Well when looking at it on the iPhone some of the photos were jumping around. So gotta go back at it today and try to figure out how to fix it. Bless those web design people, ha!
So wonderful, Katfalls! Very good information. We have been so blessed the Our LORD and His mother have given us these precious images to ponder their glory. The last month or so I was trying to find an accurate account of the imagery on Our Lady of Guadalupe. The information on the web is contradicting a bit. Some places say that the crescent moon was painted in later as was the angel at the bottom, but I don't buy that. If that was the case, her dress wouldn't have been in folds as she is stepping on the pagan symbol. I was trying to find out if the angel was St. Michael, but all I could find was that it was an unidentified angel. Great work, Katfalls!
What marvelous summaries! I know much about the Shroud and Tilma, but the info on Veronica's veil was new to me. Bravo!!
Oh I know the different info is out there! So much conjecture. I have some thoughts on that, too. But since I have never been able to see it with my own eyes I can only surmise. At one time there was a crown on her head that had faded. Knowing portrait artists and restoration artists I’m pretty sure an artist at one time took liberties to add it. And I’m thinking the color of the cloak might have been added since the rest of it is a brown tone. It would be like tinting old photos to add color like they did 100 years ago. However, the original image is of a photographic quality like the Shroud. It’s very interesting. I’m pretty sure some gold was added to the rays because on close observation some of the gold has faded or flaked off. Wish we could all get together to study and comment! tnx
Hey thanks to everyone for the feedback on the site! I welcome the feedback. I know there were some issues with the site this a.m. I think I have all the bugs worked out for now . . .so, I found out it has to be re-vamped to fit on a cell phone vs looking on a computer! Ha! I am a total dummy at this but working my way through. My oldest son says, yeah, Mom when I was in college I learned something about that but it's all kinda vague. Well, very vague to me but I used Wix to set it up. I will try to add more things later, like the latest info on the Shroud research that is always on-going. I have my thoughts on that, too. I feel an urgency to get these projects complete! If you notice any more typos or things don't sound right in my verbage, or you have other opinions for me to research please let me know.
