I think that the hope was with Democrat strategists was that with the conviction of Trump his support would plummet. It has fallen a little but not enough. For instance the 200 million he got in donor support in 24 hours and still doing well in swing states. So the nuclear option of bombing him in many courts has failed. They gave it a couple of weeks to test this to be sure. Not the only hope is indeed to dump poor old Biden. I see the Wall Street Journal did a big piece on his dementia the other days.
