Praying for All of you and the sick child.

So sorry you are struggling with the current arrangement, when we plan things in one way it can be challenging when things don’t turn out that way. We are often told God sends us Angels in mysterious ways to help us even when we don’t know we really need it.

Thank God for your MIL, God has brought her in your life at this time for a reason. Perhaps you could consider occasionally gently joining to a game of cards. It might also be very nice to simply put up your legs, rest, relax and read a great book, when the little one arrives you will remember this time and miss it. Just try and remember you have the children for the rest of their childhood.

Perhaps think of it as God preparing for you, the arrival of the new addition to the family. Forgive me if I am wrong, I recall in one post where the youngest one was very clingy. This may be the opportunity for the children to gain a bit of independence, so you will have less pressure when the baby arrives and not get too exhausted.

With all the things going on in the world and reading some of the prophecies, families may all start living together as in the days of old. Grandparents are just wonderful to grandchildren, children do enjoy a certain freedom.

OH my heart goes out to you! It's very *unsettling* to your precious heart, to say the least... in so many regards. Keep close to Our Lady and know that it *will* get better. There is nothing that can or will usurp the love between mother and child, so do not fear that such will be compromised in any way by the kids' relationships with MIL. I too would think MIL sees you nauseous and is just trying to be helpful; meanwhile, you're 'grieving' in a sense for your children (& family, and privacy, and....), not to mention the pregnancy hormones affecting you. It *will* get better. May Our Lady continue to surround you with Her Mantle and keep you close to Her Maternal Immaculate Heart!!! And prayers for your child to get well!!!

Prayers for all the needs expressed in this thread. As I read and think of the situations within my own family, I come to the thought that in many ways our families and the relationships / interactions are our way to individual conversions and holiness. I hope this is no scandalous but doing the “Church” stuff- Mass, sacraments, prayer etc are all obviously good and something we should do, but I’m not sure they lead us to holiness and the daily conversion as much as our just daily living in our homes , work and life. It’s here where I can see my “true” self- my pride, anger, arrogance is revealed through the others in my life. It’s in a sense a grace and a gift because it shows me I need to convert and repent and rely more on God as,I hope for the spirit of Jesus Christ to be alive in me. And again, not to sound scandalous but in a sense these others are the “crosses” in my life - I can refuse the Cross or lovingly accept it…knowing that through the cross is my own redemption. I want to be like this but believe me I’m a long way from it…. Ask my wife what her cross is…. I’m sure she would lovingly look at me:)

Yikes. I wonder if he is harboring a pocket of infection somewhere. We all had our tonsils out when we were little back in the day just for such a reason. But with the advent of antibiotics that ceased to be common. Please if you can, get him to eat lots of yogurt. Antibiotics remove so many good bacteria along with the bad.

Yes, I plan to load him up with yogurt as soon as his appetite returns. I sure hate him having to be on antibiotics again so soon.

A lovely story about a Mother in Law and her new daughter in Scripture.

I thank you all for your prayers and perspectives. God is very good; He's been working on me, I think, to change my perspective, and it's helping.

It also hugely helps when my husband isn't working overtime. Just knowing I'll be able to spend some time with him in the evening lifts the feelings of depression and loneliness. We're discussing how we can alter his overtime schedule a bit.

I understand what you are saying, miker, but I would tend to say the channels of grace are the means by which our eyes see with faith the events of life as crosses to be carried, not problems to be cursed.

Can people pray for me. Feeling that God is angry with me. Sometimes I feel close to Jesus but then the darkness comes back.

O God, I thank you for the day, personal for each one of us, that your Spouse baptised each of us into the grace of your indwelling Presence. Where would we be without your Holy Catholic Church, where would we be without the Holy Mass? Where would we be without the sacraments and the fellowship of the saints? Thank you for Mary, thank you for the crosses in our lives which keep us humble, which point the way to our heavenly home! Thank you for the precious Eucharist which we will receive with our brothers and sisters this weekend. Show us how we can help one another share the load and speak the Gospel with words and deeds.

Blessed be Your Most Holy Name!

Peter, Jesus our Light is with you, more surely than the light switch on the wall which turns on a light bulb. His Love and Mercy is always available, inexhaustible and tender. I'm praying!
