The more this idiot makes a fool of himself the better. This narcissist believes that we all admire him and thinks this lends him the authority to make judgements upon situations of which he has no clue. This abortionist needs to ask himself why nearly all the rioting is happening in areas controlled by the party of abortion in the US and why these 'progressives' have such a racism problem. Maybe it's the politicians like himself that lack moral leadership.
There is a new gay coming-of-age drama that got film of the week in the Irish Independent. Posted the link previously for a trailer on the Indo website but took it down because it also seems to be quite blasphemous. The peculiar obsession with all things homosexual in this country continues. More indoctrination and desensitization of our young it seems.
It's strange, had no real issue with gay people in this country before all this LGBT rights and SSM marriage stuff, but now can't stand them because of all the upset they've caused here over the last decade. Not to mention the usurpation of democratic process that we saw in 2015 when these laws were basically barged in using every form of tactic and vilification of those who opposed. As some have noted, any future referendum can now be won using a similar bullying process, unfortunately.
The excessive regard for homosexuals and their behaviour is no deeper than fashion, the latest way to demonstrate one's coolness. If this regard had any depth or sincerity, Big Gay would not feel the need to enforce compliance with a jackboot. I am old enough to remember the excessive hatred and prejudice commonly directed against those males with even a slight feminine predilection (they might have been totally heterosexual), again a very shallow mobbish fashion. This is quite likely to change again, when people get fed up of thinking sodomy cool (an attitude which is surely a stretch and difficult to maintain).
I have a nickname for him as 'publicity seeker'. He's all about photo ops and looking good himself which turn me off. He went to park with topless shirt even picnic was banned by his govt. He went ahead with few cans of beer with his pals and standing up to attract attention. NZ leader (she) was way better than him by setting example and openess instead of secrecy and economical with the truth. NZ and ireland have similar numbers in terms of population but NZ only 28 deaths in comparison to Ireland 1,300 deaths. He's using cov19 in order to stay in power even with less seats than the biggest party with more seats. Now he is pushing a lot faster re opening up as he prepare for 2nd GE. But I won't be voting for his party.
That whiney voice is very irritating. It carries zero authority. I don't know if he has the power to call another General Election. Would he not require the consent of the other parties who might be quite content to leave him holding the poisoned chalice of economic catastrophe that has now landed on his lap? He handed over absolute power to the HSE, the most inefficient, money-wasting institution of the state and it unsurprisingly took them mere weeks to ruin our economy. Questions need to be asked about this relationship between a Taoiseach who happens to be a medical doctor and the organisation he formerly worked with. He is trying to gain credit for easing the tyranny that he, without mandate, imposed on us. I would think that the other parties will be very keen to see him take responsibility for the destructive economic consequences of his policies. I take comfort in the old saying that 'eaten bread is soon forgotten'.
Was talking to someone on the phone recently, they asked me what I was doing. I said I was reading the Irish Constitution, to which they replied "Oh, you're a fan of Gemma O'Doherty are you?" I said" No, I just want to read it". It's very sad that to even read the Constitution now, which acknowledge our most fundamental rights and protections, people deem you to be some form of lunatic.
I was thinking the same myself. Where does this morality he talks of come from. He's not a believer in God so with no reference point for morality it is just fashion or this years flavour. He and his party re-defined thou shalt not kill, to exclude the unborn. The fruits of their morality unfolds in the operation theatres of Irelands maternity hospitals. I can do without that moral leadership.
Same here Sanctus. Exactly the same. We have an element in this country that hate the US Constitution.
It is an interesting video. I agree with much of what they say but I don't believe that the Garda have it in for John Waters or Gemma Doherty. (I had never heard of Gemma Doherty until someone posted a video of her on the forum.) I was never much of a fan of John Waters but I do hope that he wins his case in the higher court.
Going by the media, they seem to be playing the race card here in Ireland now and more divide and conquer identity politics, implying that the Irish have "white privilege" and are perpetrators of racism. Irish people were never considered as white, in fact we have a very long history of being suppressed and persecuted ourselves. It's interesting how the left always try and adopt the US political/social narrative and supplant it here. No doubt that they will use the BLM cause to introduce the Orwellian hate speech laws that were being proposed here recently. Also, protests seem to have got rid of the Covid hysteria and fears about social distancing etc. pretty quickly.
I was listening to Mass from Lurgan, Co Armagh this morning -- in the sermon the priest started to spout about the 'virus of racism' so thankfully I could put him on Mute. No word about the virus of sin in our world that is causing all of the problems.
It seems to me that globalisation is all about divisiveness - categorising groups of people and pitting them against each other. I don't believe that it comes only from "the left" whatever that means these days. There's nothing "left" about the 1% who own and control news and communications media, finance and industry - the same 1% who fund and set the agenda of the grievance lobbies aimed at taking down "the system". They never tell us what they have in mind to replace "the system". Presumably it will be controlled by the same 1% with key roles being assigned to the leaders of these grievance lobbies.
Identity politics is an anti-Gospel -- Galatians 3:28 For there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Saint John Paul 2 said we were entering into the time of the "Gospel and the Anti- Gospel, Christ and the Anti- Christ. "
Yes, and it seems to me that globalisation is a distortion of the Gospel. We are being manipulated into factions all in the name of equality, and if the law (aka the system) doesn't facilitate the manipulation, the law/system must go. Justice can't be blind if due process and presumption of innocence depend on which category the accused fits into. Going forward, we all will need to be a member of one of the protected categories if we're to have any hope of living in peace.
We found a Holy Mass at 9 am yesterday and today in a Church called Our Lady Help of Christians in Navan Road, Dublin. And I found it to be a beautiful Holy Mass in the modern rite. It is the Priest saying the Mass, so simple followed by the Novena to Saint Anthony, ready for Saturday 13th June. The sermon was spot on too. It has done my heart good. Of course there are other beautiful services, but this one stole my heart.
That's probably where we're headed now that our betters have decided that some humans are more human than others - the more human will be protected and the less human can be disposed of humanely. Best get on the animal rights bandwagon because they'll be the ones re-defining the meaning of "humane".
