like never before of having all people see themselves as God sees them and reset the conscience of the world is predicted which btw, Charlie goes to the length of even advising those who follow such seers not to necessarily go for since these, as well as "most" mystics of the past, just didn't quite understand what they were shown or given.....so don't expect anything that "huge".....God just doesn't act that way. Well, one thing for sure, you can't say Charlie isn't gifted with at least chutzpah!

 

Not wanting to flog a dead horse here people but not one person has given us a list of the big sweep of things purportedly foretold by Charlie that has come to pass. Surely this should not be difficult
I am not out to pillory the man in fact like most of you I like his style, wit and good nature.

That asisde however there is some serious business to address. If he is a prophet sent by God for these times just what are his prophecies to date that have come to pass.

Pope Francis's clanger: perhaps his pontificate to date is this the meaning of that vague prophecy.

I just wish to clarify that this post of mine does not mean that I am dismissing Mr Johnston. I just wished to critique the thread title. I have always found Mr Johnston a good man and while I have always made it clear in my comments here that I was a fence-sitter, I am not going to give up on him or otherwise until things are abundantly clear. In other words, the inauguration or whatever happens. I think he deserves that.

Before looking at the broad sweep of where we are and what is to come, it’s important to note the significance of the decision made by Charlie’s local ordinary, Archbishop Aquila of the Archdiocese of Denver, which was released in March of this year.

The commission had access to the archives of his mystical experiences as well as the opportunity to consult with Charlie's three spiritual directors. Instead, Archbishop Aquila informed Charlie that he was to continue with his writing as well as continue with his speaking tours. The Archbishop wisely cautioned the faithful to refrain from over-emphasizing the prophetic messages. Further, Charlie is not allowed to speak on Church property in the Archdiocese of Denver. This, too, is wisdom.

Charlie has not yet had an investigative study which would determine a status as described by the norms for evaluating private revelation which come from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith at the Vatican. Therefore, allowing him to speak on Church property in the Denver Archdiocese could well look as though Charlie's mystical experiences were already officially approved as authentic. That evaluation is yet to be done. Usually, a bishop waits to make that kind of decision *after* someone’s mystical experiences come to conclusion.

Again and again, Charlie has proclaimed prophecy is not merely comprised of allowing one to be privy to details in the Mind of God. Rather, its purpose is that of God reaching out to His people to call them back to the Covenant from which His children have so far drifted. In Charlie’s life, it is Archangel Gabriel who has been his main visitor since childhood. This is remarkable, for St. Gabriel has been sent to earth when matters of great significance related to salvation are being conveyed to God's people.

The Overview
Here now is an overview of what Charlie indicates is to come, in broad strokes as we understand them.

1. The current state we are in: We are living what Charlie foretold, a worldwide civil war being waged on cultural and societal norms which he has called “the Storm.” It began in 2009, is continually intensifying and will include a complete collapse so that life, as we know it, will be totally altered. The Old System is dying. Everything will soon come down, including our infrastructure.

2. Since the inception of Charlie’s website, he has fostered a life-giving message: Acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you. It is reiterated again and again on his website, for it is the way in which each of us can best proceed, cope and thrive, both now and through the most difficult days of the Storm yet to come.

3. The complete collapse will bring a period of chaos. Exactly how long this period will last is in God’s Knowledge. He alone knows the details and timelines, all safely and securely held in His Divine Providence.

We do know this will be a tough phase. We will experience a worldwide economic collapse. Even now, economic experts have been sounding the alarm of the increasingly tenuous state of the worldwide economy. The American political system is imploding before our eyes. God has a new way of governing coming in our future, since we’ll need some sort of system as a society. Charlie has advised that we wait on the Lord to guide us in His new way for us. Certainly, it will be developed with God’s Law as the undergirding focus of our hearts.

4. While Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential race, Charlie has conveyed there will not be a smooth transfer of power from our current President Obama to President-elect Trump. Further, Charlie has been asked by the Lord to develop a plan for a Regency period, a transitional time which ensues after the old order has completely died and before we embark with God on our new way of governing.

5. Through all these difficult events, people will be spiritually awakened and, we pray, as many souls as possible will choose to turn back to God. For all of us, clergy and laity alike, ample opportunities will be open to help others spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, in every way possible. So important to remember is that *God* isn't doing this to us. WE have brought this mess into our lives via all the ways we have turned our backs on Him and left Him out of our lives. WE have broken His Covenant with us. He *does* have a Plan to bring us back and give us another chance… this time to rebuild with HIM at the center of our rebuilding.

6. After the wildly chaotic time is over and rebuild begins, the west will unite with Russia and, together, will confront Islam. Charlie has stated that once this confrontation is engaged, Islam will be shattered with mass conversions through the intercession of Our Lady. Even now, conversions are underway via visions of Jesus and Mary.

7. We will then face an even greater challenge: a formidable confrontation with China, a tool of the satan. We will strive mightily yet we will not prevail.

