I've finished my Chaplet of Divine Mercy and have prayed to Our Lady while holding a rock from Mount Krizevac!
@padraig Padraig sent me a message a few weeks ago saying he was praying to St Alphonsus Liguori for me in relation to my Arthritus, I had to look him up as I did not know who he was.. Just now whilst praying for Brendan I opened my St Michael book at random.. this is what I opened at "Among the writings of St Alphonsus Liguori, we find the following account of St Michael's assistance at the hour of death; A certain polish nobleman had for many years lead a wicked life. When the hour of death approached, he was filled with terror and tortured by remorse of conscience over his former recklessness, so that he was reduced to utter despair, No amount of exhortation or encouragement had any effect on him; he refused absolutely every spiritual consolation. This unhappy man, however, still had some veneration for St Michael and God in his mercy permitted the holy Archangel to appear to him in his last struggle. St Michael encouraged him to repentance and said that he had prayed and obtained for him sufficient time to regulate the affairs of his soul. Shortly afterwards, two Dominican priests came to the house, saying that a stranger had sent them . The sick man recognized this as the work of St Michael. He confessed his sins amid tears of repentance, received Holy Communion with touching devotion and breathed forth his soul with every indication of being truly reconciled with God." "Thou, O Michael," we read in the liturgical year, "art the protector of our souls in their passage from time to eternity. During this present life, thine eye is upon our wants and thine ear open to our prayers. Though awed by thy brightness of thy glory, we love thee, dear prince of heaven and we live happy and contented beneath the shadow of thy wings. In a few years perhaps, our holy mother the church will be performing her last rites over our lifeless remains ; she will pray for us, to our Heavenly Father, that we may be delivered from the lion's mouth and that the standard-bearer, St Michael, may bring us into the holy light. Watch over us now, O holy Archangel, lest we should then not deserve thy protection. "See to it, dear St Michael, that having been sprinkled with the Precious Blood of our Redeemer received in Holy Viaticum, we appear clothed with the royal robe before our judge. "Thee Michael, thee, When sight and breathing fail, The disembodied soul shall see; The pardon'd soul with solemn joy shall hail, When holiest rites are spent, and tears no more avail"
I have one as well and also a piece of lead flashing form the cross which melted into the shape of Our Lady of Medjugore's image. I must see if I can find it and post a pic.. Thankyou Terry
Yes, I picked that up back on December 5, 1987! Ben was 3 and Rachel was 1; both crashed as we were making the ascent (poor timing), so Geralyn and I turned back halfway up. A couple of nights later, Geralyn saw the Cross mysteriously lit up, while we were outside the parish church. In those days the children were still experiencing apparitions in a side room in the church to the right of the altar. I will still claim the most wonderful miracles we witnessed were the love and generosity of the villagers. There were no hotels back in those days; everyone was housed in the homes of the villagers. Memories of our trip remain crystal clear in my heart and mind! Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us!
I have stones from kriezavac. I took one at every station along the stations of the Cross. 14 of them. Very special.
My wife and some members of her family have organised adoration for Brendan today 2pm - 5pm (uk Time) in St Peters cathedral Belfast, I have posted the web cam link below if you wish to join them, also any members here from Belfast are more than welcome at St Peter's. https://www.churchservices.tv/stpeterscathedral
They weren't very big. I wasn't toting boulders but it was special to me. We prayed the stations as we went and at each station I took a stone with me.
My wife and sisters spent time in adoration today an hour before they where finishing a young man arrived to join them, just as they where about to finish with the rosary they got talking to the man, he told them that he was told today to go to adoration in St Peters by God, Much more to post on this as things are moving in the right direction for Brendan, Our prayers are working God is in control... this is the young man that called today...
