Never have I seen such conniving, insidious evil inflicted on a friend. Tom and Sue Cunningham are the sweetest and most generous couple one could ever meet. We've been close for 40 years. They bought a house about 3 months ago in which they now live. A couple who supposedly was buying their previous home have delayed the closing through devious means and now are refusing to pay a $1500 release on their purchase offer so that other parties interested in the home can even look at the house and make an offer. Meanwhile, Tom and Sue are forced to continue to carry the financial burden of two homes. You could say it's bringing them to the point of insolvency- all because this couple refuses to pay the $1500. Why? Who knows? You would think the legal status would not be so convoluted! Please pray that this impasse is resolved soon.
I have found the surrender prayer helpful in times of stress. Jesus I surrender Tom and Sue to you. Take care of everything.
Praying to Our Lady of Loreto that Tom and Sue will be relieved of this situation by Dec 10th (feast of Our Lady of Loreto) Our Lady of Loreto, Our Glorious Mother, we confidently turn to you; receive our humble prayer. Humanity is troubled by great evils, which it wishes to overcome on its own, and is in need of peace, justice, truth and love, yet thinks it can find these divine realities away from your Son. O Mother! You, who carried the Divine Savoir in your immaculate womb and lived with Him in the Holy House that we venerate on the Loreto Hill, grant us the grace to seek Him and imitate His example, He who leads us to salvation.Amen
I’ll be praying. I suppose that the buyer’s contract gave them the ability to do this, ugh. I wonder if there is a time limit though.
Mario I will pray for your dear friends. They are in a time of testing. It seems the evil one uses every trick at his disposal to undermine Gods faithful. This can be very testing, because of our humanness. I can understand Tom and Sue's plight; here in Australia, I can no longer work as a nurse, because of the mandated covid vax for all health workers, it is a real suffering in so many ways, including financially. Two things I have to constantly remind myself of are.... 1) Matthew 6: 25 -33. And 2) The power of praise is a mighty weapon which causes the evil one to recoil, thwarting many evil attacks. Eternal Father, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen
Honestly, Josephite, in spite of deepening relationships on the parish level, on a feeling level I still miss hospital and nursing home ministry very much. But God's Will be done. The deepest joy is experiencing God's faithfulness no matter where He places us. And Geralyn is still willing to put up with me. The latest best news is that our youngest, Danny, plans on coming home for Thanksgiving! Love goes on. As the many missed out on the Bethlehem miracle, help me, Jesus, to be more hospitable and reach out to the alienated during the coming holy days!
Personally, I think that your friends should look into getting a new lawyer. Terry, I guess that you were spared the brunt of that snowstorm, thankfully.