8. Charlie has been told by Archangel Gabriel that Blessed Mother will Rescue us from our struggle with China. Near the end of next year, 2017, Our Lady the Immaculate Conception, miraculously and visible to all, will intervene to Rescue us.

After the Rescue, we will have a considerable amount of work to do as we continue to clean up the damage caused by the Storm. It seems the Regent will remain for several months into 2018 to help do this. In mid-2018, the Regent will retire as the sovereignty and government will have then been returned to the people of the United States. At that time, the government will again become the responsibility of the people. Charlie has often said we will not live in heaven until we reach heaven. Instead, in our ordinary lives with hearts renewed, we will love and serve the Lord and others. The main message which Charlie has promoted will readily serve us and our neighbors as we continue to: Acknowledge God, take next right steps, and be a sign of hope to those around us.

Several people at different sites have pondered whether I erred in saying that the Christmas of 2013 would be our last traditional Christmas until the Storm ended. I consider it to be so, but I was going to say it would not at all offend me if anyone regarded it as an objective error. I was firmly rebuked on the matter, though, for I was reminded that a part of my work is to get people to see a little more from the perspective of eternity rather than the perspective of this world.

We are so self-absorbed that we usually do not concede there is a problem until it shows up right on our doorstep. The familiar prose poem from World War II at the top illustrates this. Tyranny and trouble did not begin when they came for the narrator; it began when they came for the first group and all who were directly unaffected did nothing. When evil rises and you deceive yourself that all is well unless they come for you, you are well deceived. Evil does not stop until it is stopped.

Across wide swaths of the Middle East and Southeast Asia, Christians are being murdered en masse, children beheaded and crucified, people burned alive. In much of the west, people are being fired or forced out of business if they won’t swear fealty to the “homosexual” agenda. In many countries of the west, reading verbatim passages from the Bible qualifies as hate speech. Some traditionally European Christian countries have ceded swaths of their territory to brutal sharia law. This last year, anti-Christian activists in America targeted such innocuous symbols of Christmas as candy canes and Santa Claus. In the American military, Christian chaplains and officers are under siege. The Federal Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) quietly acted last October to propose rules that would effectively end private outdoor Christmas lighting in America. The comment period just ended with few even knowing it was proposed. If it is not stopped, the bureaucrats will have established a rule whereby you can be fined and ordered to take down your outdoor Christmas decorations.

You may ask what could we do about such things. We once could have demanded that our nation stand up for the oppressed rather than for the oppressors. But now American government overseers care little about what the folksies think. We once could have tossed out politicians who constrained our freedom. But now unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats file regulations that carry the rule and penalties of law regardless of what we think. We were seduced by tyranny coming with the sweet promise of kindness and care as long as we gave away the power of free men and women to them first. We were chumps who cared more about our comfort than our faith or what was right. We won’t get western civilization back until a great crisis has been reached and passed…we have already let it slip away. Politics has become irrelevant and impotent, except as wielded by those who would further destroy faith and freedom – and then only to lead us closer to the abyss.

In America – and much of the west – Christians are treated with wary official intolerance and hostility by both the government and the culture. The American Dept. of Homeland Security lists Christian “fundamentalists” as potentially dangerous terrorists, while dismissing fears about Jihadists. I have two police officers in my family. American police are now having to carefully choose where they will park, taking care that their site-lines are unimpeded so as to avoid ambush. They are having to rethink how to answer calls, so as not to be pulled into an ambush. They are pulling down their pages on social media so as to protect their families from targeting. The Mayor of the largest city in the country and the President and Attorney General, as well as the establishment media, all encourage and make excuses for those who target the police. Everyone who still believes and lives traditional western and American values is under siege today – not tomorrow, not later, but today. The government and the culture have gotten so big and unresponsive that it seems there is little you can do. To formally complain is more likely to get you on an enemies list than to enact change. Our governments and the media have become an occupying power with values alien to most who just want to live in peace – and hostile to any hint of faith or traditionalism. In the Newspeak that is current, tolerance demands rigidly enforced conformity to what the elite occupiers want.

So what can you do? You can withdraw your allegiance to the government and culture that surround you – and do it in support of your nation. Every community has an organizing principle. It is our fault that, for several generations, we have progressively built that principle around an overweening government and the television set. It does not have to be so. Build your community around your neighbors and your church. Ignore the government, except where it coerces you (admittedly, in many areas). Support your local police. They will be your bulwark if, in its panic, the central government tries to impose Martial Law to quell the crises it has created. I often suspect that is precisely why local police are being so relentlessly vilified by top officials and the media – they know local police will not turn on their neighbors in obeisance to a federal order – so the feds try to create a wedge now between the people and those best poised to defend us.

