I appreciate where you are coming from. I think we all have experienced this to one extent or another. I rely on the Church to approve or disapprove where private revelation through apparitions and prophecies are concerned. It is our only defense against diabolical deception. The exorcist Fr Ripperget has several good talks on youtube that cover this. I think that if we pray every day to the Holy Spirit for proper discernment and if we allow the Blessed Mother to keep us close to Jesus (consecration to her Immaculate Heart) we have a good chance of staying with the truth and hearing the alarm bells when reading or listening to the judas priests. It is a rough road and it is getting narrower every minute but I see so clearly why Jesus has given this age of the Church to His Mother. She destroys heresies and she protects us from error. Her absolute humility overpowers the evil one. Her gift of the Rosary--so simple yet so mighty--is a great bulwark. No wonder the modernists in the Church tried to do away with Marian devotion and the Rosary. The devil knows its power. The same with Eucharistic Adoration and the prayer to St Michael at the end of every Mass. Divine weapons! How quickly the modernists moved to hide the tabernacle and change the language. (A meal not a sacrifice.) Well I'm getting carried away here. Bottom line trust Our Lady to keep you on the narrow path. The Fr Martin's are sadly part of the chastisement. (And yes a Pope can fall--other centuries show us that) The Church is being crucified and God is permitting it. But He will act eventually. The Church's restoration will come. The Immaculate Heart will triumph.
My sister in law thought she saw The Blessed Virgin in her home many years ago and was so happy and excite, but when the image turned around it was the devil. He can impersonate and does Yes. Thank God for the Church and those who investgate , but they do take years to come to conclusion. We can see it with Fatima, with St. Faustina, and Garabandal still no conclusive answer one way or the other and yet many priests believe and there were many witnsess. In these times its very difficult because the private revelations - messages being given today speak to what is currently happening so we don't have years and years to wait for conclusive decisions by our Holy Church. So I listen, pray, take what is good and proceed with caution. But I respect our Pope and pray for him. He's under attack. And not only by evil forces but from us -- his own. God works in strange ways. Maybe he's using him to flush out the evil in the church. But I won't judge him. He will have more to answer to than any of us. I will stay with my prayers. and trust the Holy Spirit to guide me. If he (Pope Francis) leads me astray, I will not follow. We received the Holy Spirit in baptism and confirmation and I pray to Him every day to lead me guide me and strengthen me.
I agree with a lot of what you say, Fede. But I've always been told God is the Master of Time. He sends messages knowing how they will be received. He would never send a message "Out of Time," if it would/could not have the desired effect. Nor would He ever present His Church with a message it was unable to deal with. Remember 70,000 or more people showed up in a field in Fatima for the Miracle of the Sun, in days with no social media, in a place with no telephones, no easy transportation. God drew each witness there. He has things under control. Every obstacle is factored in. Saint Faustina's message of Divine Mercy came into its own through the efforts of St. Pope John Paul II, the "spark" she talked about, many years after it was given--yet at a time Mercy was so greatly needed.
Mayb I also offer, while listening to the readings, Gospel, & Homily on radio during deliveries this morning, I was struck with the absolute faith thru perfect innocence Our Lady had in giving her yes to Gabriel. Let us pray for clarity as perfect as hers in our own discernment. We do not have her perfect grace for obvious reason...none of us was immaculately conceived.
