Hi Everyone, If I could trouble you for some prayers for my mother-in-law, Annette, I would greatly appreciate it. She had a stroke many years ago and her health has been a roller coaster ever since. She is back in the hospital this week with an infection. On top of it, she gets very confused and agitated in the hospital, which makes things even tougher. If you could say a quick prayer for her, it would mean a lot. Also... please remember my wife too. She bears the brunt of the caretaking and I know that this is a great strain on her. Thanks! Please know that you are all in my prayers too!
BFC, I'll take them both to the Chapel with me today. God bless you all, I know it's hard on your as well.
Thanks to everyone for the prayers- already answered, in a way, because our parish priest was with her today to annoint her and give her the Eucharist. Praise God!
Thank you all for your prayers for my mother-in-law last month... Praise God- she is home now, back in her own apartment, and doing quite well. A miracle, for sure! Thank you all again, so much... Friends, I unfortunately need to enlist your help yet again. We just found out that my grandmother, who is in her late eighties, has stage 4 cancer in her kidneys and lungs. The prognosis is not good. Please say a quick prayer for her, her name is Mary. Thank you all... I am praying for your intentions as well.
I am just catching up on whats been going on and yes I too will pray for your intentions. I have had a very difficult few days with my mother. She is 97 and lives with me. She had 'I think' a mini stroke on Sunday morning. I thought she was dead but she revived. Doc wanted to send her to hospital but I held out against it as our hospital system is in chaos because of cutbacks. She could end up lying on a trolley in casualty for hours and hours. Our priest annointed her and like lazarus she is back from the dead. I had already arranged a family Mass in my house tonight as she was 97 last week so all is going ahead. On another note my mother in law is 101 and is fully compes mentes. She lives nearby and is coming to the Mass also tonight. My mother is suffering from alzeimers but she does know us most of the time. BFLO I know how exausting it can be being a carer. I am getting better at it. I have had to develop patience so the Lord is working on me through this. Mary
I'm stunned not only at the longevity in your family but at the strength and ability to care for your mother. Kudos to you for knowing not to send her to the hospital. Those choices are so difficult especially if they land squarely on "your" shoulders. May God bless her and you and all who enter under your roof.
Praying for both grandmother and mother. I met your mother Mary, of course and she made such a good impression on me...
Thank you all for the prayers... They have been efficacious! Our parish Priest came by and spent some time with my Grandma last week and gave her the annointing of the sick, along with viaticum. It was a great blessing, because her condition has been deteriorating steadily. In fact, the day after the Priest came, she was no longer able to get herself out of bed. So it was a great grace the he saw her when he did! We are now caring for her at home, trying to keep her comfortable, while nature takes its course. We are being told that she will likely pass on over the next day or so. Please pray for her as she prepares to go home to Jesus. Thank you!
Hi everyone... I am bumping this thread up, because my mother-in-law needs prayers again. She was rushed to the hospital today from the nursing facility where she has been living... I don't have many details, but it doesn't look good. Please remember Annette in your prayers! Thanks...
Praying for Annette now and at Holy Thursday Mass shortly. Praying for yourself and your wife too at this hard time, Bi, It is astonishing the pain people suffer in the Valley of Tears, but all this too will pass....
Thank you all for your prayers... It seemed pretty bleak when we arrived, but after a number of anxious hours, she started to come out of it. We are not entirely sure what the heck happened... I suppose we will find out more tomorrow, but the one thing I know for sure is that your prayers helped!! Thank you all.
Please say a prayer for my mother-in-law... She died earlier today after a brief hospital stay. It was a peaceful death- she received the annointing two times!! - but your prayers for the repose of Annette's soul are appreciated. Thank you all!