The federal government is making many mistakes in its efforts to stamp out Christian and traditional cultural practice. The vilification of police was one case. They knew what they were doing. They backed off a little when they got some blowback from the ambush murders of police in New York, Los Angeles and Florida…but not much. With every overreach they think they are getting more powerful and closer to being able to seize command authority. But with every overreach, the mask falls a little further and more people see what has been wrought. You can begin to form and offer allegiance to the smaller more intimate communities that will have to give us all succor as the central government succumbs to its madness and falls apart.

Do not be seduced by false dawns or false promises. I see many were enthused by the closure of a lot of abortion facilities in the last year. I sympathize with the enthusiasm, but it is not what it seems. What is happening is abortion is moving slowly away from the disreputable little clinics that were easy to identify and protest against – and going mainstream, moving into more and more hospitals at a vigorous pace. That was an intended effect of the Obamacare legislation. A few years ago, one of my closest friend’s daughters landed on a prestigious list of the 50 most promising medical students in the country. But she was a serious Catholic and had to consider moving to another field – for some proposed regulations associated with it would have required medical students to be trained in how to safely perform abortions before they could be licensed. The regulation eventually was softened to give some limited rights of conscience, but it was clear that the administration wanted to move abortion out of the abortuaries and into hospitals. Call your hospital and ask what “reproductive services” it offers. Do not be challenging…better to sound as if you may be seeking an abortion. If you call 10 hospitals, you will be shocked at how many are now offering “reproductive services” that include “termination of pregnancy.”

In World War II, the great majority of people never even had to leave their homes. Oh yes, a large minority was killed or displaced, but the majority only had to worry, without ever having the beast descend upon them. It was because of the human propensity to consider nothing really wrong so long as the beast is not in their living room that caused so many tens of millions of people to have to die in that conflagration.

Now, I pray and expect that whatever happens in the next two Christmases of the Storm, I will celebrate it with joy and gratitude. I even hope to have a place to keep warm and, maybe, a tree. But while Amnesty International elevated Christians to the single most persecuted people in the world this last year, while my government defines Christians and pro-lifers as potentially dangerous terrorists, while my government is in the process of trying to ban outdoor electrical Christmas displays, while Christians can be fined, fired, jailed or have their business seized for failing to be sufficiently enthusiastic about homosexual “marriage,” while the American military’s officer corps is being purged of soldiers who do not hide their faith sufficiently well, while you cannot get health insurance without financially subsidizing the execution of infants as a human right, while increasingly you cannot be sure the hospital you go to for treatment does not have a death chamber for infants down the hall, while swaths of the formerly Christian west are being ceded to the control of murderous Jihadist maniacs and their murderous sharia law, while the highest officials in the land are putting targets on the backs of the men and women charged with protecting their communities, I will NOT pretend that this is business as usual and a traditional Christmas.

If your definition requires the beast to be in your living room, by all means, count it as error on my part. I do not know if there will be anyone to speak for me when they come, but until they do I am going to keep speaking for those under siege rather than pretending that because I still have a warm bed, nothing serious is amiss.

When I studied the events leading up to World War II there came a time when I realized that, if the world had heeded Winston Churchill in the mid-30s, there would have been war and probably 200,000 would have died. Each year that they ridiculed him as an alarmist and warmonger, the price went up. In the end, good estimates have 86 million people dying in World War II. It was certainly the aggressors who caused those deaths, but they were enabled by millions and millions of people who insisted that, as long as the butchers were not at their door, nothing serious was wrong. In doing so, they enabled the butchers. What a horror.

I have been heartened this year by how many readers at this site have abandoned their fears, have set aside paralyzing doubt, and just started actively being a sign of hope to those around them. That IS the path to reclaiming and rebuilding our culture, simple as it sounds. I know, though, that at least a hint of my disquiet and anger comes through today, for many are still acting as if they are the audience at a particularly gripping drama, giving thumbs up or thumbs down at what pleases and displeases them. You are not the audience; you are the players. How it turns out is dependent on you. Given all that has happened in the last year, if you still believe our culture had a normal, traditional Christmas season because you were not deprived of your fireplace, tree or eggnog, then you will likely remain in denial until the barbarians really are at your door – and by that time you won’t be able to be a sign of hope to anyone.

You don’t need to believe anything about my visitations to see the signs of the times. Dismiss it all…but please, acknowledge God, take the next right step and be a sign of hope to those around you. If you will just do this, whatever happens, you will help rescue the world.

I have refrained from writing of late largely because I am trying to figure out how to convey the urgency that is already upon us. I’m stupid in many ways. It frankly surprised me that anyone would argue that this Christmas was culturally traditional in any sense. I am working to try to convey better what these things mean…but for heaven’s sake, if you have to have a smoldering meteor in your living room to think anything is really wrong at all, I don’t know how to get the message across. It truly is the last hour. And if somebody notes, an hour after this is posted, that we are all still here, I am going to scream.

May we all get up on our hind legs and behave like men and women of the Most High God, men and women who were chosen to be the signs of hope that would reclaim His people in these times. Remember that God chose you to live in these historic times. Stand your post and justify His confidence in you.