I sure don't want to come across prideful, but neither Our Lady or other great holy people have needed anyone's approval to know they are ever in the presence of heaven (Angels or Our Lady, Lord). Is it not our own pride that makes us constantly stumble over ourselves questioning EVERYTHING that moves & breathes? I venture to include those so filled with the Holy Spirit in the information they have burning in their souls to share, their joy in the glory of God is only stifled by the limitations of this physical body and those around them. Too often we don't trust our own shadow. Some days we're no better than the secular world in our skepticism. We know darn well, it will take the Warning to occur plus other proceeding events for them to be approved. Even then, the ac & minions will go all out to discredit & talk everyone out of believing what they KNOW to be true. Ok, I'll shush now. My opinion
For those that don’t want to sleep tonight I recommend a visit to the mystics of the church website to learn about Sister Magdalena of the Cross -The nun who made a pact with the devil. For years Sister Magdalena was regarded as a saint who performed miracles, had a stigmata, and visions/prophecies. Eventually it came out that she had made a pact with the devil as a child and her works were not from God. https://www.mysticsofthechurch.com/2011/12/sister-magdalena-of-cross-nun-who-made.html?m=1 From the linked article: “The important lessons learned through the extraordinary case of Magdalena of the Cross For those who study the lives of visionaries and the mystics of the Church, Magdalena's extraordinary yet fraudulent mystical life replete with numerous alleged supernatural and mystical gifts that almost perfectly mimic the ones given to authentic mystics should serve as a very grave warning of how the devil can ape and mimic God's works, and can be exceedingly convincing while doing so. For as we see in the case of Sr. Magdalena, he was able to decieve even Cardinals, priests, theologians and others who were very experienced in the mystical life and spiritual matters. The root cause of the ongoing deception: The necessity of spiritual direction and obedience The important missing element which allowed for the ongoing demonic deceptions in the life of Sr. Magdalena was the absence of a priest spiritual director to guide and discern her alleged mystical gifts and supernatural graces. Obedience is the "litmus test" of the Church, and it seems that Sr. Magdalena was never subjected to obedience to a spiritual director. Had she been, the demonic deceptions would certainly have been detected much sooner. Mystics and visionaries should always be guided by a priest spiritual director, and it should always be the priest who directs the mystic, and NOT the mystic who directs the priest. A priest spiritual director represents Christ and His authority within the Church, and therefore mystical and supernatural graces should be subjected to this authority to help discern their authenticity. For sure another one of the spiritual lessons is that all that glitters is not necessarily gold, and the devil does not counterfeit tin or copper, or even silver---he seeks to counterfeit gold. So we need to be very careful, with the help of God, not to be misled by his phony deceptions. -May Jesus inspire, guide and protect us, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary cover us under Her mantle. St Michael the archangel, defend us in battle!”
Thank you...you just reminded me of this story about the nun. I watched a you tube video on this awhile back....it was eye opening for sure. Perfect example of a case to be super cautious about self proclaimed “ mystics”. For sure, mystics exist....but so do those who “proclaim “ they are...and they are anything but.....
Great article indeed. It makes me wonder then what the CTTK site is after. Do they have an end game in all this? Is it simply to sale more books? They dont obviously advertise for money on CTTK, but anyone reading the website would eventually land at Amazon where there books tend to be sold. I know I did. I ended up purchasing The Warning book. Didn't impress me in the end. Just a compilation of stories and revelations found all over the net.
For me, I had already heard about the illumination of all consciences some time ago, echoed in the Warning of Garabandal. So, the book struck an interest which led to Ms. Watkin’s YouTube channel which led to CDTTK website and Fr. MR’s videos. The book was a disappointment, the videos questionable due to their content, and the website had me basically thinking, “Woah! Let’s all take a step back before we go all out and make impetuous connections (ie.’prophetic consensuses’) that may not be kosher.” (Or something like that.)
As to holy people knowing when they are in the presence of good Angels without the help of a spiritual director I give you the example of St. Faustina...When her spiritual director seperated from her for a time an angel visited her and told her to burn her diary and she did so. It was the evil one or one of his demons pretending to be a angel from heaven. So yes, even holy saints can be deceived when a spiritual director is not present... https://www.saint-faustina.org/diary/ Diary Full text of Saint Faustina’s DIARY The Diary of Saint Faustina Kowalska is one of the gems of mystical literature. She wrote it in Vilnius and Kraków in 1934 – 1938, as Jesus Himself had told her to do. Also her confessors, Father Michał Sopoćko in Vilnius and Father Józef Andrasz S.J. in Kraków, instructed her to write it, and the superiors of the Congregation gave her their consent. Her earliest extant notes were written in July 1934. We know that Sister Faustina burnt the original version of the Diary, because when Father Sopoćko was away, she yielded to the persuasion of an alleged angel (in reality Satan). Later, her Vilnian spiritual director told her to reconstruct what she had destroyed. So, the Diary we have today, especially its first notebook, does not follow a chronological order. ------------------------- If the saints themselves can be deceived in these matters it should give us pause trying to discern for ourselves the validity of spiritual experiences and visionaries without the guidance of the Church. St John of the Cross councils us that there is grave danger in giving such experiences weight. If the experience is from our imagination we should not be attached to it. If the experience is from the evil one it is best not to be attached to it. If the experience is from God it will have it's effect if we become attached to it or not. And there is danger even if the experience is from God if we become too attatched to it....The evil one will try to use our attachment to inspire pride. That is why obedience is critical. That is why a spiritual director is critical. That is why we need not discern for ourselves, but trust the Church to discern the validity of this or that seer.
