    Awesome morning! Eucharistic adoration, rosary, Consecration, Mass. And lots of people AND children there . . .

    You are making a point here. However, I know several prayer groups that have been steadfastly doing this Atonement Saturday for decades. I have participated in them, but have sadly slacked off again. We are indebted to these faithful prayers for their great deed. They have a share in our salvation. Bishops and priests could also make an offer to their faithful and not expect everything from the Pope. There are lay people who are happy to organize such prayer groups with little support, if the priest is also available for Holy Mass and confession.

    ClareG, Thank you for posting this.

    Being an English speaking person, a lot of my difficulty with the other translations of the consecration is that I can't understand why the title of Queen of Heaven was not translated to all other languages. Instead, there is this huge difference in these translations from the English one. I wonder if any other clergy have addressed this. Bishop Strickland did and he stated the following:

    As we join Pope Francis in the Consecration Prayer on March 25, we must pay special attention to Mary’s titles like Queen of Heaven. There are questions about some translations in other languages. We must ensure that all translations are accurate & honor Mary, Queen of Heaven. https://www.bishopstrickland.com/
    I think that all of the confusion in the world today is probably part of our chastisement. Mari Loli spoke of this https://www.garabandal.com.au/garabandals-prophecy-about-communism/ .

    I'm still praying that heaven accepts this consecration as Our Lady requested and I'm done complaining about this today. At least, I hope so. +

  5. Hi Katfalls
    My heart is full as yours is this morning as the sun rises over our land of the long white cloud, Aotearoa, New Zealand. A new day dawns for the world. About 50 of us gathered at 5am in our Church of St Thomas More, parish of All Saints by the Sea in the beautiful Mount Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty. 10 minutes drive away we have the town of Bethlehem. How fitting it all is. The only lights in the church were the two spotlights on the alter and the four candles. Our young and holy priest Fr Matthew celebrated a beautiful mass during which he delivered a moving homily. After mass we had adoration and after as we prayed and waited for Our Holy Father to make the great Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart Father Matthew heard confessions just as Pope Francis heard confessions in St Peters. And we watched it all live streamed on to the big screen at the front of the church. Then came the words of consecration that will open the world to the saving grace of The Immaculate Heart through the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Now we pray and wait as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane knowing that suffering lies ahead but that it will end in Triumph through the love of God. Thank you Blessed Mother, Thank you Pope Francis, Thank you Jesus.

    I don't know how Heaven will receive the Consecration, God will take care of it in His time. It was a dark and dreary day when I say down to watch EWTN. When Pope Francis began the Consecration, the sun came streaming through the windows. A sense of peace washed over me, a heavy weight was lifted. These past couple of weeks have been a struggle for so many of us, but I feel hopeful that the world was blessed with many graces. :)

    Beautiful.
    I watched the Consecration, too. I was touched when he spoke the words, “the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

    I tried as best I could to listen and participate in the mass while I was at work. I hope God did not mind when I had to pause the broadcast of the mass when people came into the office. I didn’t realize I had begun quietly singing the Agnus Dei until my coworker asked me what song I was singing because she had never heard it before :rolleyes: Of course it was nothing incomparison to the raised eyebrows I got when I dropped not once, not twice but three times to my knees for the consecration of the Eucharist and then for the consecration of Russia. :)

    After it was over I explained the significance and a little about Fatima. Later I looked over and saw they had googled Fatima and were looking at pictures of the miracle of the sun :D

    Take that Satan :D

    I got goosebumps when I heard the word "Russia" at the part where it was consecrated. What a joy, to be alive and present when Russia was finally consecrated before all the world.

    The two non-Catholic members of my family actually watched the Pope's livestreamed consecration, and one of them (the atheist) attended Mass with my sister. Such a gift!

    I attended the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine last night. Our cathedral was packed.
    It was beautiful in every way. It was one of the most catholic celebrations I’ve ever attended in our diocese…honestly, a surprise to me.
    Thank you Jesus and Mary. It filled 44C7B43C-042E-4478-B446-95A8B73A5228.jpeg

    I know many have said this on this forum… there are no coincidence. So I put this here perhaps as a sign and the next step after yesterdays Consecration. The Psalms from this Mornings Divine Office prayed by the entire Universal Church, including the pope, bishops and all who participated in yesterdays momentous event. I don’t see these psalms are mere chance…. I sense it almost as what God now expects and what we need.

    Psalm 118 (119): 145-152
    You, O Lord, are close; your ways are truth.
    I call on you with all my heart –
    answer me, Lord.
    I will obey your laws.
    I call on you –
    save me
    so that I can keep your decrees.
    At first light I cry to you,
    I put all my hope in your word.
    In the night I keep watch,
    pondering your sayings.
    In your mercy, Lord, hear my voice;
    in your justice, give me life.
    My persecutors come to do me harm:
    they are far from your law.
    But you, Lord, are near to me,
    and you are trustworthy in all your precepts.
    From the beginning I have known your decrees,
    how you have made them to last for ever.
    Glory be to the Father and to the Son
    and to the Holy Spirit,
    as it was in the beginning,
    is now, and ever shall be,
    world without end.
    Amen.
    You, O Lord, are close; your ways are truth.

    Wisdom 9

    Lord, let your wisdom be with me to help me and to work with me.
    God of my fathers and Lord of mercy,
    who made all things by your word;
    who in your wisdom set man to rule over all that you created
    – to arrange the world in holiness and justice
    – to make right judgements according to the guidance of his heart:
    give me Wisdom, who stands by your throne,
    and let me not be unworthy to be your servant.
    For I am your slave and the son of your servant-girl,
    a man, weak, short-lived,
    slow to understand your judgements and laws.
    Even the highest of the children of men
    – if your wisdom is absent – counts for nothing.
    With you abides Wisdom, who knows your works.
    She was with you when you made the world.
    She knew what was pleasing to your eyes.
    She saw what was right according to your precepts.
    Send your Wisdom from the highest heaven;
    send her from the throne of your greatness;
    that she may abide with me and work with me,
    so that I may know what it is that pleases you.
    For Wisdom knows everything, and understands;
    she will lead me wisely in what I do,
    and protect me in her glory.
    Glory be to the Father and to the Son
    and to the Holy Spirit,
    as it was in the beginning,
    is now, and ever shall be,
    world without end.
    Amen.
    Lord, let your wisdom be with me to help me and to work with me.

    Short Reading Isaiah 1:16-18 ©
    Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean. Take your wrong-doing out of my sight. Cease to do evil. Learn to do good, search for justice, help the oppressed, be just to the orphan, plead for the widow. Come now, let us talk this over, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
    Short Responsory
    It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
    It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
    And from the evil word.
    It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
    Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
    It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
