I watched all 7 episodes yesterday. So tragic! so disturbing and gutwrenching.

Today is the anniversary of the finding of Sister Cathy's body (in 1970).

I think that it seems to have been a Ring of abusers in more or less powerful positions in the community who were all working in a way as one entity, and people in high places, probably higher than Fr Maskill, ordered her death. Maskill ended up in a rest home at a young age,
and seemed, from one account, to be unable to speak or recognise familiar faces. He died at 62.

I wondered if " they" had drugged him up and ensured he could never talk/ confess if questioned, then he too died prematurely. 2 days later, Sister Russell was dead too! Thats very strange. Somehow, please God, the truth will out of this ghastly situation.

 

I also have wondered what the Divine Office was like in the 50's/ 60's prior to modernisation.

Thank you for mentioning Rick. He has been very much on my heart this past year and I have been praying for him. His death struck me very hard. I like to think you are right and he is saying hello and asking for prayer.

 

Like you AED I too often think of member "the flying nun" since his last posts on the MoG site, while he was in hospital with covid.

May the Lord grant perpetual rest and light to Rick and may his soul rest in peace. Amen.

 

When I saw the quoting of Flying Nuns post, my eyebrows went up and I thought to self - didn’t he die? I didn’t know him but it made me a little sad to think of people who were lost to us. I will pray for his soul and all those we lost in the last year.

I was feeling a sense of disturbance and shock/ horror today - as I had watched the entire 7 episodes of The Keepers last night. In order to try to discuss it with fellow Catholics, I went on MOG Forum today to see if any discussion of the series could be found here. Up came afew posts, including Rick's post. I replied to it, not realising Rick had passed away. Its night time here and I should be asleep, but I find it hard to go to sleep while knowing more and trying to digest the sad events of the Ring in Baltimore that destroyed so many lives. I found myself thinking of Fr Malachi Martin and Windswept House, and wishing he were still here on this earth, as he wrote about a similar Ring in Chicago, "The Boys Club" and tried to get the message accross that these things were/ are only too real. And he,of course, was not the only courageous one. Some people who have tried to shed light on these matters have had family members bumped off. It's scary.

 

Yes Lumena. The shock and horror are palpable. Because I was an early reader/listener of Malachi Martin I knew this all much earlier. No one wanted to hear it. I mean NO ONE. In the Church or in my family or parish. I went silent and hoped and prayed. During President Trump's term a lot of whistle-blower came forward. The depravity extends through every corridors of power--government and law and entertainment and academia and the Church and churches. No one has escaped the taint. It is the 100 years of the enemy's power spoken of by Leo XIII. But I do believe that time is drawing to a close.

 

You might also remember Tracy Worrell who suffered excruciating pain from lime disease and sadly took her own life. This was more than a few years ago but as Fr Chris Alar assures us it is right and proper to pray for her soul. God's mercy is unfathomable.

 

Let’s not be naive… the military controls the Vatican, and has for a long time. There are undertones to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that go back to the breakup of the Holy Roman Empire and the East-West schism. The Popes have Authority but not Autonomy. The Orthodox have Autonomy but not Authority.

 

Oh AED I didn’t know Tracy took her own life? I thought she died at the hospital. So sad. I’ve never forgotten her. Let’s keep praying. God have mercy.

 

Thanks for bringing Rick up as I remember him by name in my prayers always. It just really struck me hard that he may be indeed asking for prayers. Praying for Rick and Tracy with Papa Benedict XVI. Papa Benedict XVI remember them when you are with the Lord!

Prayers for the souls of Tracy and Rick.

 

So sad I will try to remember her and her family in my prayers. You never know what goes on between a soul and God during the dying process.
