Last one. Conchita of Garabandal said: “The Blessed Virgin told us that it is a greater grace to receive Jesus in Holy Communion than to see her.”
At Adoration tonight, during Fathers reflection, he said the following which I thought was both wise an beautiful: The devil knows your name, but calls you by your sin; Jesus knows your sin, but calls you by your name
"Mary if I were Queen of Heaven and you were Thérèse, I should want to be Thérèse that you be Queen of Heaven!!!" (Last Conversations).
Have you noticed how faith and religion are falling away, so some trends are growing, not only spiritual ones like yoga, various meditations, but let's say traveling as a way to fill time, not just rest.. A man created in the spiritual image of God does not cease to be a spiritual being if he says he is an atheist, but that spirit in him is restless and seeks compensation. Then in everything he tries to find some satisfaction that will fill him and people wander from pleasure to pleasure. That's why this is a great quote from Bishop Sheen. "Lenten practices of giving up pleasures are good reminders that the purpose of life is not pleasure. The purpose of life is to attain to perfect life, all truth and undying ecstatic love - which is the definition of God. In pursuing that goal we find happiness. Pleasure is not the purpose of anything; pleasure is a by-product resulting from doing something that is good. One of the best ways to get happiness and pleasure out of life is to ask ourselves, 'How can I please God?' and, 'Why am I not better?' It is the pleasure-seeker who is bored, for all pleasures diminish with repetition." Fulton J. Sheen
A most simple yet profound way to rid ourselves of pride: Blessed Raymond of Capua recounts the dialogue of Jesus with St. Catherine of Siena in this way The holy Virgin told her confessors, of who, though unworthy, I was one, that, at the beginning of her visions, when the Lord Jesus Christ first began to appear to her, he said, “Do you know, daughter, who you are, And who I am? If you know these two things, you will be blessed. You are she who is not; whereas I am He who is. Have this knowledge in you and the enemy will never deceive you…“
St Edith Stein: "We will only find out about those souls to whom we owe the decisive turning points in our personal lives on the day when all that is hidden is revealed."
~ By Ven Servant of God Fr John A Hardon SJ (1914-2000) Prayer For the Return of Lapsed Catholics to the Sacraments Almighty Father, You desire not the death of the sinner but that he may be converted and live. Pour out upon us Your mercy and hear the prayers of Your servants. Soften the hearts of Your children who have strayed, from the true path, which You established for their salvation. They are now forgetful of their duties as Catholics and pursue the pleasures of the world. Grant that they may quickly return to the practice of every Christian virtue, so that their lives may shine with the integrity of faith, the fervour of piety and the ardour of charity. Restore them to Your sacraments and the life of Your grace, through the merits of the most precious blood of Your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
