Please pray for my mom and brother Shawn's living arrangements. They are not getting along and it is not a big place. In fact it is a 1 bedroom apartment. But Shawn needed a place to stay and my mom doesn't sleep in her bed anyway but on the couch because the bed reminds her of her broken marriage. Because she doesn't have the bedroom to herself for her stuff, her stuff is around the living room. Shawn's son gets into everything as he is in his terrible 2's. Arguments start between both my mom and my brother Shawn on how the place should be. Also Shawn wants to eventually get a house and have my mom move with him. No way my mom would be able to live long term with Shawn because his temper is bad and he is very opinionated (just like his mother is judgemental and picky). My mom is stubborn and doesn't want Shawn telling her that she will move with him and live in a house. My mom feels safer in an apartment because of the security and no one breaks in on her floor as it is not ground level. Also she doesn't have to maintain a garden or yardwork or repairs around the house if she stays in the apartment. Shawn remembers how my mom always missed living in a house (my dad kept the house and gave my mom no choice) and missed having a garden with all her flowers and trees. Shawn thought my mom would be happy with a house again. Shawn always wanted to give my mom everything. My mom now doesn't want to live in a house because at her age she is not up to the things she used to love to do. Shawn may never be able to afford a house but he hates apartment living and refuses to look for an apartment to live in but wants to buy a house. There are no rent to own places in my city. Please pray for their living situation in the meantime. I figure the best thing would be for Shawn to move out and leave my mom be but they also do not communicate the best. Shawn yells and gets angry and my mom shuts down and doesn't want to make Shawn angry. (Shawn is an angry man because how my dad treated him all his life). Shawn's temper is really bad and I wish he would get help. At least it is just words as he doesn't get violent physically but if you have ever been in a relationship with someone who is always angry and yelling you know it is not fun. Please pray for his temper to calm down or for him to get help and for his financial situation to balance out so that he CAN move out. At this point the mother of his 2nd child who is 2 is threatening to take him to court for support when he already pays all the time and goes out of his way for her. He was not aware that she dated men and got pregnant as a way to get more money out of men. The rest of the family had warned him but he "was lonely" and thought he was in love til she changed completely after the baby was born and started treating him like she treated her first son's father. Please also pray that this ex-girlfriend doesn't make Shawn never get out of debt. He is working so hard to fix his life because of his past mistakes. The only thing that could derail his plan and ruin things is this woman.
Sometimes praying is all we can do to help others. It is very important to also make sure that you take care of your own spiritual life so that you may lead others by your example. May God be with you always and I will keep you in my prayers.
Please Lord, let Shawn and his mom have peace and get along. May they both embrace the faith and delve deeper into it, spurred by the conflict. May they help each other rather than argue. In Jesus's Name.
