Really beginning to miss the Holy Eucharist now at this stage, I'm sure everyone else here feels the same... It's like a form of spiritual starvation we've been put through. Padre Pio was reported to have gone into a coma once when he was denied Holy Communion by his superiors for a period of time. Church services are supposed to be recommencing on the 29th of this month, thankfully.
I'm so glad Sanctus. I went back for the first time today and it was like coming out of an arid waste to a beautiful oasis. To receive Our Lord again....words cannot express it.
Disturbing to say the least. The category who this lockdown was meant to protect were those most abandoned:
Don't think Padre pio ever went into coma cos I haven't seen it anywhere in books on Padre pio. I recall that he went without food for 21 days as he received HC. He ate little food all his life as he remained healthy as ever.
I was feeling like a weight of sins heaped on me re no confessions, no mass, not been in church since 2nd week of March. Online mass isn't the same as attending Mass inside the church. That's how I felt when comparing between online mass and live mass present. That's the difference.
Services are recommencing on the 29th of this month. However there will be ridiculous restrictions, such as the Priest having to wear a mask when giving out Holy Communion and Communion on the hand only.
The restrictions are hard. I want normal again but the world is crazy so we comply. Sitting in the pew is a lot better than sitting on your couch. You will love it when you go back. You get to actually sit in your church and worship. irishguy is correct, watching it on tv is subpar to being in church. Hopefully the restrictions will get less and less. I teared up the first time I went back . It irritates me the masks and social distancing but I will gladly do it for Jesus. I won't stand in line to get in a store but I will stand in line for Jesus. You will be filled with joy when you go back even with the restrictions. Praying!
Whatever force(s) is at work in this country at the moment it can feel very oppressive at times, almost like a crushing of the spirit. There definitely seems to be an element of social engineering going on too re media, RTE etc. Not too sure of what to make of the whole thing at this stage or what to trust.
I can't recall the date Holy Eucharist resumed in my area (near El Paso, Texas) ... but this morning I went, and I definitely felt an oppressive spirit. A pleasant dream had suddenly changed into an unpleasant dream of frustration and resentment. I nearly did NOT go to Mass for feeling grouchy, but decided that I should -- must. Honestly? I haven't prayed that hard, focused, and so well EVER (15 minutes prior to start). But yeah, I hear you from here.
I think it was Father Gabriele Amorth who spoke about something called "indirect oppression". In other words, decisions made by others (governments etc.) that cause us to be oppressed. I was also doing OK today but was suddenly hit by something that I read on MS media.
Divide and conquer is nothing new. By creating a Hobbesian 'war of all against all', everybody bar the victors gets conquered.
I went into the church today first time since 2nd week of March. It was practically empty with social distancing seats there. Also holy water bowl was stripped off each side at church entrance inside door. I felt lifeless spirit inside church with slight bit of heaviness hanging on. But it was good to see church open today with limited hours along with hand sanister provided.
Seems Leo has been quoting movies in his speeches. He has already quoted Lord of the Rings, The Terminator and the latest one is Mean Girls. Fine Gael seem to be getting some sort of perverse thrill out of all of this misery they are inflicting on people with unnecessary lockdown, social distancing etc.
I don't watch him in his speeches and ignored or switched over to other tv channels whenever he came on TV. His advisor is Concannon as he loved terminator TV etc. Hence his speech writer and also social media advisor. His party FG is a pro Brit. I just pray and hope that GP will decide against his party pfg deal next Friday. Postal ballot ongoing due to coronavirus.
A few people I have spoken to over the past while genuinely believe that Communism is being imposed on us. The Cultural Marxism we saw being introduced in the last decade was hardly for nothing, it will inevitably be followed by economic Marxism and totalitarianism. The Cultural Marxist aspect of the last decade was merely a softening up for what is to come. Seems like we have been turned into a soulless, lifeless, amoral country very quickly.
'Hitler' Holohan is a very model of a commissar. No mandate, not elected onto so much as a udc and eager and willing to tell everyone how to live their private lives. And 'we're all in this together' is pure Kim Il Sung. At this stage they are actually killing people to protect them from the small risk that is corona. Missed and delayed diagnoses, mental illness and suicide, ruined family businesses (as the corporates clean up), this seems nothing less than a war on the citizenry and many are convinced it is all for their own good. People have become so afraid of death, they are becoming afraid to live.
