I realize certain people are vulnerable but I'd love to get it and move past it at this point. I'm not afraid of it and am pretty sure most will need to get it to get herd immunity. It's not going away till that time.
Actually not novel. I know of a woman who was making the masks that way—I can’t even imagine THAT one!
I will pray for Andy. Take heart Indy. Jesus told us we would have troubles in this world but to be of good cheer for He has overcome the world. I believe this. And I believe He is detaching us bit by bit to what the world offers. We are beginning to deeply long for the coming of His kingdom. I have never felt so much an alien in the world as I do now. A stranger in a strange land.
Time of huge confusion. They say that the Eocnomic depression coming will be worse than that of the 1930's. Lord have mercy.
I am a nurse for 40 years. At this point I view wearing a mask akin to good handwashing practices. It's just smart and protects you. I have read countless articles of people who refused to wear masks and they succumb to the virus. I'm not willing to take that risk. Especially because I am currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatments. I hate the mask but I see it as lifesaving perhaps right now. Like Therese....I will do small things to get to heaven. This sacrifice is one of them...
I think the same way you do. I had a televisit yesterday and the doctor was wearing double masks even within the practice. Prayers for you to come through, Donna.
New York is going "down the tubes"! Massive Surge In Crime With Ongoing Riots And Looting Causing New Yorkers To Flee The City In Droves By Mike LaChance Published August 12, 2020 Under Mayor Bill de Blasio’s awful leadership, New York City is becoming a ghost town. The Coronavirus lockdowns were bad, but things really began to fall apart with the rioting and looting, which de Blasio allowed to continue without enforcing law and order. People paying massive rents and high taxes started to wonder why they were living there. Now they are fleeing the city in droves. The New York Post reports: New Yorkers keep moving out of the city to suburbs, other states The move is on — to leave New York City. The exodus that began at the start of the coronavirus outbreak, with many New Yorkers departing to their beach and country homes, has continued unabated as more leave for good, according to city moving companies overwhelmed by the avalanche of ex-pats. “People are fleeing the city in droves,” says Moon Salahie, owner of Elite Moving & Storing in Yonkers, who has been working nonstop since the city began Phase 1 of its reopening in June. Salahie said 90 percent of the moves are to the suburbs and mostly families with kids worried about the school year. He’s packed people out of neighborhoods all over Manhattan. “The least movement would be the Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue crowds,” he said. “Those people don’t have to leave because they have second homes.” The FOX Business Network has more: A mad rush for the exits as New York City goes down the tubes It’s not just a few Upper West Siders who are fleeing New York: Moving companies say they’re swamped with calls from residents looking to ditch the city — even though the COVID crisis has waned. One likely reason: The virus was but the last straw; New Yorkers are fed up with the shootings and lootings, homelessness on the streets, sub-par online schools, sky-high taxes and the sheer obliviousness of pols like Mayor Bill de Blasio and Gov. Andrew Cuomo… Meanwhile, Fox Business reports that moving companies are seeing a continuing surge in citywide business that began soon after the COVID outbreak. And while many of those fleeing may come from Manhattan, the trend is surely not confined to the Upper West Side. It’s been “insanely busy,” Roadway Moving President Ross Sapir told Fox. Indeed, he says this has been the busiest summer ever for the company. “For the last three months, we couldn’t keep up with demand.” This is going to set off a domino effect. It will shrink the city’s tax base, making things worse. Then even more people will leave. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...looting-causing-new-yorkers-flee-city-droves/
Up here in Northern New England the housing market is so hot there is NO inventory. Mostly our of states buying sight unseen! Lots of NY and NJ and Conn. Some Michigan. Curious.
They are fleeing Cali and coming here as well. The Dem cesspools are emptying. Bad part of this is they can politically change where they are fleeing to. Arizona ia staunchly red but if too many from Cali settle here it could go another way. Why continue to vote for policies that made you flee ? No logic.
No logic at all. They bring their bad philosophy with them. Isnt the definition of insanity repeating a destructive behavior over and over hoping for a different result?
