It's a difficult decision. If actions speak louder than words, Trump has been the most pro-life presidential candidate since abortion was legalised. Apart from George W. Bush, who made some pro-life changes (but nothing as substantial as Trump), some lip-service was paid, but very little else. He's certainly the lesser of two evils. To not vote for him is a vote for the Democrat candidate, by default. The latter is likely to attempt to reverse what Trump has already done. Still, it seems perfectly acceptable to deny him his vote. I don't think it is necessarily wrong to abstain or to vote for Trump...it all depends on intention. It would obviously be wrong to give Trump a vote merely because he's supporting In Vitro Fertilisation and all that goes with it, but to vote for him because the other crowd does the same anyway, but at least he does much good in other areas, seems not unreasonable.
Given Trump's age, this is probably the last chance we'll see him as president again. I am not an American citizen, but I would vote for him if I could since the support and Christians' prayers can be a regenerating factor for him.
This would be my own reason to vote for him, along with his seeming rejection by the "uni-party". The real pro life work is done on "the ground", imo. The changing of hearts and minds is more of a personal witness than a political direction. Young people are leading the way in this regard...Getting Roe vs Wade tossed was a great gift to the USA, as it removed sanctioned murder from the "law books". It may be ignored by the powers that be, but God sees it's now off the books, so to speak. That can only be a good thing....
If I were an American I would, like Orangina, vote for Trump. When he won in 2016 I felt relief that America dodged a bullet (think of Mrs Clinton as President!). Not just because of the fact that here was a man who wasn’t a politician or in anyone’s pocket but because he would likely be selecting members of the US Supreme Court. And this, my friends, is why I hope you will vote for him. The Supreme Court has lasting power while presidents come and go. Biden’s choice was a matter, in my view, of woke box ticking. A Democrat president will do his utmost to overturn the current balance and this could bring back Roe, or worse. I may be wrong but I suspect that the Donald isn’t the most reflective of people. He talked about people being helped ‘to have a precious child’. He may not understand the prolife position on IVF and may even misinterpret it. In any case, he’s not a hard line pro abort like almost all Democrat politicians. of course all this may be academic if polling stations are left open until all possible voters or votes can be harvested, and the machines switch tranches of votes from red to blue. A Trump presidency may do much to prevent future shenanigans such as we saw in 2020
Situation ethics can be defined as an individualistic and subjective appeal to the concrete circumstances of actions to justify decisions in opposition to the natural law or God’s revealed will. Pope Pius XII spoke against situation ethics. We cannot roll the dice when we make decisions,.
Trump may not be on the ballot in multiple states because of his past actions on J6 etc. That's surely going to cause him problems in both primary and especially the general. Not good. This is one of the major issues with Trump, he does some good sometimes, but is very indisciplined at other times. It depends on if sufficient conservatives surround him, then inject good ideas into his head. At those times, he sounds Conservative. At others, not so much. Like his "6 week heartbeat bills are a "terrible thing" remark for e.g. Anyway, "Illinois judge kicks Trump off primary ballot An Illinois judge has ruled that Donald Trump engaged in insurrection and has barred him from the state's primary ballot - though she put the ruling on hold pending an appeal. Two other states - Colorado and Maine - have removed Mr Trump from their primary ballots for violating a 14th Amendment "insurrection" clause. The final outcome will likely be decided by the US Supreme Court. Illinois' primary election is scheduled for 19 March." From: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68432465
The Supreme Court will not let states keep him off the ballot especially since he has not been found guilty of any crimes regarding J6 and also since the Supreme Court is going to hear the case but this case will now most likely go far past election day. Individuals can make all the claims they want about insurrection and the 14th amendment but you can't convict someone on opinion, it has to be established in the courts and that has not occurred. These are some of the reasons I will vote for Trump. All the people that I feel are enemies of God and workers for Satan despise Trump and are doing all they can to keep him from winning. They have tried the legal process and that is failing, so now they will try to kill him, start WW3 or lord knows what else they may try but I would expect that from around mid summer to the election all of our "Spidey senses" should be way up. Be smart especially with your finances. The elites are dumping stocks now like they know something big is coming this fall. I wouldn't rule out DeSantis as his running mate now either. They seem to have mended their differences.
"Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis rule out being US election running mates as their bickering continues" https://www.thepinknews.com/2024/02/27/donald-trump-ron-desantis-not-running-mates-2024-election/ I think it would be good if DeSantis is Trump's VP, he'd probably push Trump to be more Conservative. But that doesn't seem to be happening. Let's see what happens. I think it will be decided over the course of the next month. But there are at the least some serious issues for Trump to work on. He needs to retract calling Heartbeat Bills "a terrible thing, a terrible mistake" for one thing. If he did that, he would gain my respect for it. But let's see.
I don't like his view on abortion either but now it seems like for this issue he is trying to be a politician versus what he may actually believe. Hard to say but abortion crushed the republicans in the mid term elections all across the country and it will be the primary selling point from the democrats in this election. It is all we are going to hear about from them because they have nothing else to run on.
However, what is at issue is mere politics. Not doctrine. We are not making rules, when we vote for politicians, we do so for right living, and attempting to manipulate society to being as close to that doctrinal ideal as we can. Sometimes, our choices are very limited and totally inadequate. In such circumstances, it seems to me desirable that we do as little damage as possible.
In almost every issue apart from abortion I can subscribe to the claim that Trump is the lesser of two evils. But Trump's decision of caving in on the issue of abortion shows that in reality he is a pragmatist. He is unable to perceive the spiritual warfare underway. The 1960s produced the turning point in diabolical warfare in the USA which was initiated in that decade by the embrace of abortion and contraception. The following introduction to the book, Demonic Abortion, describes that abortion is not simply a bad choice: Demonic Abortion is a companion edition to Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer's larger work, Exorcism and the Church Militant. The parallels in the pro-life movement to the Church's hand-to-hand combat with the devil in exorcism are legion. The abortion industry is not just powerful in worldly terms; it is the institutionalized power of the devil. Human beings cannot commit such immense atrocities without a diabolical intelligence and malice giving them power. The scope of the killing, the fervor of abortion's missionaries of death and the seductive force of its ideology transcend the human intellect and will. Only the Church has the spiritual resources and the authority to end the culture of death. This book examines not only the satanic nature of the abortion industry, but also the spiritual power that the Church can marshal in the defense of the most innocent of God's children, the unborn--and their mothers. Christ will use the hearts that are ready to pray and the hands that are ready to work, and He will, through His Church Militant, drive out the evil of abortion from our midst. Part and parcel in this battle is the concept, no compromise. I judge no one's conscience- I speak for my own. Lord have Mercy!
Really, really understand what is at stake here. I am as pro life as all of you here. But we must vote. Trump is absolutely not perfect, but his policies, and how he dealt with geopolitics was incredibly healthy for the West, and the world. Believe me, we need common sense in Washington, and we don’t have much time. The Democrats cannot win, period. Listen to this gentleman. He’s in finance and has done a good job in analyzing where we may be heading.
Biden's defense secretary announced this week that, in the event of the defeat of the Ukraine, NATO will have to go to war with Russia. This would inevitably escalate to nuclear holocaust. Mario rightly describes Trump as a 'pragmatist'. The world desperately needs a pragmatist to displace the lunatics currently running the United States.
My view is that Trump is not to be trusted. 1. He is a freemason. Look it up 2. He is the snake that he refers to when he read 'The Snake' poem at his campaign rallies in 2016 https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/...e-snake-what-trumps-use-of-metaphors-reveals/ 3. He called himself the Father of the vax https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/29/dona...joe-biden-is-destroying-our-country-14493768/ 4. Trump appointed conservative Supreme Court Justices, however, in striking down Roe vs. Wade, the justices have not limited or curbed the distribution of abortion inducing drugs that may be taken at home. The horror of this is that the mother will kill in the privacy of her home rather than going to the clinic. This is now a very popular option https://spiritdaily.org/blog/news/cvs-walgreens-to-sell-birth-control-pills 5. Trump gave us the lookdowns and his bad leadership during the manufactured covid crisis had wrecked many people's mental health and family relationships and friend networks. I think the media is all on board with a Trump presidency and my vote for or against him doesn't amount to anything. The powers that be have already decided that he will be in next. Merciful Jesus, Save us.
I agree with you. But according to my dream God took him out. I’m not seeing any repentance that God will put him back in. But I’m watching. It’s a long way to Tipperary as they say.
