I finished a big restoration job at our Church, St.Anthony of Padua. They are celebrating their 100th anniversary and the Stations of the Cross were peeling and chipped. They are about 100 years old, made by Daprato in Chicago. It was started by two Italian men who immigrated to the United States in 1885 and they were from a town of statue makers in Italy. These stations were made with horsehair and plaster. Bas relief beautifully painted and hang on the wall. The backgrounds were done with an airbrush. Gold leaf was added. 14 of them took me quite awhile to finish but just in time for the Eucharistic Pilgrimage. Our church will be hosts this coming Sunday and Monday before the pilgrims continue their journey to Indianapolis.
Great work very kind of you . I am saying the novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe every day. I wish the pilgrimage was in Canada also.
Wow! What a wonderful job- it looks very beautiful. I’m sure God will reward you with Many blessings for this effort in His House!
Looks beautiful. How wonderful to be able to beautify the Church. I recall last Christmas season at our local Church the Crucifix above the altar was dropped and broken in two places. One of our talented parishioners took it home and returned it the next morning looking good as new. He told me he stayed up past midnight repairing it. No one even knew about it, not even our Pastor! Praise God for sacramentals!
What a gift from the heart, Katfalls, especially with your health complaints. One day you will know and see the faces of those who gazed upon these restored works of art and because of your efforts to bring them to life, heard God's voice in their spirit.
What beautiful artwork. May Our Good Lord reward you thousand fold! Hurray, there is so much hope today, still!
May the stations of Jesus passion come alive to all who look upon them and may all be touched by the masterful work of our little Katfalls. Thank you and God Bless you always