Curious about everyone's opinion on this article from CTTK. Its written by Mark Mallett. Its a bit long so I'll just post a link. https://www.countdowntothekingdom.com/faith-not-fear/ Personally, I do agree with his overall premise of ultimately preparing yourself for what may occur. Even if its not a chastisement, warning, or three days, etc. we all will certainly have and end individually on Earth. As far as the storing 3 months of food and supplies, I do tend to agree with the practice. I know here in Florida we always prepare for hurricane season by buying and storing water, shelf stable food and fuel around May of every year. When December comes and no hurricanes occurred, we use the supplies like normal and buy new the next year, so its not strange to our family, the practice of storing supplies. Even if there is not an apocalyptic occurrence, there still may be a man made one. I know my grocery store has signs all over the store saying something to the tune of suppliers are not able to send stock or keep up with the demand. So clearly, either the supply chain is disturbed or there is not enough product. That should be a sign to everyone to stock up. Hording is different, I believe. In general I do not feel its prudent to go around preaching what some seer has stated is a message, but I do feel its prudent to keep your lamp filled with out. Which has been stated countless times in the church and on these forums. Curious as to everyone else's thought.
I believe in prophecy but that it must be tested and in obedience to the church. The flagrant disobedience and confusion (among other things) that have come from the countdown site makes me believe that it’s from the devil. I have a hard time believing that the contributors even believe Father M with all of the brand building, podcasts, oils selling, etc on the site. This is a big part of why I’m not a fan of any of the countdown contributors so I’m going to skip the article and respond based on your comment. Numerous priests and other have been saying for years that we are in the end times. I believe that as well. The thing is we don’t know how long these times are going to last. I think it’s a good idea to have food on hand, for example, as long as it’s something we can reasonably afford to do. However I listened to a conference by Father Ripperger where he makes two great points on this topic. 1. You can store up all you want but you will only have what God wants you to have and 2. If you’re going to store up food you better store up ammo. There’s a big contrast to me between Father Ripperger and Father M. Father Ripperger sounds more prudent to me. Do what you can but remember it’s up to God. On the other hand I feel there is a sense of certainty to Father M’s messages that is dangerous. People have specific expectations and are taking things into their own hands. It’s a false sense of security. Long story short: listen to Father Ripperger ETA
Fair enough. Problem I have though seems to be that more of the church hierarchy is starting to come out saying and many supporting some of these ideas. For example, I know we have most likely seen the Fr Goring videos or perhaps even the Mother Mariam Live radio shows where they are saying be prepared. Is that normal? I'm not arguing for CTTK. Please dont view my curiosity as such. In all truthfulness, I have actually gained a different view of CTTK from posters on this forum. Which I try to thank many of you for! I simply have a curiosity. Growing up Catholic and attending Catholic schools through high school, I was never exposed to prophesy if one can believe. I actually just began reading stuff this year. The video below is from Mother Mariam Live. I was surprised by what she had to say. I've listened to her quite a bit in the past. She flat out says she not a prophet or anything like that, she basically says she simply sees the writing on the wall and trust close confidants.
I emailed Mother Miriam very kindly with solid facts as to appeal to her sense of reason, but never received a reply. This is unfortunate. The day I did so was the day she had a caller a bit frantically try to explain to her the havoc Fr. M.’s alleged prophesies were having on some people and what the bishops, theologians, etc. have said. Mother seemed to almost cut them off. As far as it goes with Fr. Goring (ONLY MY OPINION), he has demonstrated a proclivity toward delving deeper into unapproved private revelation in a way that can lead any good priest down into possible traps. He didn’t show this in his early videos when he first became more popular on YouTube. But lately, he’s swallowed the Countdown view hook, line and sinker. I’m praying for them both.
Hello there, fellow Floridian, welcome to the forum! In respect to being prepared, you are correct here in Florida, being a peninsula with three bodies of water at each side, we are in the habit of preparing for the hurricane season, but this year it's even more important to have enough supplies in case the family needs to self-quarantine from the virus and from the general discord of our time. As you said not go crazy hoarding, but have enough on hand to meet the needs of the family. And if you can help others as well.
I am reminded of a friend who is a revert to the Church, keeping 1 leg in her evangelical church. She will not do anything unless Jesus tells her to. That includes cleaning her house, car, going out with friends...I have often encouraged her against that line of thinking. I have also encouraged spiritual direction w a good priest/theologian. She is far too confident in her own ability to discern spirits. So I mostly leave her alone and pray for her.