https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/d...e-coronavirus-vaccine-there-is-no-alternative August 11, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – A coronavirus vaccine should be mandatory, and tax penalties, higher insurance premiums, and denial of many government and private services ought to be considered for those refusing the shot, three doctors argued in USA Today on Thursday. “[W]hile the measures that will be necessary to defeat the coronavirus will seem draconian, even anti-American to some, we believe that there is no alternative. Simply put, getting vaccinated is going to be our patriotic duty,” wrote Drs. Michael Lederman, Maxwell J. Mehlman, and Stuart Youngner. There is no “alternative to vaccine-induced herd immunity in a pandemic,” they argued. “Broad induction of immunity in the population by immunization will be necessary to end this pandemic.” The USA Today article, published August 6, is titled “Defeat COVID-19 by requiring vaccination for all. It's not un-American, it's patriotic.” Its original subhead (see screenshot below) read, “Make vaccines free, don't allow religious or personal objections, and punish those who won't be vaccinated. They are threatening the lives of others.” It has since been changed to “Make vaccines free, don't allow religious or personal objections, and create disincentives for those who refuse vaccines shown to be safe and effective.” “When a vaccine is ready,” the doctors wrote, it must be free and exemptions must only be made for people with “medical contraindications to immunization.” But “medical conditions that prohibit all COVID-19 vaccines will be rare,” they claimed. No religious or personal objections to receiving the shot or shots should be honored, they wrote, and harsh penalties should be adopted by important sectors of society to pressure the populace to comply. The physicians proposed, “Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals. Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.” They then outlined how a “registry of immunization will be needed with names entered after immunization is completed.” People who receive the vaccine should be issued “certification cards” with expiration dates (“the durability of protection by different vaccines may vary and may require periodic booster immunizations”). The concept of “immunization cards” or digital vaccine records was floated shortly before the coronavirus outbreak and since the virus has spread. SUBSCRIBE to LifeSite's daily headlines U.S. Canada World Catholic A December 2019 article in Scientific American described the vision of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers for embedding vaccine records “directly into the skin” of children. “Along with the vaccine, a child would be injected with a bit of dye that is invisible to the naked eye but easily seen with a special cell-phone filter, combined with an app that shines near-infrared light onto the skin. The dye would be expected to last up to five years, according to tests on pig and rat skin and human skin in a dish.” The development of this idea, which the article proudly noted avoids using “iris scans” that might violate privacy, was “funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.” It “came about because of a direct request from Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates himself, who has been supporting efforts to wipe out diseases such as polio and measles across the world.” Dr. Anthony Fauci, longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of Trump’s top pandemic advisers, said in April that he thought it was “possible” that one day Americans may have to carry certificates showing they are immune to the coronavirus. “I think it might actually have some merit under certain circumstances,” he said. Also in April, Gates speculated, “Eventually, we will have some digital certificates to show who has recovered or been tested recently or when we have a vaccine who has received it.” Lederman, Mehlman, and Youngner concluded by comparing Americans’ fight against the coronavirus to World War I and World War II. Around 37 million casualties can be attributed to World War I, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. World War II was even deadlier, with 70 million to 85 million deaths – including those due to famine, the Holocaust, disease, and other war-related factors – being attributable to it. As of press time, worldwide, there have been 20,383,417 million reported coronavirus cases but only 741,707 reported deaths. 13,281,928 people have contracted the virus and recovered. These numbers may not be accurate due to the unreliability of COVID-19 tests and reporting systems in the United States – which has seen people who were never even tested for the virus receive positive results, the governor of Ohio receiving both positive and negative test results on the same day, and at least one person who died in a motorcycle crash coded as a COVID-19 death – and the likelihood of communist China, where the virus originated, downplaying its infection and death rates. During World War I and World War II, “Everyone contributed, no one was allowed to opt out merely because it conflicted with a sense of autonomy, and draft dodgers who refused to serve were subject to penalties,” the doctors wrote. “True, conscientious objectors could refuse to use weapons for religious reasons, but they were obligated to help out in other ways, serving in noncombatant roles. There are no such alternatives for vaccination.” In a recent online debate on mandatory vaccinations, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pointed out that a significant percentage of participants in a recent trial for a leading coronavirus vaccine have been hospitalized. Kennedy, a liberal environmental attorney and member of the Kennedy political dynasty, also noted that several of the coronavirus vaccine developers, a number of which have received funding from Bill Gates, have been forced to pay billions of dollars in criminal penalties related to their medical products. “It requires a cognitive dissonance for people who understand the criminal corporate cultures of these four companies to believe that they’re doing this in every other product that they have, but they’re not doing it with vaccines,” Kennedy said. In an April 9 article, Kennedy wrote: “Vaccines, for Bill Gates, are a strategic philanthropy that feed his many vaccine-related businesses (including Microsoft’s ambition to control a global vaccination ID enterprise) and give him dictatorial control of global health policy.” Kennedy has been raising awareness about those injured by vaccines since before the coronavirus outbreak and has now emerged as one of the strongest voices against a forced COVID-19 vaccine. Many immunizations are made from cell lines of aborted babies, and a number of the coronavirus vaccines being developed are also using immorally obtained fetal cell lines. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today that his country has approved the world’s first coronavirus vaccine and that one of his daughters received both doses of it. “Questions over its [the vaccine’s] safety remain,” noted one CNN headline, with another asking, “ … would you take a vaccine from Vladimir Putin?”
I think this is probably why HQC is being basically removed from the public sphere anytime someone brings it up as a viable alternative to a vaccine. https://www.fda.gov/media/97321/download
NJ housing market.....usually one day sale in my neighborhood....and paying 30,000 over asking price. It is a sellers market. And also, all of my nephews and nieces have given up their leases in their "beloved NYC' My son moved to Denver last year and loves the hiking and rafting and skiing. His fiancee just left her lease and is moving to Denver as well. Lease in Brooklyn up next week. It's not good. They are lowering the rental prices all over NYC and nobody wants to rent there anylonger. DiBlasio ruined the city and Covid didn't help.
DeBlasio has indeed ruined NYC and yet they voted for him! I don't get why people(in general--not your family) keep electing these destructive mayors and governors. Shaking my head.
My son has not joined the NYC exodus, he will go down with the ship over the loft he occupies in a historic building. Apparently NY has a 'loft board' that was created back in the 70's/80's to provide protection to renters. He has filed a case, and he met with the board yesterday, but who knows what will happen. I do not know how he has managed to survive the madness in that city, he must have nerves of steel. I would have fled long ago.
It’s exactly the same here in Texas, Tanker! The Californians are fleeing their sinking ship and Texas has become one of their lifeboats. Our rural areas have kept our state red, but all our major cities now vote blue. Ugh. It’s predicted that we will be a blue state in the next election. It’s gotten to the point that there are bumper stickers made about it. “Don’t Cali my Texas”, etc.
